Kashiwagi is a stunningly beautiful, self-described NEET part-time teacher who went to a music college in Tokyo. Her old middle-school classmate Matsuyama is now the advisor for a middle school chorus club on Nagasaki Prefecture's Gotō Islands, but she has to go on maternity leave. Matsuyama asks Kashiwagi to take over the club for one year. The chorus club had only female members before, but the arrival of Kashiwagi suddenly attracts lots of boys, resulting in conflict among its ranks. Despite this, the club prepares for NCon, NHK's real-life nationwide school music competition, with its newly diverse roster.

When Kamiyama Keito saw Oomiya Honden High School's (a.k.a. "Denkou") Rock Band "Kei-On" club, he was immediately struck by a sense of awe and admiration. Once he was admitted into the school, he immediately joined the club. To the despair of Keito, the club was run by two degenerate senior students who forbid any real practices. Once spring break turns around, Keito finds out that the two seniors were arrested for possession of marijuana, in turn pushing the club into the brink of termination. With the help of the only other member of the club, Tsukumo Shintaro, will Keito be able to prevent the termination of his club?

As they fight over who plays solos, some students give priority to studying and quit club activities. Finally, the long wished-for day of the contest arrives.
