Cagaster of an Insect Cage - Reviews

Quite frankly I did enjoy this particular story.
The characters were all great, the setting and even the stories told were fantastic.
My only gripe with the whole anime in question is that the pacing was WAY too fast.
From episode 1 - 7 the whole pacing from everything to the main story to even little sub-stories or sub plots. everything is thrown at you and/or shoved in your face very quickly.
To be honest the anime feels like it should have a few more episodes than what it currently has. (12)
It just feels like everything is being explained too quickly and then right when we start processing the information BAM! more information.

I know this isn't much of a review and I'm writing this with not a whole lot of time to spare but I thought I'd get out my opinion of the show overall.

Long story short, the pacing is too quick.
The story isn't too bad, I enjoyed it.
Animation's on point.
Sound is actually pretty good.
Characters are enjoyable (except for when you first see lizzie but I guess that's just me)
Overall, worth the watch. 6.5

Quite interesting story, but shitty animation

(spoiler free review) i rly enjoyed the first half of this show. It did a good job in making me care about the characters early on, and very soon i came to adore them and their antics. The comedy parts were cute, plus my shojo heart was like yess XD. On the flip side, i am quite dissapointed in how the 2nd half of the show went. It started with information overload, and then became unnecessarily draggy frm then on. So i hv conflicted feelings on this show but i would still recommend to fans of fantasy and romance

(spoilers) r there quite a bit of plot holes or am i just dumb? Lol. Plus the romance between kido and ille is cute but could hv been developed better imo. 

With a Story set an a post apocalypse world ruled by humans who have turned into bugs known as cagasters this anime had a good settle to work with, but didn't deliver. The pacing felt a bit awkward with the first part introducing several side characters who don't really impact the plot, but only waiting till the final act to introduce the actually important side characters. I think it tries to keep them mysterious, but the “plot twists” if you can call them that, fall flat. Unfortunately with a wasteland setting the background can often be bleak and dull. The animation doesn't help either as many of the characters look like  reanimated corpses.

Ms Mario is the star in my opinion easily over shinning the overly naive heroine Ilie, and the overly stoic hero Kidow. Ms Mario works to guide each of these characters into being less lame. They do change and develop a little, and by the end I started actually liking them. Something that bothered me was the weird sexual tension between the two leads. Ilie is 14 while I thought Kidow was a full grown adult...but I'm now choosing to believe he's either 16 or 17.

The music wasn't memorable at all. With a plain story, thrown together characters and an awkward love story subplot I think this anime is just okay.

No esta mal pero tampoco te pierdes nada.

Estamos ante una buena idea que podria haber sido mucho mejor. La historia nos situa en un mundo posapocaliptico donde 1/3 de la poblacion mundial ha contraido un extraño virus que los hacen convertirse en insectos gigantes y devorar a todo el que tenga enfrente, la idea pienso que puede funcionar muy bien, un mundo destruido, con paisajes nunca vistos, lleno de gran variedad de insectos donde nuestro protagonista tendra que sobrevir....pues nada de eso, la mayoria de capitulos transcurren en una ciudad más o menos pacifica y segura por tanto no se explota la idea. Otra cosa de como han llevado la historia que no me convence es el tema del virus, no dan motivo de porque se produce ni tampoco parece que importe buscar una cura pese a que se ven estudios y laboratorios sobre este. Pese a todo esto las cosas que suceden no son para nada desechables e incluso entretiene lo suficiente como para quedarte enganchado.

En cuanto a los dos protagonistas no estan mal pero sus actitudes son algo planas y hacen cosas que no termino de entender el porque (sobre todo el protagonista).

En fin, mediocre pero disfrutable, del monton pero no del malo, cerdo pero no iberico.
