NOT JUST ANOTHER SHONEN!!

The story is amazing!!!! and not like all regular shonen (where the usual love interest is fangirling/obsesed with the main character) it is about sibling bond.

Yes the main characters have a tragic backstory from where it all unvails BUT, it is not the cliche we get from this type of anime like"nakama strenght"-

And as someone that reads the manga I can tell you it all gets better and better as the story progresses so give it a chance!

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - A Stunning Visual Spectacle with Heart

Story (8/10): Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba presents a compelling story set in Taisho-era Japan, where young Tanjiro Kamado's life takes a tragic turn when his family is slaughtered by demons, and his sister Nezuko is turned into one. The series follows Tanjiro's journey to become a demon slayer and avenge his family while seeking a cure for Nezuko. The plot is well-paced, with a good balance of action, character development, and emotional depth. While it follows some shonen tropes, it stands out with its unique take on demon mythology and the bond between siblings.

Animation (9/10): The animation quality in Demon Slayer is nothing short of breathtaking. The visuals are a true standout, featuring stunning and fluidly choreographed fight sequences that immerse viewers in the world of demon slayers. The character designs are distinct and memorable, and the use of vibrant colors adds to the overall appeal.

Sound (8/10): The soundtrack, composed by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina, enhances the emotional resonance of the series. The opening and ending themes are catchy and effectively set the tone for each episode. Voice acting performances are strong, with standout portrayals from the main cast, particularly Natsuki Hanae as Tanjiro and Akari Kitō as Nezuko.

Characters (7/10): Demon Slayer features a diverse cast of characters, each with their own unique abilities and backstories. Tanjiro's determination and unwavering kindness make him a compelling protagonist. However, some supporting characters receive less development and screen time, which can leave viewers wanting more insight into their motivations and histories.

Overall (7/10): Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a visually stunning and emotionally resonant anime that has captured the hearts of many. While its story follows some familiar shonen themes, its execution, outstanding animation, and memorable characters set it apart. It's a must-watch for fans of action-packed supernatural adventures. As for the manga, it provides a more detailed and comprehensive look at the story, making it a worthwhile read for those who want to delve deeper into the Demon Slayer universe.

Demon Slayer is another show that did a lot of things right but it also had plenty of moments where I wanted to throw my monitor out the window. Let me explain...

The art style, the concept, the color used and the animations are some of the best in the business and based on that I'd give the show a 10 out of 10 but then we get to the character and demon designs... That's where it's a big hit or miss.

The first half of the series is absolutely amazing and you're rooting for Tanjirou and Nezuko to succeed in finding a cure for Nezuko.

But then, you get introduced to Zenitsu and it's like nails on a chalkboard. I'm sure I'm not the only one who was ready to drop the show after 2 episodes of non-stop whining. Zenitsu in this show is like what Lefiya Viridis is for Danmachi but worse. They're characters that can ruin your whole experience. you thought it ended there? Nope! You get introduced to yet another obnoxious character with boar-head dude!

I understand that these characters are added for comedic value to break away from some of those gorgeous violent scenes but they're just not funny and, again, it's a shame because the show up to that point is an absolute masterpiece. The tone changes so much, I actually felt I was watching Naruto on crack and that's not what I was expecting.

The main villains' design is excellent, I do want to see more of him. Creepy, emotionless and just does whatever he pleases. He paints this picture that he's untouchable. He's one of the best villains I've seen but the rest of his squad just doesn't live up to that same standard. Most of the character that we get introduced to in the second half of the show just seems like rainbow vomit and it just isn't my cup of tea.

It does a lot right but it also does a lot of things horribly wrong.

Demon Slayer was an amazing series you could binge watch in one seating. I suppose what I loved most about this anime was how the main character was so strong and determined to help someone that had fallen under something potentially dangerous. This anime not only has great fight scenes, but offers some advice and shows how compassion could save something very precious. I highly reccommend Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
