Chrono Crusade what can I say it was an interesting anime for me. I want to start out by saying how I came across this anime.

One late night I was browsing my TV channels and I came across one of the channels that I watched.The SyFi channel, when they were still streaming anime late night. So I think looking back it was the last episode that they were airing. That is the first time it got my attention. But it isnt till recently I watched this anime.

ok onto the review ..

Story [9.5]:The story line in this anime I found interesting were Devils and Humans have to team together to keep the balance of Heaven and Hell. I like that concept. But here is the part that I hated. The perverted Elder, the suppose funny scenes. With an anime that is about the balance of heaven and Hell I really don't think it was needed. In other reviews I feel like I repeat myself but Im saying what comes too mind as I jot some notes as im watching the anime. This is too me an serious topic , I would understand if it was just once or twice. But it was about every other episode that there was this "Funny"scene. Another thing to mention that I didnt really care for is that ... well more like understand is on episode 3 the Splash Party.

Animation [10/10]:The Animation on here is like the standard for the time period that this came out in. But too me it was a little more well polished.Other than that I didn't notice that too much , that caught my eye.. Wait there was !! One thing I did notice that I didn't care for .. Is Roses sly face or the suppose funny scared little girl.

Sound [10/10]:For the sound I am basing the ratiing on the opening and the ending songs. And I must say it was a perfect match for the anime. If you want also something that isnt the OP or the EDis that there are beautiful Gospel songs on here.

Characters [8/10]:There is one reason for this , it is because of the stupid funny parts of the characters. Meaning the stupid things like Rose crashing the cars all the time. 

Overall [9/10]:Overall even with the stupid funny scenes of this anime I found it quite enjoyable. If I had to recommend this to someone I would say this. If you like Devils , Fast pacing nunse , and a tad sense of humor. Then you will truly enjoy this anime..

This anime was the first adult anime, that I washed, and it was not a bad start. The ending reminded of Titanic's ending, really, REALLY sad, but good. 

I like the story, but I don`t like the ending. If you ask me, then the ending in a anime is one of the most important things. Don`t get me wrong I am not saying, that the anime is bad just because of the ending. There`s a different between a shitty ending, and a bad ending. This ending is not shitty, I just don`t like that the only people, that were skilled enough to kill the demons died.      

I do recommend this anime. I might have given it 4/10, but that is only because of the ending. The rest of the show is funny and dramatic, and I am glad that I watched it.

There are two things, that I don`t understand. The first one is, why are all the women soldiers dressed like nuns, that is not suitable for combat. I know that they are fighting demons, but come on, but it is an anime so it is okay. The second thing is why are the scientists able to sneak under the nuns dress, and not get spotted. The scientist does get beaten up when he do it, but the nuns only see him when he begins to talk.

Chrono Crusade

 

I saw this anime many years ago and remembered it very positively. I gave him another try to see how good he really is. Of course, it didn't meet my expectations.

The concept is nothing new and has not been implemented individually. The anime adaptation in particular had the problem of distancing itself from the manga and could barely maintain the tension. Which caused some episodes to drag on enormously and had nothing to offer in terms of content. So was the final.

The thing that most entertained me about the anime was the consequences and the price. Towards the end, the characters had to be confronted with the price of their entire fight, and this was implemented quite interestingly. This made the work look much darker and more serious.

Story

On the part of the actual plot there were only 1-2 minimal twists and everything else was quite exposed. Virtually nothing happened to the plot by the end. Good fought evil and then there was a final battle and that's it. The only interesting thing here was the consequences in the end.

Animation / pictures

Quite below average. An enormous number of still images and there was no dynamic. The atmosphere was somewhat trapped, but it all felt way too lifeless. Not even the comedy scenes could give this play any more life. At least one cannot speak of a wasted budget here.

Characters

Most Stereo Type personalities were at least represented. A Tsundere, Nice Boy, Cute Loli, Mad Milf made an interesting team. In terms of personality, none of them were particularly interesting or engaging in any way. I was also hardly able to build up emotions for such flat personalities because they simply did not have any deep ones. Ambitions are all well and good, but just having a goal in mind doesn't make a character worth mentioning.

 

Music

East average.

I like the intro on the other hand, at least because of the nostalgia. Also fits solidly with the theme of this adventure story.

Conclusion

It's an anime that many newcomers to the anime scene might like, as I did 10 years ago. However, it can offer very little and cannot be distinguished by any quality

Story: I found the plot very good and entertaining, however it was too sexualized it almost seemed as if the author had a nun kink. For a christian movie it had too much boobs, and panty shots, also the inappropriate behavior of the Edward was more on border of molestation. Apart from that I like demon, angel themes, so it was quite good, the begining too was fairly good if not for the nakedness.

Animation: It was ok it wasn't great but wasn't bad either, it's a more older style of drawing so I found it still quite enjoyable to watch.

Sound: It was ok, Rosette was a bit too rough in tone, but somehow I really adored the eng dub of Chrono's voice, I dunno it suited him really well in my opinion, it was nice to listen to him talk hehe

Characters: I likes all of the characters instead of Edward, and Aion who seemed like total perverts, I suppse it's understandable from Aion, who was a demon but Edward had no reasons to be this perverse, especially if he works at a chruch.

Rosette's dress too is very un holy like, no nun would ever wear such revealing clothes that show the sides of her legs.

Chrono is the one character who makes it all worth a watch, he is cute, and seems to be the most holy which is rather strange for a demon hehe but I love how cute and kind he is to everyone, and as for me he is the one saving the rest of the characters.

Other then that it is a pretty okaish anime, not something I'd fawn over but it is quite good as a watch, It depends on who like's what, if someone likes boobs, and pervesions in anime then the rating for the story would of been bigger, but for me it kinda ruined the show.

One of those Anime that when it came out almost twenty years ago I added to my watchlist (at that time existing only in my head), because the access to Anime back then has not been comparable to now.

Now finally I took the time to catch up with it. On the one hand my expectations were of course relatively high, on the other hand I was aware, it would surely not meet them properly.

Story

Concerning the story and excitement, you can feel definitely how old this Anime is. Most of the time it is pretty unspectacular like many other Anime that came out in the early 00s. You do not really have the urge to watch the next episode immediately after finishing the previous one and it has a lack of really innovative elements (at least out of todays point of view admittedly). Nevertheless some of the twists and the also the ending I could not foresee which is at least a little plus for the story. In generall I at least like alot the basic idea of good and evil working together the way they do in this Anime.

Animation

I like the drawing stile, especially for such an old Anime. There isn't anything particularly bad about it, but of course it doesn't particularly stand out either.

Sound

After 24 episodes the soundtrack is relatively repetitive, cause there are seemingly only three pieces of music used for three different types of tenses. Opening and Ending are definitely among the better ones beyond the broad mass. An outstanding Opening is a big plus for every Anime in my opinion.

Characters

The main character Rosette was the one real reason for me staying on the series. Very likable, an understandable and sufficiently far-reaching development throughout the (relatively short) series.
But what was the greatest pleasure to me personally: The voice actor of the german dub is one of my favorites. In general the german dub is definitely a good option for all german viewers.
Concerning Rosette I am one of those, who enjoyed seeing her with quite little clothes in and after hard battles, but that is of course just a matter of taste.

All in all not a bad Anime, but in my opinion not one of the top tier neither.
You do not miss very much, if you watch it, but it is pretty entertaining here and there.
