Long ago, a powerful demon lord ruled over the people until an equally powerful hero rose up to defeat him. To counter future threats, Rosewood Academy, a school for heroes-in-training, was created. Today, Rosewood Academy enrolls only the best of the best, and Arnest Flaming is the best of them all. The top student in the school, a dutiful girl nicknamed "Empress of Flame," she has an irritating encounter with a light-hearted boy in the school hallway one day who seems to equal her powers, though she's never seen him before. He introduces himself only as Blade, and Arnest soon finds out not only is he transferring into the school as a new student, but she is personally requested by the King to help him settle in to daily life in Rosewood Academy.
This show is okay to kill time with. some funny moments, some ecchi moments, some action-y moments. Nothing particulary original and also entirely episodic. Something to watch in “brain -> off” mode.
This was genuinly one of the most entertaining things ive watched in a long time. its not one specific thing that makes this show enjoyable, its a combination of the various characters hilarious actions intersecting with just enough drama and suspense to make you appreiciate it all the more, like expresso with ice cream a little bitter lets you better savor the sweet. This is a comedy, its ridiculous and absurd and thats what makes it great, so what if the plot is a little nonsesenical or theres shoe horned tropes and character types, the effect is a show that had me breathlesss from laughter the emtire season and the dramatic moments almost had me in tears.
This anime is just... bad. The pacing is weird, the characters are not well thought out, the plot is barely there, and it just has too much going on. It's like they tried to cram way too many tropes into a show. Like the main character is supposed to be there to regain his powers after he lost them in a battle with the demon king but he's already super overpowered from the start so I don't get that part of it. Instead of having the different tropes like op characters, harem-esque settings, ecchi, fantasy, school, slice of life in different amounts and having one main focus with the others sprinkled in they just cranked the dial on all of the tropes up to 11 and called it good. The animation is good and so is the voice acting and character design but that is just the aesthetics of the show. It's not something that makes me want to keep watching after episode 4 and there are still some main characters to be introduced.
