Double Decker! Doug & Kirill

With the bright colors, crazy narration, absurd humor and fun action, it's highly likely that these series would be best friends. 

our men are assigned to Nanba, the world’s most formidable prison. Juugo, a man who attempted to break out of prison and ended up extending his jail time; Uno, a man who likes to gamble with women; Rock, a man who likes to get into fights; and Nico, a man who likes anime. A super exciting action comedy about the daily lives of the prison’s inmates and guards.

While Double Decker! took longer to grab me than Tiger & Bunny did, I immediately saw much of what I liked in Tiger & Bunny present in this show.  Colorful and downright exuberant character designs, with even the more somber characters visually striking.  A world which felt flushed out without having to tell you everything at the get go.  And, while the emphasis is largely on Kirill in the first three episodes, a solid cast of characters.

I'm glad I stuck with it long enough to get to the ensemble and see Kirill starting to grow up a little.  The plot really picked up in episode five, and I hope to see it pay off as time goes by.  Tiger & Bunny astounded me in its ability to turn around and suddenly shift into a really well-written plot, so I have my fingers crossed for this one.
