Bounty Hunters/Mercenaries with shiny weapons, an episodic approach, lots of characterisation, and a gritty tone: if you liked that kind of stuff in Black Lagoon, then check out Bebop. However, while Black Lagoon is dirty-gritty, Cowboy Bebop is more sophisticated-gritty.

azanimefan azanimefan says...

Black Lagoon and Cowboy Bebop are both "adult" action anime, with a face paced and heavily stylized presentation.  Both are a great deal of fun, and high quality watches

gretzky99 gretzky99 says...

The main concepts of these two are quite similar: they feature bounty hunters and their adventures in an episodic manner. We also get to know the pasts of the characters during these adventures.

Rfsancho Rfsancho says...

Black Lagoon and Cowbow Bebop definitely have a similar feel to them. Former is a pretty dark and serious mercenary show focusing mostly on the jobs and life of a mercenary, while the latter has a happy feel to it with lots of jokes and comical situations. Both shows have a great cast of characters, all of whom have a background of their own actually talked about in the story.

While black lagoon is far more upbeat and Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ is much darker, the two series have a lot of common.  The both feature similar action sequences, but maybe more importantly is they both feature great character interaction.

TheBlueKing44 TheBlueKing44 says...

Gunplay, assassins, and a lot of action. Both are a lot of fun to watch but lagoon is the better overall. Both will help your gunplay fix tho

Like Black Lagoon, Jormungand is also an action-heavy show which features gun-toting ladies who would rather shoot their targets than ask any questions. Jormungand has a more serious tone but if you liked Black Lagoon you'll enjoy Jormungand too.

If you liked this, you'd like this! Both feature similar takes on the dark underworld of crime with mercs and arms dealers. With similar interactions between the team to contstant high paced action you wont be disappointed.

Violence and action are the main things that connect Black Cat and Black Lagoon. But the thing that is most valuable in many similar genre titles, including this one, is the mental state of a human under such circumstances.

Althoug BL:TSB isn't about vampires, it sure has extremely high level of violance which resambles it to Hellsing OVA. Both series are full of action and badass scenes that you won't find easy to forget. It's a good watch both for action freaks, and vampire fans.

Gunslinger Girl and the second season of Black LAgoon are both shows that are more than a little dark and involve some of the most despicable parts of humanity. While Gunslinger Girl is more subtle about it's darkness, both shows will draw in people who enjoy looking seriously at the worst kind of people and situations. What seperates these shows from others of their kind is that they don't try to impose and kind of morals on the viewer nor attempt to make them feal sorry for the characters.

Black Lagoon 2 and Darker Than Black both share their cast of awesome characters, grim storyline and badass action. The only real difference between the two, is that while Black Lagoon plays in a somewhat realistic setting, Darker Than Black is largely a supernatural action show with superpowers aplenty. Nevertheless, both of these shows will satisfy your hunger for badass action and dark plot. If you liked Black Lagoon 2 for that, give Darker Than Black a try.

Black Lagoon 2 and Canaan are both girls-with-guns action flicks with a dark story. If you liked the gunslinging and dark, often cruel story, both shows will suit your taste. Canaan is like a more plotdriven, mystery version of Black Lagoon. If you liked what you saw here and are looking for a more plot-heavy, less action-dense and slightly more rediculous variant, give Canaan a shot.

Not only are both continuations of the original series, but they also have very similar chatacteristics. They feature a rather 'linear' plot that is episodic, and involves even more characters than the first. Both probe the depths of the characters mindsets and why they fight, as well.

If you've seen one, then the other is right for you!
