The show had potential, I liked the dichotomy between the two main characters and wanted to see how they would resolve their differences but then.... well.. no that was just to close the the four letter r word, no it was that word, thats just not okay.

This made me SO uncomfortable. They are step sisters.. I couldn't bring myself to watch the rest. That was the only thing that bothered me though. If you're okay with that, I guess it would be okay to watch. I dont really have a say since I've only watched a few episodes.

I did absolutely love this anime and the characters were amazing and the story was great! At times, it was repetitive in the sense that at times, all it was was Yuku chasing after Mei and Mei running from her...I honestly didnt feel like the plot got any better as the episodes went by which is kind of a bummer for me, but the characters did keep my attention and made me want to continue watching to see where this relationship or lack of would actually go. All in all, great anime, but I do wish the plot would have been a little bit better! I would definitely recommend this!

This was so much better than I expected! I remember reading the manga a long time ago, and loving it, but I honestly didn't have high hopes for the anime because we're lucky when we get a good romance anime, but a good GAY romance anime? The chances are slim, the chances are always slim. However! I believe that this was good. 

For me, the plot and the constant drama was amsuing. Especially during the first few episodes! i was straight up laughing at some of the drama Yuzu was causing, and the whole time,,, I stood by her??? she did what she had to do????? she was just full of anger and passion and sometimes that's annoying, but I honestly think she was a likeable main character (and main characters ALWAYS SUCK, especially in romance anime, so this is important to me).

As for the step sister side of it... I was like, DAMN, yuzu! Can you stop trying to be a good sister already Mei clearly wants to fuck ! but nevertheless, it oddly added a comforting level of care to their relationship, and since they weren't actually sisters, the word incest was never brought up, which is very much encoruaged when exploring this theme. Like.... don't remind me this is technically wrong and gross. just let me enjoy anime at 3am in my bedroom.

Matsuri though. jesus christ. i have never wanted to hit a thirteen year odl with a bus so badly. she was asking for it, straight up. the way she was messign around for NO REASON ? she was all,,,,, im yuzus little sister,,,,, not mei,,,,,,,, even though mei clearly just wanted to fuck yuzu like ???? matsuri get in ur lane and go text old men for money, or whatever the fuck you do as a MIDDLE SCHOOLER ? Where were her parents. Why did her parents just leave her alone. she is the product of negligent parenting.

The other characters were cool. Harumi was the cute mom friends with interests. the vice president was... there. and only got in the way for a little bit.

don't get me STARTED on the twins that were introduced in the last couple of episodes though. jesus christ. what was their problem. they were more incestuous than the actual sisters who were making out all the time. me and my brother dont like play like that lemme tell you.

so why did i give character such a high rating??? MEI ! mei was so well made. at the start, she was the cold president, then she was the mysterious sad girl, the doting and dutiful daughter, the lesbian disaster, the bitch, the good person??? she was so moving to me. i liked her a lot. and her and yuzu were such a good fit, which is what made them so shippable, and this such an enjoyable watch

the music wasn't anything special, and the animation wasn't amazing, but hey, you can't have everything! and i thought this was really good, good enough to watch in one sitting, anyways.

Citrus is an amazing anime with a hard to get cliche ending. (Depending on what characters you liked in the anime! it was cliche for me!) the story line kinda taps you on the shoulder to get your attention. Awesome yuri scenes don't worry, and its hella interesting. You'll find your self really drawn into the anime the deeper you find yourself watching the episodes. So i really hope you enjoy it! One could say its incest, however, they are not at all related not even by cousins but by marriage of their parents. So it does count. 😤
