Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

The foundation of alchemy is based on the law of equivalent exchange; you cannot produce something from nothing. As such, alchemy is bound by one taboo - human transmutation. Four years ago two young brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, broke this taboo when they tried to resurrect their dead mother. During the process Al's body disintegrated and Ed lost his leg. In a desperate attempt to prevent his brother from disappearing completely, Ed sacrificed one of his arms so he could affix Al's soul to a suit of armor. When his missing limbs are replaced by auto mail parts, Ed bears the name of the Fullmetal Alchemist - the youngest ever State Alchemist and dog of the military. Now, alongside his brother, Ed uses his status within the military to attempt to find any way that he can return their bodies back to their original state.

An anime that makes you think with interesting action and an amazing plot. If you want an anime that'll have you constantly thinking and on the edge of your seat this is for you. You'll sometimes wonder who the author will kill next, hardly predictable. Always plot twists on what you thought would happen. Whos the tratior and whats up with the crazy main character(s)? Including a war, where its not clear who's right and who's wrong. Very well put together story, you'll want to keep watching with every episode.

Staple animes that become better as they progress. They both start with a simple and compelling premise, but grow far beyond the original scope in ways that are logical and believable.

Both the final arcs in SnK and FMAB consist of the main characters carrying out a coup detat. It's heavily military based and all about that right for freedom. Would DEFINITELY reccomned. The characters are just as well written as the SnK ones.

This is a short spin-off series of Attack on Titan. It revolves around the main cast of Attack on Titan as they overcome many shenanigans. This spin-off is very light-hearted. I personally use this show as a coping mechanism after the heavy themes of the original series.

It's fun to watch all your favourite characters (who are actually alive) to mess around and not be fighting for their lives every 2 seconds.

It helps with the darkness of AOT and it shows all your favorite characters without you having to worry abouut seeing them dead in the next scene and its more lighthearted and funny.

Fafner Exodus

Fafner Exodus

2150 AD. The battle against the silicon-based Festums from outer space reaches a new phase. Fragments of the North Pole Mir were scattered throughout the world. Eventually, they began to act on their own as independent Mirs. Most hated humanity and attacked them, but some chose to coexist with mankind. Some with the same way of thinking existed within the human race, as well: those who were both human and Festum. They added to the chaos of the battle and brought about even more hatred.

Despite very different on the surface Fafner and the AoT are surprisingly similar. Not only in terms of the premise, teenagers pited against giant creatures in order to portect what they think is the whole of humanity; as in the way the series progress.

In Exodus and AoT The Final Season we rejoin characters that we have known since they were teens, now as young men and women. They are all battle weary, beyond their years, faced with a world that is much wider and more complex than they could ever thought possible. All have lost much.

These seasons are heavy on blurring the lines between enemy/ally, between human/non-human, between loyalty to country/loyalty to the world; they have an interesting mixture of old characters and new ones and even touch upon family in ways that are surprisingly alike.

At the heart of these two anime is sacrifice, it was so from the very first episode and as they become closer to their respective finales, Fafner and AoT it only becomes more central.

youkais youkais says...

Not close at the beggining of both series, when you find teenagers first encounters with giants enemies who attempts to finish the peaceful lifes they are having; but yes in this stage "The final season" of AoT and "Exodus" of Fafner, when they are now a bit more adult and they found those enemies aren't exactly what they thought and that the world and humanity are also at odds with them.

If you enjoy development of situations, characters and evolving worlds views, you will enjoy both franchises.

Both Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan have amazing animation, interesting fights and unique horror, though AoT would be less "typical" anime than JJK, which has more intense and anime-like fights.

Right now at this point of the anime, now its turned into Code Geass. Both animes have complex stories and are very interesting. Eren is also turning into a Lelouch an anti-hero, people might think Eren might become an antagonist but no you guys are wrong, he's still a protagonist but is not a typical hero protagonist like Naruto, Deku, Tanjiro and so on but more like the most memorable ones such as Lelouch, Light, Guts and many more.
