Kyu has always been interested in solving mysteries. After assisting in a murder case, he earns the opportunity to take the entrance exam for the Dan Detective School (DDS), a famous detective school established by the equally famous detective, Dan Morihiko! DDS is trusted implicitly by the police and receives their absolute cooperation in all matters, and its students are often able to crack even the most difficult cases. I cannot recommend this anime enough. Wow, I was blown away. If you can't find it under the English name, look for: Tantei Gakuen Q. I have to compare this one to the anime "case closed" because it does everything that case closed didn't do right.  You don't have one OP main character with all of the answers and everyone else just stumbling and bumbling (like shaggy and scooby from scooby doo). Each character brings a unique skill to the table: a photographic memory, perfect eyesight and martial arts skills, etc etc. They also make mistakes sometimes and have to rethink and regroup, which is much more realistic. The characters balance their personalities with their strengths and weaknesses. It reminds me of the sisters from the anime "Read or die TV." Enough humor and seriousness to get the job done. You also can actually solve the mysteries yourself without help from a superior intellect. The needed context is mentioned, the body language of the characters can be detected and the clues are in sight, albeit briefly.  It also had a great plot from episode to episode. Some of the mysteries fit into one episode, others take up to 3 episodes. My only gripes: There was one mystery that I thought was a little unrealistic. Also, the fact that the identity of the main character's father wasn't known until the end was a little unrealistic. There are a few anime cliches like pervy characters, but that's to be expected.  The ending was great, but I wish they would have continued this series!!! There was plenty of room to add more mysteries and Pluto battles, but we can't always get what we want.  Overall, the best detective anime I have ever seen (and I have seen quite a few). 9/10.
