Bakuman and Death Note aren't so much alike based on what they have, but they would appeal to the same audience based mostly on what they don't have. They're both shounen series' without the stereotypical fights, team of 3-4 people all adventuring and fighting for a similar goal. Both of these are mostly about thinking and intellect to some extent. And instead of wowing the viewer with flashy fight scenes, they both suck you in with wonderfully developed characters.
While the story subjects are entirely different, it helps to add that both Bakuman and Death Note are created by the same storywriter/artist (Ohba/Obata) and therefore get the same feel and pace from each story by how the characters act and react to circumstances around them. Similar humor, albiet Bakuman's is much more exaggerated and lighthearted.
Deathnote and Bakuman both share a similar or near exact art style and deep/thought provoking themes. This of course makes sense due to the fact that they are written and drwan by the same author in their manga forms. Another great thing about both is how well they follow the original plot of their mangas. They are both well planned/executed anime series. If you liked deathnote you'll love bakuman and vice versa, they may be very different however they are both very much the same.
Yes Bakuman and Death Note are not similar at all. But they have the same author and artist. Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. Those two are geniues at manga and anime.
Same mangaka and writer so the art work is much the same too also you find out answers of death note in Bakuman since it's slightly based on the authors as well as I loved them both lol! <3
Looking for a change, Mikado moves from the countryside to bustling Ikebukuro to attend the same high school as his best friend, Masaomi. Though navigating a new school and friendships can prove tough by itself, Mikado also finds an overwhelming number of new delights and dangers in the district he now calls home. From a friendly Russian sushi bar to the violent color gangs, to even an urban legend in the form of a black motorcycle rider, each resident of Ikebukuro is unique and frightening. But the town is smaller than it seems at first, and these strange events appear to be connected. Will the growing storm sweep up the transplanted country boy and his friends or will Mikado find himself at the center of a dramatic change for Tokyo?

even though durarara!! has an enourmous intro(10 eps) and death note takes off right from the beginning, Both have an incredible amount of story, also they both have awesome character cast of extraordinary people.
Both animes are very alike, even though Death Note is better in my opinion, Durarara!! is definately worth watching
They both share elaborate schemes that will keep you guessing and rivalries where they hate and love each other.
It's awesome, they both have many similar qualities in the genre and it's just worth watching in general.
these anime were full of twist and epic story plot. nice to watch, very entertaining... Very recommended!
Both have a general crime theme and illegal activities, and both have a fantasy element. I honestly couldn't choose a favourite, they're both so good. Durarara!! has funny elements where there are significantly fewer in Death Note
Satoru Fujinuma is a reclusive part-timer with no plans for the future. What sets him apart from the other slackers in his town is an involuntary time travel ability that allows him to jump back several seconds in time in order to prevent accidents and even deaths. As incidents around town begin reminding Satoru of a childhood trauma he'd sooner forget, he finally begins to question what caused his ability to surface and whether or not it's powerful enough to change the past.

They are pretty similar as they are both suspense, crime-solving animes. The main character is always trying to predict the antagonist's next move and comes up with intricate plans to counter them.
ERASED has time-travelling while Death Note has Shinigamis to make each series even more entertaining.
I personally preferred ERASED because it was great from beginning to end, while unfortunately Death Note turns out a little 'meh' towards the end. Anyone who watched Death Note knows exactly what I'm referring to. ;)
They both include a lot of mystery, suspense, detectives and that little bit of magic that we all need every now and then. Really, the two animes are very similar in theory.
Both animes have similar themes such as mystery, murder and "supernatural themes"(even a bit of psychology). It really keeps you on the edge of your seat! The art and voice acting are amazing! (in both dub and sub). Although it doesn't have much action, it's still a great emotional ride. It's a very fluent and well planned out anime, truly a master piece of 2016
Both anime feature a hyper-intelligent protagonist, who want to change the world by using a special power of theirs. You really start to gain a liking for all characters, and the moment they leave the series, it'll hit you greatly. However, the ending of both anime is fairly weak as well.
Both anime have interesting plot development that keeps them interesting. Both also demonstrate good vs evil.
The series is set in the future where scientists have tried to breed the “perfect human” in hopes of keeping peace in the universe. After nearly achieving their goal through three children, the scientists send their “new humans” for further training where they are kidnapped by an evil organization set on using their powers to implement their own concept of a new world order.

They have great voice actors and the art style is above par. B: the beginning is a little slow to explain things but you catch on quick. Both have a detective who seem to see everything. Almost seem slow or heavy ocd.
Anti hero, detective work, short season and heroes out of this world. The criminals and Dtectives being closer than appeared that add a slow and serious suspense.
Death Note is a great series that I would love to recommend. This series I enjoy watching and you will probably to if you like an exiting story. Light Yagami who one day stumbled across a book that gives him the power to kill enyone with just writing down their name. Light yagami gave himself the name Kira, Kira was a god of death. The police was starting catching up to Light/Kira and Light was trying to kill L who was head of the Kira investingation. When he killed L with the help of a shinigamin who is a god of death he thought that was the end but turned up to be just the beginning. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Both B: The Beginning and Death Note give off similar vibes. They both have detectives that catch the smallest details and both have anti-heroes with something super natural. (in Death Note - Kira with a shinigami + death note, in B: The Beginning - Koku is a supernatural being himself.)
this anime is really interesting with an amazing plot, The animation, and sound quality are also good, similar type of story with a ruthless strong MC with superpowers, I personally like this anime, its really underrated bruh
In times of olde, humans live in constant fear of demons known as yoma. These vicious creatures can take the appearance and memories of humans they have devoured, thus blending into society as they freely feast on human flesh. The key to stopping the yoma lies with the tolerated yet feared Claymores - women who are half-demon, half-human, and fully fated to become the demons that they hunt. Meanwhile, in a village, the young Raki has been banished; his only crime was losing his family to the yoma. Raki is drawn to a Claymore named Clare, and together their journey begins. While Clare fights the yoma plaguing the land, can Raki help her in her struggle to retain her humanity?

Both Claymore and Death Note have very dark themes and a non-conventional plot (that you really have to pay attention to to understand). Although the lead characters have different ideas (Light has a twisted view of justice while Clare is more sensible about it), they do have things in common: for one they're both serious, and (I think the most significant similarity of both leads) they both have an intense desire for power to achieve what they want.
Both Death Note and Claymore are well planned out and good series. The struggle of survival can make a man/woman do a lot of things, and it's cool to see characters going further then you think they would to achieve their goals.
Although Death Note seems mildly unrelated to Claymore, both encompass very dark themes and twisted views of death. The characters of Light (Death Note) and Claire (Claymore) have a desire to achieve their original goal, which almost blinds them to the fact of everything else. They are simply put in a struggle for survival.
Both series involve fairly depressing plots and a mass of death. Though Claymore is far more action based and westernized than Death Note. Both also have a similar animation style which some viewers might have adored from the one and therefore could love in the other. Finally both feature opening songs created by the band 'Nightmare' which viewers like me will go crazy about! Of course the opening song alone doesn't really links these two animes but it's just a beautiful little additional reason to watch them.
Shinichi Kudo is a famous teenage detective who idolizes Sherlock Holmes and solves difficult cases with ease. One day, after a fun day at the theme park with his childhood friend Ran, Shinichi witnesses something suspicious and is knocked unconscious. What’s worse, he’s forced to take a deadly, experimental drug that shrinks his body to the age of seven. To protect himself and his loved ones from those who may want to finish the job, Shinichi dons the new name Conan Edogawa and moves in with Ran, whose father is a famous detective, in hopes of closing cases that can lead him to the men in black. But little does Shinichi know just how dangerous these men, and their cause, are...
If you loved Death Note for its impressive intellectual side, you will surely love Detective Conan. The thought process he uses every time to solve a case impresses more than the last time. Its simply amazing how Shinichi can solve cases on such little evidence.
Case Closed and Death Note are two mystery anime. Death Note focuses on mystery, and Detective Conan focuses on a bunch of mysteries. If you are the type of person who loves certain anime because they solve mysteries in them, then watch both of these series.
You will absolutely love Detective Conan if you're Death Note fan that is looking for another smart thinking concept of the anime. They both possessed very good intelligent. Shinichi can be compared to Light for the fact that they are smart and thinks logically. But Shinichi's role here is to solve mysteries in crimes. There are tons of episodes of Detective Conan and each one of it will make you wanna stay all night watching it. As well as its movies.
I have not finished all 600+ episodes of Detective Conan, but I'm already in love with it. Death Note and DC are both sinilar in the the intelectual sense in where there is an extremely smart main character solving crimes/ getting rid of criminals. DC is a little bit more toned down, but it gives off the same vibe. I highly recommend watching both shows :)
"I have only abandoned my body, I still live here" - are the words emailed to friends of Chisa, several days after her death by suicide. As Lain delves deeper into the world of the "Wired" (also known as the internet), the line between it and reality becomes more and more unclear. Close the world, open the nExt.

If you like piecing together some of the hardest stories, only to have the puzzle scattered again with a plot twist, I suggest you also try these. Though, Lain's story is harder to keep track of, while Death Note's story isn't as dark.
Both plots are very complex and you have to be on your toes to keep up. Both Lain and Death Note are very "brain active".
These anime have underlying, as well as prominent, themes of psychological problems and changes, and philosophical points on the human condition. If you liked these major themes in one of these series, you would surely enjoy the other.
Both Serial Experiments Lain and Death Note contains some sort of mind game, so if thats what you are after I recommend them both.

In both of these shows the protaginst is given the choice to cause death to someone. They both give me the same mystery/tragic feel and gauge interest by focusing on points that animes usually avoid.
By writing down a name you can make someone disapear.
Both are about several people having to fight against each other after being put into situations that they are given powers to control life or death. Both are darker. There is also a hint at the choice of morality and playing god. Decent action in both also.
Both of these animes are very similar in the approach taken to kill someone. To kill someone, strategy is the key component and outwitting the enemy is what is most important. Also the power felt when being in control of a situation has the same feel for both.
They are both dark, though Btooom is less boring then death note they both suck on different levels but have redeeming qualities in emotional intent.
26 years ago, something terrible happened in a middle school’s third year classroom. A popular, talented student named Misaki suddenly died, and the ramifications of that incident have caused each third year class since then to live in fear. It is now 1998, and Kouichi Sakakibara has just transferred into the notorious classroom, curious about the mysterious secret that his peers are hiding from him. He’s drawn to one enigmatic girl named Mei Misaki, a quiet student who wears an eye patch and warns him about getting involved with her, and continues to seek her out against the pleas of his classmates. And that’s when people begin to violently die...
Almost all every genera that "Another" is taged with apply to Death Note as well.
While they are both Psychological Horror with supernatural and mystery overtones: where Deathnote flies off into unrealistic Epic Anime land; Another stays grounded.
If what you liked about DeathNote is the fact that he can play god than Another may not me for you. If what you liked is the Horror of being in a situation that that is out of your control than you will find Another gripping.
I found Another much more terrifying because I could imagine it acctually happening, it even seemed to follow a supernatural logic that might be consistent with quantum mechanics. The other thing that makes Another frigtening is that unlike Death Note or other Middle School Anime the Charecters seem like they are actually in High School. We are reminded that these are just kids. They have a vulerability that makes them more simpathetic, it reminds me of what I think middle school is really like for most people uncertain and scary, this is set up from the second episode as the students talk about being worried about what high school they can test into, and continues as it becomes more obviouse that death is ttwalking among them.
Supernatural, detective, mystery etc. A case where people die for "unknown" reason. Lots of deaths, good story, animation and music.
These animes are both "sitting at the edge of your seat" animes. Once you watch one episode, the suspence will have you wanting more. I enjoy murder/death mysteries and if you enjoy watching genres like that, you are sure to love either of these. Death Note is about Light Yagami (Kira) killing people with the power of the death note. Another is about Kouchi Sakakibara and class 3's death curse.
If you enjoyed the darker themes of either of these shows, you will most likely enjoy the other. Also, both have supernatural themes to them.
Over a century ago, mankind was devoured by giant beings of unknown intelligence and origin known as Titans – creatures that eat humans alive indiscriminately and for no apparent reason. The remaining population has managed to survive the last hundred years only by building a multi-walled city capable of keeping the Titans at bay, training military recruits to patrol the perimeter and gather intelligence about their mysterious foe. Eren and Mikasa have lived a relatively peaceful life behind the city's walls, but when a massive Titan appears, smashing the outer barrier and unleashing a wave of terror, their lives are brutally changed forever...

Both have a dark, gritty atmosphere. The main characters are interesting, and very well-developed. Death lurks behind every corner in both anime, and the Japanese voice acting is professional. Make sure to check them both out, as they both are really good and stay true to the manga.
Has a bit of a similar feel, but don't expect the same story. You do get "lessons" along the way, and that enriches and explains a complex context. Attack on Titan is also pretty grim, and somewhat more explicitly bloody.
While Death Note is more psychologically and mystery focused in genre and Attack on Titan is more action / violence in genre, they both break many stereotypes that you'll find throughout the TV shows. In both anime, the main character isn't always on "the good side" and you'll constantly be second guessing which side is right and what is worth fighting for. In both anime, they aren't always happy endings and they'll both leave you with intense feelings.
