Both these series focus on martial arts, with a touch of magical/supernatual/energy beam abilities. Both are long shounen series with lengthy battles but have a great cast of characters. A fan of one would no doubt enjoy the other as well.

Bleach and Dragon Ball Kai are similar in many ways and also different in both ways. For starters they are both very popular anime. Both are based on very exaggerated and violent fights. They both have similar plots. Many of you might not believe it, but yes the plot of Dragon Ball Kai and Bleach are similar in many ways.

So you are watching the classics.

You have less time to Straight up ball out on the monstrosity of the giant series that they are.

Have no fear. Shorter versons that tell enough of the story, and do it with one less episode of powering up, or whining about how you should not be piloting some destructive machine.

Are these stories pretty much different in flair and substance? Yes.

Are they aimed at your 12 year old boy with a lot of action, oh hell yeah.

So if your older, want to endulge in some action (missles and explosions vs martial arts... and explosions) you could do no worse than Kai and Gundam Movies I,II and III.
