The second season of Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki.
Project No.9’s reprise of its 2021 show is quite hard to stomach. We quite enjoyed season one but season two is a different ball game. It is a simple extension of the existing plot with key character Fumiya Tomozaki continuing his journey from gamer-outcast to popular-boy aided with his “real world game” tutor Aoi Hinami. The original premise was fun and intriguing. However, the new season in 2024 is utterly un-engaging as it gets so wrapped up inside itself it can no longer see daylight. We honestly completely lost the plot within a few episodes in. It is jam packed full of waffle. There is endless interpersonal politics and philosophy. Teenagers stand around having deeply meaningful conversations in a way no teenager (or adult) ever has. What they are babbling on about is completely beyond any comprehension. This was utter nonsense from beginning to end. Pretensions to the max. Zero entertainment value. Self-important twaddle. Avoid. Simply dreadful.
