Very similar in the fact that a harmless kid joins a band of gangsters and they do some shenanigans. The heroines are also very similar in both. Different because of their time periods.

Jayage Jayage says...

Both are gory and dark anime where are young main character joins a gang of mercenaries/assassins. Thoughtful both nobody is safe almost every member of these groups is kill, both also end in the same way where only one member of the group is left standing.

Azuriai Azuriai says...

Both similar in terms of young male protagonist joining band of underdogs who go around completing requests. In terms of the overall plot and other characters, there are also similarities, although I must say that each character in Akame Ga Kill has more emphasised backstory than that of Edgerunners.

Impulse98 Impulse98 says...

They both have the same feel and do not hold back on the gore. I would say the only difference is the era they were both set in. You will enjoy watching both.

I found that they both had heart wrenching and comedic values with extremely well done writing to top it off

The only difference between these 2 is the time period, but personaly I found the feels to be a little bit more grapling in Cyberpunk.

Very similar in the fact that a harmless kid joins a band of gangsters and they do some shenanigans. Both also set in a future dystopia where mega corps rule the world. Different because one MC is male and the other is female.

wisskas123 wisskas123 says...

Ther both settet in a Cyberpunkt dystopia and have a similar Plot, that a normal Person gets involved with criminals. In akudama Drive the protoginist, a girl, doesnt want to do all the criminals stuff but ist force so she would not get killed by the others but after some time she enjoys it because its different than her normal life.

Littlesilverwolf Littlesilverwolf says...

Both anime about fighting with the main being forced to be criminals due to some sort of incidents. They both having special ability in the anime.

Kakajoju Kakajoju says...

Both are set in a cyberpunk world. About a kid that joins a group of outlaws/mercenaries, they then complete commissions given to them.

SundayDeveluke SundayDeveluke says...

These two are the same in a lot of aspects. The only differences they have is that Akudama Drive has a female MC and the colors in its art style are a dimmer than Cyberpunk.Other than that, you'll no doubt like the other no matter which one you started with.

I'm not articulate enough to explain except the vibes are very similar. If one got you, there's a good chance the other one will also do it for you

Both are action flicks that take place in a world where "cyborgization" has become widespread and evil corporations/government conspiring and using people in their body enhancement experiments that cause severe side effects. Similar stylish presentation, but Edgerunners is more explicit and chaotic.

MitTheNoob MitTheNoob says...

Very similar in reguards to Cyberpunk body enhancements. However one focuses on a Romance and one focuses on a character with a gun as a head.

Gordley Gordley says...

This show tels the story of a man who was used to do horable things and how he eventualy exepts persenal responsability for his actions and takes control of his life.

PSYCHO-PASS

PSYCHO-PASS

In the future, a system called Sibyl presides over the country and provides order to every facet of life. It dictates which job fields citizens should go into based on aptitude tests, and can even read each resident's mental state and predict which ones are likely to commit crimes in the future. Fresh from exams, Akane Tsunemori is beginning her career as an Inspector, a specialized police officer who works to apprehend these latent criminals and stop crimes before they happen. But not all that get caught are eliminated or jailed, some join the police force as Enforcers to provide insight into criminals’ minds, and Akane is warned not to get too close to them, as they're considered little more than hunting dogs. Though skeptical of this advice, and Sibyl's judgement, Akane is determined to work together with her Enforcers to protect the peace of her city and its inhabitants.

Both of these anime are set in an advanced dystopian future, although they are pretty different in story, they have a similar theme and aesthetic in many aspects and I think that if you enjoy one you will probably enjoy the other too.

both have a melancholic but happy feeling to them

both have really amazing visuals of the world that gives a melancholic but chill feeling to them

SundayDeveluke SundayDeveluke says...

Both are pretty much almost alike in most aspects. MC trying to fit in a group that's kind'a outside the norm. Lead girl in which the MC mostly directs most of his interest to. Main active time is night time.  The art style of both anime is basicaly the same. The sound and soundtrack of both is pretty amazing and memorable.

So overal the only difference in these two anime is the genre(Doesn't make much difference though).Check it out, doesn't matter which one you started with first.

the night city theme is similar and they are both somewhat of a romance. Filler for the word cunt..............................................................................

Underrated game anime, since people only think of arcane (even tho this isn't an anime) and edge runners, then maybe Castlevania.

Both have nice character building, story, and doesn't take you out of the immersion just because you know the game lore or played the game (problem i had with arcane since it just made me know that certain characters will have plot armour).Dota: dragon's blood is a bit slower in story since it is fairly low budget compared to some other game animes, but season 2 story does pick up really nicely, with some very nice plots and story in season 3

Same director, artstyle, aesthetics, chaotic narrative (though Dead Leaves is not as dark and brutal). Both have a male/female pair going up against the system.
