Meanwhile, in a village, the young Raki has been banished; his only crime was losing his family to the yoma. Raki is drawn to a Claymore named Clare, and together their journey begins. Transformations, violence, humanity on the brink of extinction (or is it?). AoT and Claymore share plenty of similarities and you'll notice them too if you check the other out. Now this third season of AoT doesnt deal too much in the fight against titans and you'll notice that in the first few episodes of Claymore, Clare and friends quickly realize that the Yoma aren't the only threat in their setting. The mysteries are great and the resolutions are even better. If you enjoy one you'll enjoy the other.
They follow the same story of people living in fear of the monsters that rule the land. With there being some force that is made to rise up and take care and destroy the monsters.
During the industrial revolution, mankind is threatened by the sudden emergence of undead monsters who can only be killed by piercing their heart through an iron plate. Those bitten become one of them. Called the “Kabane,” these monsters exploded in number. The Hinomoto people built fortress stations and barricaded themselves inside. Only steam locomotives, the Hayajiros, can travel between them.

It's very similar to Attack on Titan, except instead of giants it's zombies with extra tough skin (and the usual idea that they can turn others). There's also a strong emphasis on trains and "getting away from the Kabane). They still "fight them" but there's less of a sense of "nowhere left to run."
Both definately have a sort of apocalyptic vibe to them in a way, but they are still very different.
