Although the underlying plot of Daphne in the Brilliant Blue is not nearly as heavy as that of Burst Angel, the overall "feel" of the two anime is roughly similar. Burst Angel never really makes up its mind whether it it wants to take itself seriously or just be a light fanservicy romp, whereas Daphne in the BrilliantBlue gives the viewer very little beyond fanservice. All the same, the two anime have a lot in common -- beyond the stereotypical "girls with guns" theme. If you like the one, you'll surely like the other.

It's not exactly the same thing, but there's a lot of similarities within both. Hot chicks with guns, how can you go wrong!!

Action girl anime always makes me happy, although I find Burst Angel to be inferior, they are both very similar.

Black Lagoon and Daphne in the Brilliant Blue are both series quite aquatic in nature revolving around outfits providing services along the lines of mercenaries, couriers, or bodyguards. Daphne is arguably more ridiculous, but they are both to some degree lighthearted.

RIN: Daughters of Mnemosyne

RIN: Daughters of Mnemosyne

Rin is a private investigator with an advantage: near immortality. Thanks to the spores of the Yggdrasill tree, both she and her assistant Mimi have lived many years longer than the average person. That isn’t to say that being immortal doesn't have its problems. With 'angels' wanting to devour them, the being Apos sending wave after wave of professional assassins to kill them, and constant hangovers from long nights of drinking, being immortal still has its downsides. With Apos' attempts at removing them from the picture increasing, can Rin and Mimi figure out what he is after so they can return to their morning shots of Vodka?

Violence and scantily clad females to be had in both series. I would hazzard if you watch these kinds of shows both features are somewhat desirable. Should be noted that Mnemosyne is not light hearted like Daphne, though.

The crew is made up of an unlikely team of misfits: Mikura, a girl with a flair for guns and a love of martial arts, Kurokawa, an old man/ex-detective addicted to noodles, Harada, an engineering nut, and Asami, a schoolgirl. Unfortunately, no matter how small or simple job appears to be, the Dsa team always find themselves biting off more than they can chew...
