Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

In 2010, the Britannian Empire enslaved Japan using powerful mecha known as Knightmares; in the aftermath Japan was renamed Area 11, and its people began a hard and terrible existence. Lelouch, a Britannian student living in Area 11, has grown up hating the Empire and everything it stands for. One day, in the middle of a terrorist attack, Lelouch meets a...

If you liked the manipulation skills Lelouch had you will like the way Light acts to get what he wants. Both series have very strong main characters. The intelligence of the characters makes them seem godlike in the face of adversity but like Lelouch, Light also has his share of enemies.

The main characters in Death Note and Code Geass are really smart and godlike. They know what they want and how to get it. The enemies they face are really tough and intelligent, which makes both stories really interesting.

Both Death Note and Code Geass have a similar lead character and a great story. They are two intense series about the main character's rise and search for power, although under completely different circumstances.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2

Area 11 is still under Britannian rule and the Elevens remain brutally oppressed; what’s more, their saviour, Zero, is nowhere to be found and all of Britannia believes the rebellion is finally over. Lelouch Lamperouge and Yagami Light share some characteristics. They both want too change the world at all cost. Not a single death is too much for them. Although there are no Mecha's in Death Note, and no Shinigami's in Code Geass, I am sure that if you liked the one, you will like the other, so jump into the lives of these Anti-Heroes, and see what they will do for their goals!

Aelphais Aelphais says

Both series revolve around the anti-hero trying to take over the world. Death Note is a darker themed version of the genre, and Code Geass has mech elements, but both series provide an interesting outlook on tyranny.

The Supernatural Aspects, and the slightly dark sides to both, Death Note, and Code Geass are very simalar.

I Personally LOVE Code geass, and death note is a close 2nd or 3rd place.

Terror in Resonance

Terror in Resonance

In an alternate version of the present, Tokyo has been decimated by a shocking terrorist attack, and the only hint to the identity of the culprit is a bizarre video uploaded to the internet. The police, baffled by this cryptic clue, are powerless to stop the paranoia spreading across the population.

Both Animes have very similar themes and characters. Both have extremely intelligent protagonists and antagonists who are always playing cat and mouse together. I highly recommend that you watch Zankyou no Terror if you enjoyed Deathnote, and vice versa.

Starletka Starletka says

Sharing the same dark, mysterious atmosphere full of suspense, Death Note and Zankyou no Terror have highly intelligent teenage main characters with secret identities who have to hide from the police while trying to make a change in the world.

Both Zankyou no Terror and Death Note have a strong focus on fighting crime that requires a bit of mystery solving to complete. Both feature characters who play a dual protagonist and antagonist role as well, starring as the main characters while also taking on the roles of the villains in both anime. If you enjoy anime that include mysteries or riddles, as well as detective themes and of course crime related drama, I think you'll enjoy both of these, so in turn I think if you like one you'll enjoy the other just the same.
