This movie was AMAZING.
Just saw it last night subbed in cinema and it completely blew my mind.
I laughed and I cried. This movie was so well done and I enjoyed every second of it. Would definitely pay to go see it again. Demon Slayer never fails to impress!
Highly recommend.
I was so happy to finally be able to watch this. I'm going to make this spoiler-free.
STORY: I was extremely pleased that the story picks right up where the anime left off. I think that's what we were all hoping for. The story was strong. It fulfilled the arc really well and kept me entertained the entire time. I think this movie was a great bridge for season 1 and season 2.
ANIMATION: I find the animation of this show really unique and aesthetically pleasing. The colors are vibrant, outlines strong and unusual. The quality of the animation was crisp and flowed really well throughout the movie.
SOUND: I have a hard time rating sound but... voice actors sound great and the music in the movie was good
CHARACTERS: The characters remained the same between season 1 and this. They didn't change anything up crazy. Anyone you disliked/liked in season 1, you'll feel the same way here. A little bit of character development was present, as well as situations that remind you what they've been through to get where they are.
OVERALL: I liked the movie a lot. I'm not going to give it the most amazing score, but it was good for what it was meant to do which, again, was bridge season 1 and 2 with an uninterrupted arc (in my opinion). I'm moreso happy that we got this arc all at once, instead of a weekly experience. Although it would have been nice to not have to wait so long for it. I think this movie sets up really well for the craziness that's going to be season 2.
***No Spoilers***
If you are going to watch this go with the TV version instead and not the movie. The movie has 1 min of unique scenes at the very start and that's all. Whereas the TV version has a full 30 min episode extra and a few added scenes throughout the season. So you get more with the TV version and its worth it.
Movie - 8/10
Mugen Train TV - 9/10
Every thing about this movie is such good the animation is epic but the story is kinda low for me the only thing a like on this movie is the animation, fight and many except for the story
It's nowhere, not even close, to being the modern anime classic most people want ths to be. It's all so pointless nd mediocre, with cringe inducing voice acting, and, honestly, if this is the best anime has to offer, then it isn't worth it. Quality of anymation means nothing if the story behind it isn't pure, if it doesn't offer something new, something exciting. This liked all that. There was nothing there, just a blank feeling of numbness after watching.
Go watch Castlevania or something. Fuck, Avatar has a better "master all elements" story, and that's a fucking kid's show, Jesus Christ.
