Negishi Souichi always dreamed of joining a trendy pop band, so that he could perform music like that of his idol, Kahimi Karie. In order to realize his dream, he decided to leave the country side and his loving parents to study in Tokyo. And after graduating, he does manage to join a band... but not the kind he was expecting! As lead singer of the death metal band Detroit Metal City, under the stage name Krauser II, he is made to perform loud songs filled with obscene lyrics - a far cry from the songs he used to write in school. But despite the fact that Negishi hates DMC's music, the Krauser side of him will do anything to put on a good show for his fans... even if it means making Negishi's life a misery!
This episode could be great as a pilot episode but all scenes from it are present in the whole show. It's quite useful to watch it. It dissapointed me a little because I hoped to see something new. I didn't... If you want to watch it go ahead but there is nothing new to see. It's just a cut of few scenes from the show.
Thought it was a Beck or Nana about a heavy metal band trying to jumpstart their career but boy was I wrong. The idea of it is that there a shy and introverted young kid Souichi Negishi is fresh out of college is the lead singer of a heavy metal rock band that's a combination of Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne, and ear rape. The bands manager is a total uh... weirdo? Sex addict? creep? Maybe its actually all three. Souichi is the only sane member of the group who deals with an internal monologue of him wanting to do something different like wants singing actual songs about love like Jason Mraz but everyone wants to keep going the Megadeath route and not expand their repertoire to different genres. The episodes are quick, the dialogue is weird is exaggerated, the animation is weird which fits the show, but the music is actually a good part of each episode. Also, a little warning the word "rape" appears a lot so, there's that.
