Continuation of Dead Mount Death Play.
This anime is all about the story and character development. This series is an excellent choice if you enjoy more in-depth plot and character growth. The MC and all the characters throughout this story have a lot more depth to them and background than most anime out there. This series spends a great deal of time connecting those watching to the characters and helping them understand where the characters are coming from. Most of the time stories are based on the macro level, the big picture, but this anime puts in a lot of effort to building the characters up so one can perceive why they are the way they are. This anime is a bit darker than most, not the white knight type of characters, thus there are a lot of shady types in this anime. I believe this is worth the watch even if you are not into the darker type stories. I am thankful in the second season they did not spend so much time with the dead detective whose spirit was placed into the pen, it got really tiring to switch back and forth from the dubbed version to the subbed version to figure out a lot of the plot that would be missing without the translation to all the writing. You would think someone would be bright enough that if you are dubbing a series and there is a lot of written dialog such as text messages you would translate that for those watching the dubbed versions. Enjoy!
Overall it's a really good show, I like to premise of the show but at the last episode it kind of fell off in my opinion but I do like the use of 3D and 2D and I really enjoyed the characters especially the magician which always had me bursting out with laughing when he was in the shot light. overall it's not a perfect show but it's a really good one if you have it some spare time I recommend watching it. PS the comedy in the show is really hilarious it always had a serious moments and out of nowhere it had some comedy, an examples of this are in some of the fights. That doesn't mean it didn't take it so seriously but not so seriously it felt like it was trying too hard.
Overall this season was pretty okay. It's clearly meant to serve as buildup for the next season. Honestly not much to say about this season because it's just regular buildup you see in many Anime, so what I would want to talk about are the characters instead. I think that the development we see with the protagonist and how he's steering away from "current peace" to taking actions to make peace "in the future" is a very interesting development, and I think it's definitely going to make the next season much more interesting. I think Misaki is just as cool of a character. While the protagonist is cold and edgy, Misaki is a happy psycho. This kind of contrast is very nice to see. Her character development isn't really on a mental level, but more on a physical one. And I think that's fine. Solitaire is starting to remind me of Shadow from the Anime "Eminence in Shadow". He's just pretending to know what's going on, however unlike with Shadow, things don't work out nearly as conveniently for him. He's clearly not the protagonist in this story so things don't really work out perfectly for him, that's what makes him a rather... interesting and unique addition to this Anime in my opinion. Albeit I don't think he'll serve any useful role in this story. Other characters aren't nearly as interesting in my opinion besides these three. Shark girl is honestly kinda boring, and while there might be more to her than meets the eye, there aren't many clues to that so for now I don't think most people care about her. The Shark girl's bodyguard assassin is a bit more interesting, and towards the 11th episode the character does get some development, and it seems that they will have a slightly more important role in the story later on. So that's something to look forward to. Other characters aren't that interesting to me. The two detectives are cool but their methods are very standard, and honestly, they seem like they are pretty powerless, so I'm not sure what role they will serve later on. So far they were just doing pretty standard detective work. I think the current buildups and developments are fine, so I can't really rate the anime any lower than the previous part. 8/10.
