Both anime are about an eccentric group of people using supernatural powers to fight against strange crimes in their cities. They appeal to a similar sense of humor while also having dark undertones.

It's hard to fully judge BSD yet since only one episode is out, however, it's clear to see that both shows share more than just their animation studio. Both involve protagonists with superpowers getting involved in a crime-fighting group comprised of super-people. It seems the two shows may end up going in different directions, but if you like one of these and need more for your superpowered anime fix, you should definitely check out the other.

An organization with superpowers who fight others with superpowers or beasts. It is very similar although so far I think Bungou is the better of the two.

Detective agencies with super powers, funny in the midst of serious situations.  Characters are always fighting within each other, but teamwork always seems to win out and the cases are solved, either with a good ending or a bad one.  Small twists in the stories keeps you interested, even if you know they will solve the mystery in the end of the episode or two.

Magical detective agencies chock full of bishonen men and one or two female characters. Interesting crimes that relate to their powers too.

Two very similar animes in story, charachters and animation. If you enjoy one you will definitely enjoy the other.

Has similar dynamics such as the supernatural and plotline aspects. Involves MC gaining/finding their power although one is based in a detective agency and the other enters the schooling scene. Both have humorous tones although they follow a serious man vs self conflict. TW for Bungou stray dogs as it has suicide/abuse themes. Both are in the action genre so violence and death is included.

They both have that great comedy-action mix that's really enjoyable to watch (at least for me), and complex characters with emotional backstories that manage to get you every time.
