Storyline is okay, just wasn't really built upon that much. Most characters aside from the main character did not have a lot of character growth and as one reviewer put it, a lot of the male characters are rather effeminate-looking. I'm not particularly sure if they were doing this to bait a certain type of audience, but if they were intending to do that, I don't think it's good representation. They had okay characterization, but every time I see their fighting scenes, I couldn't help but laugh because their faces were distracting to me and I'm not saying that in a rude way, but because it's just seemingly there without a good justification for the way they are designed. I wouldn't mind if the makeup was less intensive. They could rock with some sharp eyeliner or something, but I think it's a bit too much here. All I could think of was "YES, SLAY GIRLBOSS! YOU GOT IT GIRL! 💅" when they were trying to portray it as this very serious one-on-one battle, and that's probably not a good, intended effect the creators were hoping to get from someone like me, SOBS. Moreover, knowing the cutscenes that shows their past and what they used to look like during that time just made me ponder about it even more. Overall, I couldn't take it seriously sometimes, but that's because I don't take myself seriously in the first place. Its story sypnosis only briefly appears here and there. I would imagine if this gets a second season, then we would get to see a lot more action. Would've liked them to spend more time on taking the time to flesh out the characters a bit more better, because a lot of them felt like spectators and you don't really get to see enough to be invested in them aside from their initial appearances.
