Digimon Tamers - Recommendations

If you liked Digimon Tamers, then im sure youll like Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. both of these great series had a lot of fun and adventures. It focuses on a group of friends and there Monsyer-like companions trying to overcome many obsticals and become closer to there new friends.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl is closer to Digimon Season 3 because they were both Season 3 basically, its just like saying its season 3 of digimon, if you like pokemon, you most likely like digimon! and it goes both ways

Both Digimon and Pokémon focus on groups of friends and their creatures who fight other creatures. Pokémon Diamond and Pearl may be closer to Digimon Tamers because it's the most mature "season" of Pokémon. Both Digimon Tamers and Pokémon Diamond and Pearl focus on two boys and one girl.

Both Tamers and Denno Coil involve interactions with a digital world, and explore how interactions with digital entities push children into adult situations.  As a result, both series place a lot of focus on the characters, and both have a likeable and fleshed-out cast because of this.

Both deal with an other "digital/cyber world" and how it's affecting the real world. Both are also full of past secrets that are now cropping up in the here and now. Both deal with things creeping in from the digital world that may or may not be harmful to the real world and both have organizations/kids that are fighting to eliminate the intruders as well as try to show people that they aren't so bad. Also both involve going into the digital world to fix the real one.

Both involve children getting dragged into serious situations due to circumstances involving their time spent with technology/involving a cyber world. Tonally, they both have a sort of melancholy feeling at times, which is outside of how you'd expect the series to go initially. They both go into more serious territory than you'd initially think, with a character focused psychological bend and some child trauma.

In Both series the main characters have to battle in order to save world. They both have action comedy and the characters are really cool. so if u like Digimon season 3 you'd like Bakugan Battle Brawlers.

Both of these anime deal with children teaming up with beings from another world.  Also, to power-up these beings, the children use cards on them. Not to forget to mention that both anime have the same amount of episodes and are genred as action with card battling.

In these series, monsters exsisted in the form of video games. The main characters find themselves now face to face with these creatures. Using their knowledge of the video games, the kids must defeat the evil monsters(/digimon).

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend most monster-catching / monster-partnership shows as a rec for either Digimon Tamers or Monster Rancher. But Digimon Tamers and Monster Rancher are two shows in the same genre that share a similar appeal: they are very emotional stories where characters face consequences and occasionally have to make hard choices. Both involve children getting caught up in a digital world beyond them, and monster characters who are developed as their own people. I think if you've completed either and are longing for something similar, you'll find it within the other series.

The cast of each are in about the same age group, with the kids in Noein being a little older, though the target audience for Digimon Tamers is younger anyway.  Both series have heavy sci-fi elements involving parallel worlds, ultimately leading up to immense existential threats. 

In Noein and Digimon Tamers both, a lot of focus is placed on the characters, their development, and their relationships.  They both do a good job of maintaining a balance between the problems of children, the problems of adults, and the wide-scale conflict that takes place as the series builds up.

Weird sci-fi teen drama? Absolutely relevant.

Both have interesting concepts of space. time, and friendship, so if you liked one, you'll like the other.

Yu-gi-oh and Digimon Tamers have a lot in common. First off, the shows are both based on card games. But, the games become more than games, the monsters in the cards become 'real' and the characters in the series have to fight using the cards and the monsters. The fate of the world lies in the hands of those with the cards and the skills.

Both of these series seem to give a bit of a darker edge to already familiar franchises. 5D's and Tamers both introduce characters who are more calm and collected than their earlier series. For the main characters, it would seem that what they do it taboo according to those in authority over them. If you liked Digimon, you should like Yu-gi-oh and vice-verse. And if you liked Tamers or 5D's, then you should definately like the other.

In Both series The characters get to use card in battles that will help them in their mission. To protect the human world from being destroy They have duels and the storyline is kind of the same. so if u like Digimon season 3 you'd like Yu-Gi-OH.

For the first time in both of these series, the digital enemies (viruses and evil digimon) invade the real world and threaten the safety of everyone there. In response, the digi-destined and net battlers also find a way to bring their digital friends into the real world, and the battles begin. Both groups have to deal with the safety of people around them, threats that pop up without warning, and the secrecy needed to protect those they care about.

Pokemon and Digimon Tamers contain similar ingreidients.

3 kids {two guys and 1 girl}, monster creature partners, battles, baddies and an ultimate goal.

The majority of both shows focuses on the relationship among the trio, their monster creatures and getting stronger in battles. Not everyone gets along in the beginning but as the episodes progress the trios become friends and make friends with other humans and other monster creatures. 

Monster creatures protect their human friends by battleing, leveling up and evolving into stronger creatures with different abilites more suited to the battle/situation.

One of the main differences is that the trio in Pokemon travel around to different regions in the same world, find battle and capture creatures native to those lands. The monster creatures in Digimon Tamers are from the Digital World, the trio sticks to one main monster creature pal and do not seek out others for capture.

Another difference is that there are other human characters in Digimon Tamers that are not irrregular or as superfluous as in Pokemon. They have more influence on the plot, screen time, and broaden the trio to a larger group. {the sequel versions of Pokemon do add other m.c.s and some human characters do reappear but for the inclusion of the 276 eps of the original Tamers triumps in the human department}.
