Dragon's Dogma - Reviews

Dog shit!! It is literally dog shit. The sad thing is that I actually heard the game it's based off of is pretty good and it obviously not portraying the game at all. I'm not really on for CGI but this only made my dislike for it worse. The plot is basic, boring and predictable. The characters aren't really that enjoyable. It's honestly a disappointment really.

So cliched it hurts. CGI animation. Basic and so sad that I'm sure Netflix spent lots to get it.

I was quite surprised when I saw Dragon's Dogma on Netflix as it was one of my favourite RPG's, so I gave it ago and watched it all within one night, I liked how they tried to make some important moments that were in the game come to life and made it look good with the nice animation and the 5.1 sound surround, I have nothing to complain about with any of that. I watched it in Japanese the voice actor's were pretty good and did the roles well.

What I strongly dislike was that it wasn't long enough and it felt rushed, dragon's dogma has so much more to give, the game is very long and it had so many special moments that they just didn't capture or had no time to do it. This could have easily have been a 40 episode or 100 episode show, I was underwhelmed but strangly I watched it all pretty quickly so it wasn't all bad I was just in the mood for it. I have nothing more to say apart from I don't think we will ever get another dragon's dogma anime for along time, I would recommend anyone that wants to enjoy it more should play the game.

0/10 go play the game to experience osmething actually good, considering how absolutely worthless this iseven to someone like me who just skimmed it trying to find little easter eggs I shall be reviewing the game instead:

Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, is one of the most unique RPGs of all time and you should definitely try it out, it may have a bit of a harsh learning curve but thats because its this weird and wonderful amalgamation thats a little like monster hunter and dark souls but also devil may cry and shadow of the colossus or breath of the wild. 

The "Dark Arisen" is to show it is the DLCs included version you will most likely play, a cool thing included in that DLC is the eternal ferrystone, an item that lets you fast travel without buying the expensive ferrystones from shops, you will find it in your stored inventory at any inn, thus eliminating one of the huge problems with the original version, how tedious the limited fast travel idea became although its cool in concept. 

You will also find that the game really encourages exploration but also emphasises progression, stray off the path and you may find encounters you will only be able to clear after leveling up some more, getting better gear and maybe choosing another class that more suits your playstyle.

I dont know how else to sell it to you other than: its really cool and unique so give it a shot or two, you wont regret it.
