Vic969 Vic969 says...

Both shows take an approach at creating a "Dating Sim" anime. The difference is that in Kami Nomi, MC hits on normal girls, while in Date a Live the girls are magicalbeings from outer space. The two shows are really great and if you like one, then you'll like the other!

Thrawn Thrawn says...

Both shows use the concept of dating games/sims and bring them to life by having the main character use the nuances and features of it to woo/capture troublesome dames. Mix in school life/comedy and a bit o' drama into these romance shows and you got a bucket of fun!

MrROo17 MrROo17 says...

I think these two are almost the same because the main character mision is to make girls fall for him to save them, the only difference is that date a live focus more in action and kami nomi zo shiru sekai focus on comedy

NatsuIgneel95 NatsuIgneel95 says...

Both series is like game/dating sims...cuz for TWGOK,to capture tha 'lost soul',Keima must make the girl that have 'lost soul' in her to fall in love to him and for Date Alive it also like that but it nnot have 'lost soul',it have Spirit

TooOldForAnime TooOldForAnime says...

Both involve the main character having to make someone fall in love in order to fix them. In Date a live the main character has to seal the powers of the spirit by making them fall in love which is similar to how Keima from TWGOK closes the gap in the hearts of Girls.

zetazach zetazach says...

Both animes are about a male protagonist who saves the world by dating young women. While Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai is about a boy who helps a demon capture other demons that are inside of women, Date A Live is about a man who saves the world by dating entities called Spirits.

Madoka Madoka says...

These shows are both very alike in the dating sim type style, whilst in Date A Live the MC has to date the girl and raise her affection for him to reduce her powers in Kami nomi he must tackle girls and "conquer" them to... well protect his life. The element is pretty similar, though Kami Nomi is a little more focused on the "how" to get the girls and such i think they are quite alike and if you enjoy one you might like the other.

rhibob rhibob says...

These two anime are very similar. They both involve a guy having to conquer supernatural girls and kiss them to seal their powers or make a lost soul appear. They are also both comedies and have many dating sim references. If you like one you will like the other.

Date A Live is Sekirei in reverse. Instead of finding the Ultra-Powerful beings in order to kiss them to unlock their advanced abilities, our protagonist must make the Ultra-Powerful beings kiss him in order to seal their abilities. Harem building hilarity ensues in both series as the main male lead collects a bevy of colorful theme girls.

JohnWatchAnime JohnWatchAnime says...

This is a pretty simular show to Date A Live . It is both about a male protagonist dealing with girls who posses some sort of power. Date A Live is a lot less ecchi though

Brad Brad says...

Both shows are harems with comedic elements, where an ordinary guy is surrounded by supernatural/superpowered girls. Date A live's male protangonist can kiss these girls to seal their powers, whereas in Sekirei the boy must kiss them to unlock their full power. So the shows are both similar, and the reverse of each other at the same time. Although Sekirei is the more ecchi of the two by quite some distance.

Bestanimeserie Bestanimeserie says...

Both shows are harem shows and have a ordinary main-character who's life changes after they meet a girl who's not human. The girl seems interested in him and brings more females to his harem in both shows. And in both shows the kiss is a important factor to adding more girls to his harem in Sekirei it's a contract and in Date A Live it's a power seal.

zetazach zetazach says...

Both animes are about a male protagonist who establishes a harem of aliens. While Sekirei has a boatload more of ecchi and the girls are willingly to be "winged", the male protagonist has to seduce the Spirits to save them and the world!

KuroOkami KuroOkami says...

Both animes center around a boy which is always clueless in how the way the world and his new found situation in that world works.  He is even more clueless about how to deal with all the scantily clad women vying for his attention, trying to keep all of them happy even though they could all kill him without much effort.  Even more strange is that even though these women are all very powerful, it is the main boy that must somehow save all of them.

The main protagonist is dealing with a couple of girls with supernatural powers in both series. If you like one of them you will most likely like the other one also.

Etue Etue says...

Kore wa zombie desu ka? Is basically a parody of the genre of anime that Date a Live is part of.It is a rather highly rated parody of the supernatural Harem genre. Both series of course sport a varied cast of supernatural girls with rather peculiar but popular personality times. If you liked Date a Live and want to see a parody of it's genre, look Kore wa zombie desu ka? up. If you want to know what type of anime Kore wa zombies desu ka? parodies there's hardly a better example.

Thrawn Thrawn says...

Guys surrounded by beautiful girls who are thrown in over their heads and forced to adapt to wacky lifechanges; hijinks ensue. From Date A Live and alien girls causing trouble and wrecking stuff to Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka and it's own girls wrecking Ayumu, the girls become orbiting planets to the guy's sun and play off him for comedy. Neither one shy away from action, containing plenty of flare and fanservice and both actually play around with the ecchi genre, taking an unconventional path when they could have gone with the tried and true.

Brad Brad says...

A relatively normal guy surround by a harem of powerful, supernatural girls is the main element of both shows. The main difference is that Kore was Zombie desu ka? is a parody of the supernatural harem genre, and Date A Live is a pretty perfect example of what exactly it's trying to parody. So if you enjoy Date A Live and want to see a parody of the genre then look no further. And if you enjoyed Kore wa Zombie desu ka? and want to see a non-parody version, Date A Live should fit the bill.

Bestanimeserie Bestanimeserie says...

Both shows are harem shows, and have girls with supernatural powers in them. Both shows have a combination of ecchi, comedy, action and a little bit of romance. Also Kore wa Zombie desu ka? is an show that is parodying supernatural harem shows, whilst Date a Live is a show that is a supernatural comedy.

Etue Etue says...

Both series feature supernatural girls forming a strange harem around a central male character. While the type of supernatural creatures differ between series both share similar character tropes and body types. Both series also feature a grand overarching conflict. Date a Live is more straightforward and more by the tropes while High School DxD does try to at least stir things up a little. If you have seen many Harem anime Date a Live holds few surprises for you, if that turns you off; don't watch it.

Crizy Crizy says...

Both animes have different stories which means you may not like one as much as the other, but Date a Live as much as High School DxD are pretty similar since they both have a steady story related to Ecchi, Fantasy and Action. Noticable for Harem fans, Date a Live and High School DxD also have a male protagonist followed by a growing number of women.

NjRyan NjRyan says...

Both anime has a common plot which is romance and much storyline involved which contains the fun of watching it, the story will carry you along and the transactions are great. Date A Live doesn't have much sexual stuff but it still is preety awesome to watch. Anyone will love to watch them exept for those who are only here for the fun part ;)

Infinite Stratos

One guy surrounded by superpowered babes with fights aplenty, flash and pizzazz, some heroics and a harem in the making. The guy's natural charisma attracts the babes and in Date a Live, with the aid of an organization bent on getting him babes. Total opposite to the main of Infinite Stratos, who is beyond help. Both have their romantic hijinks, tender moments and are surprisingly good, better than they should be at first glance.

And some totally kickass outfits that accentuate the gluts and chest.

Brad Brad says...

Both of these series feature a group of dominant females as they form a harem with a fairly bland male protagonist who has a special ability. Both series try to do a little bit of everything, with comedy, ecchi, drama and action all thrown into the mixer. Neither are particularly brilliant in terms of plot or character development, but if you enjoyed one chances are high that you will enjoy the other.

Although they arent all that similar at all,it does have the same harem/ecchi/comedy/action feel too it

hamletsmage hamletsmage says...

Both anime start off with one girl vying for the MC's attention, but quickly piles on the ladies. And these aren't just your ordinary ladies, no. These are superpowered ladies that could probably level a building if they got too upset. The ladies fight each other and other entities quite often; in fact it's most of the show. So, if you liked that in one, go watch the other.

JustInCaseD JustInCaseD says...

Engage Kiss seems heavily influenced by Date A Live. Both have a MC who must kiss the girl to access magical powers. But in the case of Date of Live its to seal them, whereas Engage Kiss its to unseal them for combat. Both also have a dedicated elite task force for eliminating said spirits/demons - which one of the main girls just happens to be involved in.

And probably the most important: both are works illustrated by Tsunako. You can easily recognize her distinguished art and character style from Date a Live used throughout Engage Kiss.

Monikaxrete Monikaxrete says...

The plot is almost the same exept that the MCs are a diffrent Shuu wants to avenge his family while Shido is trying to protect the girls, they also have a simillar power system ig in Date a live you need to kiss the girl to seal her powers so that they arent used in combat but in engage kiss its the oposite you need to kiss the girl to unlock them, so far i like the anime and would recomend it to someone who likes Date a Live

Littlesilverwolf Littlesilverwolf says...

Both anime with settings of the male main should kiss the girls to obtain or seal the power. The female cast are inhuman which are devils and spirits. Both includes love comedy and fighting.

Draken205 Draken205 says...

Engage Kiss is kinda like a more mature version of Date a Live. You've got the shared premise of the world being destroyed by supernatural beings, and the only way to stop them is for the MC to kiss a pretty girl to seal/unseal their magical powers. There's sci-fi action, fights, echii - lots of echii, and similar type of comedy in both. The main difference is the type of MC. DAL's is more of a standard harems in restraint, while EK's has no problem taking his girls straight to the bedroom. If you liked one you'll very likely enjoy the other.

Both Sky Wizards Academy and Date a Live share a similar setup and premise: main character male protaagonist must work with unlikely heroes to save the world.  And the unlikely group of misfits just happens to be a gaggle of girls in both cases. In Sky Wizards, these misfits are the lowest ranked Sky Wizards, the losingest band of fighters in the entire Sky Wizards training school.  In Date a Live, our main male must date and kiss alien girls to seal them from activating as explosive weapons capable of destroying the world.

In Sky Wizards, our hapless male lead must overcome the trainees' suspicions of him as a male pervert to get them to work together as an effective team.  In Date a Live, our clueless male must charm the alien spirits to fall for him in order to inactivate and seal their dangerous proclivity to causing destructive spacequakes.

If you like a touch of harem in your Save The World stories, and enjoy watching cute girls working together for a common cause, either title should fit the bill!

So both of these involve a teen boy getting dragged into a fantasy-like world which involves kissing some girls. Yamada has to kiss people for certain reasons that are explained in the anime and then Shido kisses the spirit girls to lock away their spirit powers. So in a way they are quite similar, both are about one boy and a group of girls pretty much with some supporting characters here and there. They are both heavily comedy with some romance. So I think if you enjoyed one you should like the other.
