Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! Episode 8 - Love Wanders
As usual, Kinugawa and Yufuin are walking to Binan High School together as friends. But after a stop at the convenience store, Yufuin suddenly gets angry at Kinugawa and yells at him. A rift forms between the two, and soon a panic develops over them potentially leaving the Defense Club. Yumoto works blindly to try to get the two to make up, but Naruko and Zaou rebuke him for it. Will Yufuin and Kinugawa ever make up?!

While they have different plots, both series contain themes of friendship and plenty of hot pretty boys. Both contain plenty of "manservice", which includes naked (or half-naked) boys and BL-ish undertones. Free! is a bit more grounded and serious, while CHEDCL is a parody and more comical. Still, if you like series with hot anime boys then you may like both series.

If you enjoyer the ridiculousness of one, you'll enjoy the other :D Binan is slightly less packed with facepalming situations, and it has an actual *ekhem* p-plot *cough cough* but it doesn't make it any less funny, or the Destructive... too intense. Both series feature a specific kind of humor that might seem too much at first, but makes you actually snicker after a while.
