Claymore

Claymore

In times of olde, humans live in constant fear of demons known as yoma. These vicious creatures can take the appearance and memories of humans they have devoured, thus blending into society as they freely feast on human flesh. The key to stopping the yoma lies with the tolerated yet feared Claymores - women who are half-demon, half-human, and fully fated to become the demons that they hunt. Meanwhile, in a village, the young Raki has been banished; his only crime was losing his family to the yoma. Raki is drawn to a Claymore named Clare, and together their journey begins. While Clare fights the yoma plaguing the land, can Raki help her in her struggle to retain her humanity?

Skavo Skavo says...

Although there is less storyline development in Claymore (not to say there is no development, however), if you enjoyed the hack 'n slash swordplay in Blood+ you will probably like Claymore as well.

GodsDragon GodsDragon says...

Both Claymore and Blood+ are full of demon-slaying action. Both series also have an in-depth story that keeps you wanting more. Both series have a female lead character that has a soft side but can be brutal at times.

RaptorClaw RaptorClaw says...

Both Blood+ and Claymore have heroines with unique abilities, fighting and slashing demons. These girls have to fight monsters outside and inside alike, as part of them wants to join the monsters in their bloodshed. The only thing keeping them together are their friends.

Katakana Katakana says...

Both Claymore and Blood+ are about fighting monsters that feed on human flesh, and can turn themselves into the human form. What is particularly similar in both stories is the that the leading characters are female warriors who happen to be (partly or completely) the very monsters they are fighting against.

Eindbaas Eindbaas says...

Swords, monsters, and drama; those are the three best keywords that describe the similarity between Blood+ and Claymore. In both, the main female character wields a sword to slay monsters and protect humanity. Also, the character relationships are very alike.

freakzilla freakzilla says...

Blood+ and Claymore can be looked at as basic hack-n-slash anime, in which a strong female protagonist fights fearsome demons (both inside and outside). It isn't uncommon for blood to be spilled during all of the sword fights either.

However, they can also be looked at from a storytelling point-of-view. Blood+ definitely has more of a story, but the characters have a similar dark and sad past, and have seemingly impossible goals. What separates them from each other is the story it takes to get to those goals.

Caraniel Caraniel says...

If you like a strong female lead who deals out death with a sword, along with a healthy dose of demon-slaying, then Claymore and Blood+ are for you! Both series have these features in spades. The female leads both have aspects within them of the creatures they hunt, and the plots deal with how they cope in a world that doesn't fully trust them. Claymore and Blood+ both have very strong plots and instantly recognisable, visually-pleasing graphics. If you enjoy one you will surely enjoy the other.

melonjuice melonjuice says...

Both Claymore and Blood+ have a dark, cold, and silent sword-wielding main female character that kills demons for revenge. Both anime have a very good plot and animation; you'll love them both!

dunkyrok dunkyrok says...

Although set in different times, Blood+ and Claymore have a very dark and broody feel about them. The main characters in both (sword-wielding young ladies) are treated as the chosen one, but human emotion and the concept of family often gets in the way of the main character's quest. There is also the presence of governing organisations in both Claymore and Blood+ that at times appear to have their own agenda, and do not always follow the interests of the heroine.

Therefore, both heroines face a struggle between being able to remain human whilst embracing the demonic powers that will help them to be victorious . Add to this some excellent action scenes and a discovery of a hidden past and you have two excellent series that share many features but remain enjoyable in their own right.

Perpetualchaos Perpetualchaos says...

Both have a character fighting against demons that are also part of themselves. A dark theme runs through both and the fighting involved is bloody in both. The main character of each have human companions who cannot fight as well as them or do the things they do but refuse to give up on them.

tasanime tasanime says...

These two series revolve around female protagonists who inevitably must fight that which they are: demons. Both series do this in a way which captivates the viewer through an intriguing and unpredictable plot, stopping them from becoming your typical slash-fest. The character development also contributes to this based on the bonds & ties they unwittingly make with others and a sense of duty they must follow at risk to their own human sanity. If you found these aspects attractive in one, then undoubtedly you'll be drawn to the other like a moth to a flame. Although I will say that Clare (Claymore) is a lot more willing to fight than Saya (Blood+) which makes her story the more action based of the two.

cerberus38 cerberus38 says...

In both of these series, the main protagonists are girls whose jobs are to slash up monsters. Both series have a similar look to it. Riku and Raki, supporting characters, even look similar. Blood+ is more emotional and has better character development and plot, but essentially they are very similar in nature.

holyzac holyzac says...

These 2 animes are animes with loads of fancy swordplay that would be enough to keep you glued to your seat for hours! The plot is somewhat similiar where the main character fights for their survival againts monsters. Some sad sacrifices of friends here and there but overall an anime good enough for you =)

crawller crawller says...

In both Blood+ and Claymore the main character is female with a nasty sword. They also are partially what thay are fighting against, (demon). If you really liked the demon slaying in one of theese animes i think you would like the other.

Jesta Jesta says...

Both excellent action anime that revolve around vampires, and the struggle they have with themselves, and their humanity.

Oehr Oehr says...

If you liked the fighting scenes and characters of the anime you saw, I bet you fell in love with this series as well, after all, the character's personalities are similar and the fighting scenes are excellent!!

Qwero Qwero says...

Bothseries are about girls with special powers that can kill demons. In both series the girls are also half demon, and it is their quest to destory all the evil demons in the world. Both had a sad past, and they both are trying to seek revenge. If you'd like the first serie, you'd like the other one as well because the story of both series is pretty simmelear

If you enjoy the chiroptera in Blood+ then you will really enjoy the Yoma in Claymore.  If you are liek me and enjoyed Blood and wanted more action in Blood+ then Claymore will most likely keep you enthralled.

wolfangel87 wolfangel87 says...

The series Blood + and Claymore involve strong female leads that are aloof and cold up front but display tender moments in them.  Each takes part in slaying the demons of the world but also have to look within themselves to control their own demons.  Both have a fantasy like quality to them with intense animation.

KiyoneSaya KiyoneSaya says...

Both have strong female protagonist that are connected to the creatures they hunt and held together by it's friends that help them keep their humanity.

"OMGZ THEY ARE BOTH GIRLS WHO ARE NOT FULLY HUMAN AND BOTH HAVE SWORDS AND KICK THE SHIT OUT OF MONSTERS OMG RUN ON SENTENCES NO PUNCTUATION!"

However, there's some truth to the above statement but I'd like to get into Blood+. If you really liked Blood+ and thought the story was riveting, loved the gore and the fight scenes, and loved Saya as a bad ass monster killing female main character, then you'll absolutely LOVE Claymore. Now, what I said about Blood+ is giving it a little too much credit. Don't get me wrong, I liked the show, but I just felt that Saya didn't take charge enough for me(at least till the end) and I cringed at a lot of the dialog. There was also just way many too cliche moments and typical "feel good story" music during the first half of the series. It's at least underwhelming for an anime with an R rating.

Claymore's R rating on the other hand is well deserved. It is WAY more violent and bloody than Blood+ and the langue is a lot more coarse as well. Claire and Saya both come into their own a bit midway into the shows but Claire has a lot more depth to her in my opinon and is a lot more entertaining. Both girls are trying to rid the world of monsters, even though they are both types of monsters themselves.

All and all, If you liked Blood+ and don't mind a shorter series with more violence and swearing, then chances are you'll love Claymore. If you watched Claymore first and are expecting a lot from Blood+, chances are you'll be let down a bit, but will still enjoy the series.

Galadriel Galadriel says...

Claymore and Blood+ have a similar concept, a female protagonist fighting with demons, vampires, monsters to protect humankind, this is their fate and it was forced upon them, they did not choose it. Both animes feature alot of bloody and violent scenes, alot of gore and horror scenes as well. If you like bloody violent animes then be sure to check out both Claymore and Blood+.

MOJ MOJ says...

Determined female protagonists, human eating monsters, and lots of blood. The theme of protecting loved ones is present in both animes.

shinigamidono shinigamidono says...

Both series are full of blood and female characters that are very skilled with sharp metal objects.

this anime is vary goob blood+  and claymore are about girls who must fight demons but there is also a a bigger thing they must fight with both have companys they " work for"  but they just want to get out of it but for diff reasons there are many recomendindg the two so its a must see for both yaya

React React says...

It is like Blood+... Just watched it and it was great. To short of a series though. This anime had alot of feeling, character development, and action to boot. This is a classic anime the people should stop and take the time to watch, if they haven't.

nymeara nymeara says...

Both of these animes have sword-wielding female wariors and similar atmospheres of intensity. There's plenty of gore and violence. Claymore and Blood+ also happen to be two of the best animes I've seen.  Saya and Claire both face extreemly powerful demon-like beasts. The two protagonists also draw their powers from a dark source.

AnnaCupcake AnnaCupcake says...

Both Saya and Claire have to defeat their ultimate enemy. Also both anime have a great plot, female protagonist and plenty of gore.

Gavia Gavia says...

Both are action/horror series featuring not-quite-human girls fighting monsters with swords.

Nanamy Nanamy says...

There's so much in common with these series, in both the main character is a female sword fighter with unique abilities to destroy the monsters and she's not human at all, Both involve a journey to find peace both have a little romance too.

Kucziczu Kucziczu says...

Both Claymore and Blood+ involves a lot of action dealing with the supernatural specifically demons. The main female protagonist in both series are literally weapons with extraordinary abilities. The only thing that keeps them from going insane are their companions. Additionally, both series' main female protagonist also has a dark past that is filled with tragedies and sorrow.

Blood+ is more dramatic and involves vampires, whereas Claymore is more of an action-adventure about mysterious demons called "yoma." The use of art in both is done spectacularly, and both contain unique, well thought-out plots—much different from the generic shows made nowadays.

If you are going from Blood+ to Claymore, a more aggressive and intense show awaits you, while the transition from Claymore to Blood+ can be a letdown only if you thrive on scenes filled with gore. The length of Blood+ is wonderful as Claymore is shorter. Either way, if you are a fan of one show, you will most likely be a fan of the other as the action in both are very entertaining.

Ottacker Ottacker says...

both revolve around female characters (who arent fully human) fighting and killing monsters with a sword. and there is a male character accompaying them likewise. very similar, tho blood+ has a bit more drama.

Elfen Lied

For Kouta and Yuka, finding the bloody naked young girl on the beach would change their lives forever, for better or for worse. Unable to speak or function as a normal human being, she is named Nyu by the duo, and taken into their home in an effort to save her. Reasons you might like Elfen Lied...

Nocturnalgloria Nocturnalgloria says...

Blood+ and Elfen Lied deal with the definition of what it means to be human and humane. In both cases, a super-evolved species represented by an apparently frail female lead, presents a menace to mankind. Yet humanity is to be blamed for much of the violence that follows. While EL is occasionally borderline ecchi and Blood+ maintains a very serious tone through and through, both series are emotionally-moving exercises that allow emotional bonds to be forged, despite the deeply violent world-scape they present.

RaptorClaw RaptorClaw says...

There's just so much in common with these anime, both in feeling and characters. They both revolve around an alien species that is living amongst humans. These girls are an evolved version of humans but still want to attain normality, which causes a dilemma. Elfen Lied is bloodier and somewhat lighter, while Blood+ focuses more on emotions and character relationships; but if you liked one, you will surely love the other, as they are kindred stories.

MeloColi MeloColi says...

Elfen Lied and Blood+ are both a bit dark and have gore. They also have cool fights, although Blood+ is more focused on fighting while Elfen Lied is focused on guns and gore. They are both very good anime and have a lot of sad moments. If you liked one, then you will like the other. ;)

thedudave thedudave says...

Elfen Lied and Blood+ are both very intriguing Animes with big background storys. In the beginning the viewer gets thrown in a complex story where most is unclear. But with continuous action the background is revealed steadily. And the viewer gets in contact with a very tragic childhood of the leading characters an begins to understand what leads in the presence to such a sorrowful ongoing developement. Also the cruel abuse of several charakters is a great silimarity between these both series.

tasanime tasanime says...

How to put it delicately.... Blood+ and Elfen Lied are not in any way similar in main plot. Granted they're bloody, gory and feat powerful, demon-like creatures but that does not necessarily mean they'll be enjoyed by the same kind of viewer. So why the recommendation? It is this greater sense of inner turmoil both the female leads are going through whilst surrounded by a greater sense of unfortunate destiny or call of duty. The way they must suffer in a world that's not truly theirs, the impact of their existence within this world on their sanity and on others is surely reason enough to identify the two together. The progression of horror lies not in that of their actions but the destructive nature in their heart.

Raziiell Raziiell says...

The biggest thing I look for in an anime is a serious tone and a solid enveloping story (and none of that 'Naruto Effect Kawai stuff'). Elfen Lied drew me into it. The characters were developed in such a way you became attached to them. You understand and sympathize with the characters and the situations presente, despite how insane they may be.

Blood+ is similar in this reguard (although a much longer series). They evoked the same emotions from the viewer. A complex story is presented. Despite it not being hard to understand or overtly complex, it is more hard to absorb than anything.

The closings in both of the series hit me rather hard. They left me with a sense of completion, but yet still things left open ended enough for you, the viewer to draw your own conclusions (and not neccisarily a happy ever after ending). An anime can be ruined completely by an ending that doesn't seem to give the series justice. Where as in Blood+ and Elfen Lied, it ends quite as beautifully as it began.

All in all, if you're looking for a solid, serious, mature, deep story then I believe these 2 series are for you.

wolfangel87 wolfangel87 says...

Blood+ and Elfen Lied have female heroines that take part in a battle not only with the demons around them but also within themselves trying to figure out who they really are.  They are not humans but are trying to take place and live in a humane world in which the lines of what is right and wrong are tested.  Both series deal with a great deal of violence and questions about humanity as a whole and the ideals humans’ represent.  Both deal with hardships of the main characters and tests the powers of each individual.

NoCheerios NoCheerios says...

They are both very explicit, and in both cases, the cause of this ecrude violence is usually female. Not to mention both have detailed emotional plots. So, for most people, if you liked the idea of Blood+, Elfen Lied won't disappoint.

eeklipzz eeklipzz says...

Although Elfen Lied has some corny drawings at times, the story line is GREAT! This is your typical "Girl is experimented on, has invisible arms that go out and hack people in half, then escapes to live a normal life" sort of story. I'd say that if you like the strength of Saya in Blood+, then you'll love the main character in Elfen Lied.

gpardini gpardini says...

tayinoop tayinoop says...

Both story lines include a girl who has forgotten about her past and needs to "wake up" to remember, but it's best for both girls if they don't remember. Both have actoin and lots of gore, both are amazing and have some sad scenes too.

archer1988 archer1988 says...

I fully believe that the two heroin within these animes are just simply trying to find thier way in this world like anyone else, and though Lucy had more of a direct approach to it, Saya was more laid back and more family oriented.  I did enjoy both of these animes to see how the characters also changed throughout the series... Though Elfen Lied could have been longer IMO. But oh well, Still a great series :) Probably will watch it again in a few months when i have time.

sandbecca sandbecca says...

If you like action, drama, romans and to get that little extra, you will love those anime. Both of them are like each other but also entirely different.

Blood + and Elfen Lied have action and friendship. They explain what it is to feel like you are a monster but still showing how even the inhumane things can show passion for things. They both have a great story line. And they both show what it is like to become the person you really are meant to be

Blood+ and Hellsing are both a bloody and violent anime. They both have main characters who are vampire-like beings that are trying to save mankind from being destroyed by creatures they're both a part of, but are different from at the same time. However, though both animes are alike, they present a somewhat different storyline. If you liked Hellsing, it's almost a given that you'll like Blood+.

Malek Malek says...

If you liked Blood, you'd like Hellsing because both anime are about killing vampires, and they also have an equal amount of action in them. As for the plots they are pretty similar to each other however the outcomes are different from each other.

Two unwilling heroines, unaware of the path that fate has chosen for them, will soon be awakening in full to their vampiric destiny. Each is guided by a mysterious and initially silent mentor with a past that is shrouded in darkness, and also by an organization that needs the skills and powers of our main characters in order to prevail.

You will find both of these Anime will feel very dark and atmospheric, and although their weapons of choice may differ, the race is on for both of our heroines to unravel the twisting plots and schemes of the various factions whilst continuing to engage their enemies in bloody battles. The two stories see the action concentrating in countries outside the writers' native Japan, with England and France being a common favorite, and naturally because of the vampiric influences a lot of the action takes place at night or in darkened locations. Our protagonists will find themselves wondering if the organization they have become such a key part of is really the right place for them to be, as they struggle to embrace their new lives and leave their old ordinary, human, lives behind.

tasanime tasanime says...

It's not just vampirism and darkness which makes these two similar - because both explore these themes with quite a different attitude. Blood+ the more emotional & friendship based where the decision to fight is long-thought and mostly unavoidable and unwanted. Hellsing tends to be quite more about erratic behaviours, wanting to fight for blood lust and the thrill of the hunt. So what links the two apart from the main theme? Firstly, acts of violence are strategic, part of the actions of a wider organisation which are there to protect humanity at whatever cost deemed necessary. Secondly, they are creatively animated - fighting sequences obviously well designed and planned by the producers, ultimately a thrill to observe. Finally, neither anime sticks to the usual ‘vampires suck blood then someone becomes a vampire' ideal but instead is about the many kinds of creatures and demons that can emerge from darkness, including man.

mrCoolerer mrCoolerer says...

The obvious shared content (vampires) between these two series is an obvious link, albeit the only one, so if you like vampires, you'd probably like either of these.

Both Ga-Rei and Blood+ feature great swords fighting scenes, great drawing and animation and nice character design and development. Both have a good story that spans across the whole series. This is very important for me, I am bored of amines that do just show a collection of loosely connected fighting scenes and fillers. Also, both series feature attractive female main characters which I do really like in action/adventure animes. Ga-Rei is a bit more scifi and has undead and zombie-like enemies while Blood+ plays in the present time and has vampires and wherewolves.

Truly, these anime share the theme of powerful vampires and amazing sword fights, but that is not all. Aside from focusing a lot on action, the main thing these two have in common is the way they've built their main characters. Both Blood+ and Full Metal Alchemist have nothing to do with each other on the surface. Both Blood+ and FMA are a bit dark, have a little bit of gore, and lots of action and fighting. Only in Blood+ the main person fights with a sword instead of with spells and powers. Also Blood+ is about vampires and FMA isn't, but I think that the feeling you get with both anime is the same. I really recommend them; if you liked one, you'll like the other.

Rizu Rizu says...

Both FullMetal Alchemist and Blood+ delve into the dark points of human (or non-human) nature, and both feature intense battles, mostly of a good versus evil nature. Although, often the character thought of as "bad" or "evil" is later revealed to have more facets to their character than that.

Blood+ initially seems to be a dark and bloody tale, but quickly expands to more than that (relationships, maturation, world-saving, the works), while FMA seems to work in slightly the other direction, though neither sinks into utterly depressing territory-- hope persists in both.

Obiyer Obiyer says...

The same adult themes are there, and the way they try to scientifically address the ideas they are presenting, FMA, alchemy, Blood+, a species resembling vampires, is done in the same spirit. If you enjoyed learning more about Alchemy in FMA you'll also enjoy learning about chiroptera, as it's represented in Blood+. Be forewarned though, if you enjoyed the chibi humor in FMA there is none to be had in Blood+.

They look to be regualar action shows where it is all just fighting and gore. But both have a story line they both lead up to things instead of endless fighting. they both show what it is like to do anything for the person you feel closer to whether it be the two brother or saya and haji.

anonymousone anonymousone says...

Specifically the comparison is between Blood+ and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (as I had never watched the original adaption).

Both series are much more similar than initally thought to have been. The biggest difference between them is that Saya's role in Blood+ is more akin to that of Von Hohenheim's in FMA:B since their the ones who rival/match up the best with the ultimate antagonists of their own respective series.

- Both series make an example to cover subjects such as atonement and human experimentation.

- Both series have great character development as well as some passive antagonists.

- Both of them have powerful organizations conspiring against the world and a resistance groups to face them. (Cinq Fleches vs Red Shield / Homunculus vs Roy Mustang and his allies)

The other differences are is that Blood+ is heaver on the romance and that FMA:B has an overall more lighter atmosphere.

If you like either one of them then the other should suit you just as well seeing as how both complement each other very well when it comes to the similarities.

Both shows are of similar length with a detailed storyline with character development as well as action scenes. Therefore both animes are (until now) my favourite ones.

Both are stories of a long journey searching either for Diva or for the Philosopher's Stone.

They both include topics as friendship/family, war (which methods ethical or non-ethical methods are used to win) and overall the question whether to be or not to be human.

Vampire Knight

Vampire Knight

Cross Academy is a school with a difference: in a unique and experimental setup designed by the headmaster, it has a Day Class consisting of ordinary humans and a Night Class filled with vampires. Yuki Cross and her friend Zero Kiryu are school prefects whose job it is to make sure the secret of the Night Class is always safe; they patrol the school grounds at night and supervise the switchover of classes at dawn and dusk to prevent any 'accidents' from happening. While Zero is suspicious of vampires and hates the idea of sharing the same space as them, Yuki admires the Night Class for their beauty and sophistication; she is especially intrigued by their charming leader, Kaname, because he once saved her life. However, as Yuki quickly learns, not all vampires are amiable like the Night Class, and as terrible events unfold, Yuki must ask herself whether in a world where vampires are the hunters and humans are the prey, peaceful coexistence can really be achieved.

Featuring female leads caught between the vampire and human worlds, both stories play out passionate dramas that rely on the question of what it means to be human and what it means to be a monster.

Galadriel Galadriel says...

i really cannot find an anime that is more closer to Vampire Knight than Blood+. Both feature female leads which are traped between the human world and the vampire world, both shows are dramas and are based on a romance story and both of them are action packed shows. If you liked one be sure to do not miss the other one as well.

wolfangel87 wolfangel87 says...

Strong vampiric-like female leads are seen in both Blood + and Vampire Knight capturing the drama in one single moment.  The fighting scenes are similar and there are also strong features coming through in both series that make the background strikingly beautiful.

PurpleCatAngel PurpleCatAngel says...

Just like Blood+, Vampire Knight is about a girl with lost memories and she is surrounded by vampires while trying to regain those memories.

Whateves242 Whateves242 says...

Both characters have lost their memories, while having a vampire love interest from their pasts. They are also not aware at first, that they are not human.

OkamiHime95 OkamiHime95 says...

Both anime have female MC's that have lost their memories, and eventually get drawn into the world of vampires.

Blood+ is darker than Bleach, but they are both about fighting and have awesome sword fights. Blood+ is about vampires and has a little bit of gore, but it still has a lot in common with Bleach. You'll get the same feeling from both anime.

soccerdory soccerdory says...

I enjoyed both Animes immensely. Both center around a main character who has amazing powers, and have to use them to help save their loved ones. They both also wield a sword. If you loved one, you will reallllly love the other.

Rizu Rizu says...

While Bleach is a far longer series, sporting a more light and episodic feel, both it and Blood+ feature an abnormally strong protagonist battling against evil creatures that desire to rule/destroy the world. Along the way they confront the typical issues of right vs. wrong and the areas in between, and the troubles of maintaining relationships when faced with the challenges of saving the world.

That said, Blood+ is a good deal darker and deeper than Bleach (the latter tending to have more humorous/light scenes, and quite a lot more filler), and the strongest connection between them is intense, action-filled sword-fighting, wielded to battle grotesque looking monsters in an attempt to save the world.

jurexplay jurexplay says...

Hmm, I think the most similiar thing in these anime is using swords as a main weapon. In both of them the mission of main characters is to kill Hollows/Monsters(Ch..something). Also the level of drama is comperable in both series although Bleach has occasional and quite good comedic reliefs while Blood+ is kept in dark and gloomy atmosphere form the beggining up to the end. I think that both anime are worth a watch for action oriented anime fans.

Howlingwar Howlingwar says...

The sword is used in both animes. Although Blood+ is a tad more violent the art in it is quite stunning(note: not in some) In both animes it tell of what it would be like if this fantasy were to be true.

Tokko

Tokko

Ranmaru is a young cop with a dark past. As one of the few survivors of a mindless slaughter in his apartment block, he joins a special unit called TOKKI to avenge his parents. In his first case, the already ghastly murder scene turns to one of terror, as the inhuman killers start to massacre the police. After being saved at the last minute by a secret unit named TOKKO who wield swords instead of guns, Ranmaru's mind is filled with questions and he is determined to find out the answers, no matter what it takes. What are these monsters, and why did they recognize him?

Both Blood+ and Tokko feature main characters that are taken away from their normal lives and plunged into violent combat. Although with heavy gore and lengthy fights, the series actually focus on their feelings as they come to accept their gifts and the responsibility of power.

Day22 Day22 says...

Both these anime's have their fair share of violence. They both have supernatural aspects to their plots. The character's are pretty similar and the plots are fairly close

shikamaru181 shikamaru181 says...

Both of these series focus on their main character's being forced into a world they don't want to be in and how their emotions and they themselves change as they begin to accept their destiny and new power. They both also involve demons, or demon like beings and their very gory deaths.

wolfangel87 wolfangel87 says...

Blood+ and Tokko have main characters that are thrust out of their daily lives into a whole new type of world.  Both have to live up to their own potential and change their own perspective of how to overcome the challenges that face them and the enemies they encounter.

Both Blood+ and Tsukihime are about vampires, are calm, have romance, and stress family over action. There're even similar plot twists in them.

Blood-sucking, special ways of killing, and a main character with missing memories. Blood+ and Lunar Legend both share these aspects. The mood of Blood+ is a bit lighter, however and LLT is much shorter but overall, they're very compareable. If you like one, you should like the other.

wolfangel87 wolfangel87 says...

The aspect that I found most striking between Lunar Legend Tsukihime and Blood + was the fact that both of the main characters lost parts of their memories.  The journey in each series of how they are able to overcome these difficulties and strive for what they are looking for is heartfelt for each character.
