Lelouch Lamperouge and Yagami Light share some characteristics. They both want too change the world at all cost. Not a single death is too much for them. Although there are no Mecha's in Death Note, and no Shinigami's in Code Geass, I am sure that if you liked the one, you will like the other, so jump into the lives of these Anti-Heroes, and see what they will do for their goals!

Both series revolve around the anti-hero trying to take over the world. Death Note is a darker themed version of the genre, and Code Geass has mech elements, but both series provide an interesting outlook on tyranny.

Though there isn't as much action in Death Note as there is in Code Geass, honestly, I don't believe that is the point of either anime. They're more psycological. If you liked the psycological factor of one, its the same issue in the other one. Though both are pleasantly different, they have the same aura, and I don't know anyone who like one but not the other.

If you were pleased by Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion then you will admire Death Note. The plot is similar to Code Geass, but it has a more unsuspected ending. In both of the animes, the main characters let out the evil that was hidden in them. They get overpowered by the power to rule. It would be rude of me to spoil the anime. Try Death Note, you won't regret it.

Both of these anime series share something in common, and that is a protagonist with a desire to change the world. Such a powerful desire though can lead to many dangers and a dysfunctional personality, as you will find from observing Lelouch from Code Geass and Light from Death Note.

Interestingly, Lelouche and Light are very similar in how they share a very deceptive personality, and how throughout the two series it's often a battle of logic between the protagonist and his nemesis.

These two series have a lot in common, and I can guarantee that if you liked one you will like the other.

Death Note and Code Geass both follow a similar principle: High school student gets a strange power, in one case the Death Note and the other Geass, and try to change the world with it. Both weilders of the power have amazing thinking capabilities and are the most brilliant strategists of their world, knowing both themselves and everyone around them far too well because of their personal behavior.

Both anime focus on deathmatch between two masterminds. In both cases you will probably side with the evil one, even though it depends on point of view. Both baddies are just brilliant and you always wonder how the heck are they gonna solve this problem. Also both series focus on moral dilemma. Is it bad to kill criminal? Is it right to set free your country at all costs? How far are you able to go to fullfill your mission? Are you able and willing to sacrifice your own life for your dream? These are questions you will ask yourself after you saw both of these series.

And also... final scenes of both these anime are just going to catch you unprepared... you will not be able to tell whether the ending is good or not. 

If you want to watch and think a little and not just watch, then watch these anime.

Code Geass and Death Note both have a smart, resolute main character with strong ideals. What if someone like that were to be given the power to achieve those goals? Code Geass and Death Note answer that question. These shows are more about strategic battles of wits then anything else. If you liked Code Geass R2, and haven't yet seen Death Note yet, give it a shot, you won't regret it.

Both of these series have a very strong physiological approach to them with very intricate plots and well thought out plans. Also, in both of them, the main character is given a new power and a chance to change the world they live in.

Both series feature an Anti-Hero protagonist, with an almost unobtainable goal.  Until each acquire an incredibly powerful tool which allows them a chance to grasp their goal.  Zero/Lelouch gains the Geass, Kira/Light gains the Death Note.  If you like one, you will undoubtedly love the other.

Both shows are about teenager who tries to be god of a new world. Both of them are students with high intelligent, so it's not hard for them to manipulate with other people. Kira and Lelouch are trying to create a world without badness, because they have their own purpose for doing that. Kira and Lelouch chose very cruel way of doing that.  Even though Code geass has more action, it's really similar to Death note.

If you liked Death Note or Code Geass, you'd like other because Death Note = Code Geass. It's not copy of each other but it's very very simmilar. They has many things in common. The stories and characters of both animes are very simmilar. The difference is that Code Geass has more action.

As Yagami Light wants to destroy all the evil in the world, Lelouch wants the same. They both wants to make a new world and be the God of that world.

There's more things in common between these animes, but I won't write them because I don't want to spoil you.

Both the first and second season of Code Geass display an anti-hero whose main objective is good. They both are (relatively) normal people who attain great power and use it in some harsh ways for the end result of good. Also, the main theme of both is really a battle of wits, so if you liked one, you'll like the other.

Both Code Geass and Death Note are very similar, in the fact that they seem (at least to me) like psychological thrillers. You are always on the edge of your seat wanted to watch the next episode. Both Main characters are extremely intelligent and use their powers to "cleanse the world of criminals"

If you watch one and like it, i would definately recommend watching this. This sequel is very well put together.

These are both really great anime series! They have a very similar feel in terms of intelligence and structure, although I prefer Code Geass over Death note, they certainly come close to each other in my books.

Death Note and Code Geass are quite similar. Guy acquires power and uses it to reach his goal. The ending is a lot different though. If you liked one you are sure to like the other. They both bring suspended leaving you to want to watch the next episode to see what happens to the main character.

Code Geass and Death Note have many similarities: obviously the fact that Lelouch (CG) and Light (DN) are very alike, and that both series follow the story of a teenager attempting to change the world using a form of supernatural power (Lelouch has the Geass, Light has the Death Note)

The are both mental animes. Although Code Geass has a lot more action they both are mostly about the mental game. They involve a great deal of action and character/story development with both a sidekick and a major rival. Two of the best animes I have seen, they really make you think.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 and Death Note are very simular. Both rely on the main protagonist to strategically make a plan to outsmart the other characters. They both have obtained a special power that helps them along their way to their goal. Code Geass however is on a much bigger scale then Death Note.

Both Death note and Code geass 2 are the finishing of the schemes they have come up with. Wether it all turns out right or wrong. They each have where they think they are destroyed or where they know they will over come. Each of the main characters analyze and analyze so they know what exactly will happen. They know what the other person is going to do.

Also I like how both of the main characters motives for what they do are good (positive or at least righteous). I was rooting for both of them if you get me. =D

A super smart high schooler who gains a power beyond human understanding, where he can control and kill anyone by writing their name in the death note. A psychological anime with a large link to religion with awesome music. However, I would only recommend till L is defeated.

Not an apples-to-apples comparison, by any means, but I think it's fair to say that Death Note could appeal to Code Geass fans.  A couple of fair warnings, no real action/fighting sequences, Light is NOT Lelouch, and the plot takes a good while to ramp up.  But if you're patient will all of those things, you will be rewarded with a dark, high-brow, edge of your seat thriller unlike any you will find in the animated world.

Both Code Geass R2 and Eden of the East focus on character that intends to change the world by becoming a scapegoat for social problems. In both shows the main character creates a villainous persona that the masses loathe and consequently unite against.

Maybe it's CLAMP's story telling way that makes me think this recommendation is a good idea.

In both, Code Geass (especially the R2 part) and X-TV:

* The main cast chooses their role in war to accomplish what they believe in, and both sides are simultaneously "right" and "wrong".

* The main character risks everything he has to make sure the people he loves will have a future (Kamui, for Fuma and Kotori; Lelouch for his sister Nunally).

* The future, human emotions/actions and wishes play a very important part in the story.

* A tragedy waits to happen (and does happen).

If you liked any of those aspects in one of the series, you'll like it just as much in the other. At least I got the same "feeling" from both.

X TV and Code Geass feature the same character design (designed by CLAMP). In both shows the main leads are fighting in a war to protect the people that they love and to accomplish their own goals. Both of them are pretty tragic shows where deaths of beloved persons are like the meal of the day. If you liked one, for sure you will enjoy the other one as well.

Both mechas for people who hate mechas, R2 and Evangelion share similar qualities in their presentation of psychological and philosophical drama riddled with familial and political intrigue.  If you liked the (often-difficult) character development, complex secrets, philosophical questions and fast pace of R2, you'll probably like Evangelion as well.

Both shows have larger than life dramas with "mechas"; howver, they both also concentrate heavily on the personal relations between characters, allowing for viewing experiences that are never stale. The major theme within each show also revolves heavily around collective conscience versus individuality.

Both stories are great and epic, hard to see two anime of this kind!

Mecha are very well involved in both stories, but still they aren't the only base the story is made on.

What about characters? Very different in one anime from the other but for sure the same way deep as only a few of other anime series have.

If you liked the fast-paced plot, enormous cast and genre/mood-meshing of R2, you'll almost certainly like TTGL.  TTGL is another story of casting off the chains of oppression and changing the world... by means of mecha fights and bravado, but is more upbeat and tongue-in-cheek than R2.  Despite its more lightweight (in a good way) approach, the non-stop fighting, speech-giving, big revelations, politics, and power-plays in TTGL make it a good bet for fans of R2.

The second part of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and the second season of Code Geass share the political instability that is usually seen in the aftermath of war and the creation of a new government. Rossiu's political trifles are comparable to Lelouch's hardships in maintaining the Empire of Brittania and that is where we can see the similarity in both titles. Other than politics, we also have a female supportive role that is strongly present in both titles in the form of Yoko Littner, Nia Teppelin, and Lelouch's ever faithful C.C.

These shows have several similar aspects like rebel forces fighting for freedom against large oppressing forces (Brittannia/A-LAWS), over-the-top battle scenes with a few far superior mechas being able to fight againsta large number of enemies on it's own and characters with beyond human capabilities.

Gundam 00 and Code Geass R2 have much in common. The storyline of both series is similar yet spectacular in their own ways. Both involve a group of people trying to change the world and rid it from oppression yet they both do so in their own unique ways. The only difference between them would be that Gundam 00 expands to space while Code Geass remains on earth.

League of the Galactic Heroes and Code geass Characters are very similar in ways, both Lelouch and Prince Loghengramm are trying to make the future better, while Yang Wenli and Suzaku are trying to improve the present, while both anime present the goal of Unifying the world/universe in there storylines, both anime have very compelling storylines and if you loved one there should be a 99.9% of you enjoying the other!!!

Ambition, and epic science fiction are in both of these titles. The main lead is a man driven in both series. 

If you enjoyed the aspect of sweeping desires and the men who drive them then you could enjoy both of these equally.

Both Gundam Seed and Code Geass R2 have strong political focus despite being mecha at heart and relatively fast-paced stories. They also both deal with the ethics and tragedies of war and take a slightly cheesy shounen approach. If you liked the feel of one, you'll definitely like the other as well.

You'll like Toward the Terra TV after Code Geass if you're looking for more powerful political plotting that's tragic and full of personal twists. Toward the Terra portrays far deeper characters whose development is key to the story, whereas Code Geass is far more about Lelouch's strategies, but for a powerful emotional effect with more stunnin sci-fi concepts, you can't go wrong with Toward the Terra TV.

If you like animes with dark type of theme, where the main character, a guy, gets his entire life changed and gets a new resolve in life right after he meets that one girl. Code Geass and Demonbane, both have characters that have their entire lives changed and are willing to risk it all, because they have been granted power by the girls they met.
