Hard-boiled gunslinger mercenaries in gritty science fiction setting. There's more than just the superficial tying the characters together, though. Aditionally, there's the primarily episodic structure of both shows that leads to gradually unfolding mysteries and character developmet.

To say how the music is simlair is only the tip of it since Lupin actually inspired Bebop on so many levels.

From the characters to the feel of it, smooth and neat all Bebop is Lupin in a different setting and a different twist. The Mine Fujiko character is the main inspiration for Faye and Spike could be mistaken for Lupin if set in a 1970s France

This spinoff could be how Bebop would have been if they made a spinoff about Faye, apart for the difference that Faye lives within the same ship as the group while Fujiko is more free spirit.

This is why i'd recommend seeing how one inspired the other and the other way around.

You can read my review more details but K definitely has that same cool, space cowboy atmostphere with intriguing characters that you only get to scratch into the surface of.

Also the soundtrack in K has that same vibe that Yoko Kanno provided in Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell.

Both are cool, casual, slow paced, and visual appealing with kind of a small town in a modern, futuristic world feel.

Basically, Joe is a precurssor to Bebop in a lot of ways.

They are a team of bounty hunter/odd job people who do the work that a police force in space can not. And they do it for the money.  Both titles have the groups, "Cowboy's in bebop, and "Crushers: in Crusher joe.  they live aboard a large ship that is their home and mode of transport.

Basically both titles will fill that need for action and space.

Crusher Joe

Crusher Joe

In the 22nd century, mankind has expanded into outer space. However, it was the Crushers who paved the way, performing jobs that ranged from terraforming to asteroid busting, warp lane plotting to transportation. These days, the Crushers still accept jobs of all kinds, so long as they're legal and ethical, and Crusher Joe's team is the best in the business! Joe, Alfin, Ricky, and Talos, along with the robot Dongo, take on jobs that require all the tools, tricks, and knowledge that the Crushers are known for. Of course, no job ever goes as expected. Whether it's rescuing prisoners trapped on an icy asteroid in a decaying orbit, or extracting a military officer charged with the safe keeping of a weapon of mass destruction from the clutches of insurrectionists, it's all part of the job to a Crusher, and that's before the mission goes sideways!

Despite the different genres, ZNT and Bebop are good recommends for each other. If you liked the closure of either ending, give the other a try. Both shows feature grey morality and a memorable cast of characters.

Both shows involve complex gadgetry and take place in space. Oh, and both crews have at least one member that's comedically scantily clad.
