The storyline was good and had great pacing.  I felt like something was missing something in order for it to climb past a 7 for me.  Wanted to keep this review spolier free.   Just give it a watch.

Studio Satelight’s 2019 fantasy adventure is so lamentably bad it looks like a kids cartoon from 1978. Seriously. Who greenlighted this nonsense at the studio? It is nothing short of a pile-up of completely unoriginal ideas rubbing shoulders with some cliches whilst a bunch of stereotypes chew the scenery. Schoolgirl Kasumi Nagasaka is having a tough time at school as her head is in the clouds and she cannot focus. Then she is suddenly summoned by a mage into another universe as a phantom to do battle against the ultimate evil. She is not quite what the embattled human folk were expecting. However, soon she flourishes as the Alchemist of Sympathy and starts to wipe the floor with the big-headed snake-like monster-bad guys. It is cringeworthy. It is so bad it doesn’t even warrant its own Wikipedia page. The anime industry stopped churning out awful material like this many years ago. Did the studio think this was retro-cool? It isn’t. It has not one single saving grace. Avoid this dreadful movie like the plague. Bad. Bad. Bad.
