Well well well, where to start on this movie...

So it starts off where the first Tri movie leaves off and goes nowhere at all for the first hour, like no joke it does nothing to further the plot in any way, instead we get treated to a spa day, a school festival and Joe crying in his room about the magical digital monsters and world getting in the way of him trying to study. Oh and the Digimon Emperor is still a thing even though it’s like 2 years after all of that but he’s still rocking those sweet shades!

Then the last 20 minutes happen and boy do they do nothing again for the first 10 of those. We keep getting teased that there is going to be an attack at the school, somethings going to happen at the school, it’s going to be the school!

And nope, the climactic battle happens in one of the portals into the digital world subspace so the school isn't in any danger at all!

But! Inside that portal we get to see Meicoomon being held by the Digimon Emperor and Leomon trying to fight off the Poke'rus and a new digivolution (new to the show not to the series) when Gomamon turns into his mega form Vikemon to fight off the Digimon Emperor and Imperialdramon. Then because its anime we get Rosemon for some bondage, whips and boobies and the two of them beat Imperialdramon and save the day!

Until... Meicoomon is scared, freaks out, doesn't let Mei touch her, digivolves and murders Leomon and then we find out that it's all because of Meicoomon that the portals and Digital herpies is going about for some reason that isn't explained at all.

I get it, it's the second of six movies but give us something to chew on, 75% of this movie felt like a filler arc in a series and as a movie that just doesn't work for such a long format. It was still enjoyable but there needed to be more substance to the whole arc that we are going through with this series.

On an ending note, WE GET IT, Taichi and Yamato don't need to keep acting like they kissed once and both liked it and are confused about it, their character interactions are pettier than when they were kids and I hope it either gets resolved or forgotten about come the next movie.
