Lotte no Omocha AKA Astarotte's Toy is an ecchi fantasy anime about a 10YO tsundere succubus that hates men. Instant fail. But wait there's decent backstory to explain it. Seinen? Nope, aimed at adolescent boys and has no complexity to the story. Romantic comedy? Nope. Father doesn't love the mother of his daughter and I didn't laugh once. This anime is absolutely shocking, in a bad way and takes nothing seriously. Who is it aimed at? I said adolescent boys a second ago, but they'd find porn much more interesting than this. I had to drink for this one, especially as ecchi is my most hated genre along with harem. Long story short, 10YO Tsundere succubus must commit fellatio and drink man-juice to live, once she becomes of age. Absurd? Absolutely.

Animation

Once you get past 2010, animation quality must be perfect as standard. And it is, so it doesn't stand out. But what about the style?  With all the colours and the big kid-friendly style along with silly facial expressions (+1 for a good use of those), you'd think this was aimed at kids? Wrong. Don't let your kids watch this. It's not that unique a style, seeming very similar to Baka and Test, which is the only ecchi anime that has made me laugh. Of course, being ecchi and all, there are many panty shots and perverted things. Especially references. To fellatio and sex. I'd forgive the fan-service if any of it actually occurred, which it kinda does, but not really. It's not as bad as other ecchi since there's no nudity.

Sound

Don't watch the anime, but do get the soundtrack. The music in this is actually pretty damn good. Such a shame that it came on a terrible anime. Of course I got the soundtrack immediately. The intro and outro sequence animations arent' that bad, especially the outro, but the music is great. The rest of the sound is debatable, there is a lot of comedic music as they try to make the viewer laugh. The sound design in the anime itself isn't too amazing, hence it won't get a perfect sound score. The anime is only in Japanese, no sane English VAs would do any voices for this. If the voice actor for the main character Lotte sounds familiar, its because its Rie Kugimiya who's major in the Japanese voice acting industry. She's done major voices like Al from FMA, Shana from Shakugan no Shana and a lot of tsundere characters like Louise from Zero no Tsukaima. I'll behonest, I recoil at merely hearing this voice, ZnT left a very sour taste in my mouth and I hated Louise. As such, I have developed an unreasonable hate for Rie's voice.

Characters

Lotte (Astarotte) is an elementary school, flat-chested, ten year old, tsundere, succubus princess, who hates men. The explanation is that she walked in on her mother committing fellatio. Which by the way, she is required to do herself when she becomes of age just to live. She doesn't want to do such a thing, which makes sense. She's a bit introverted and doesn't easily make friends. Just a kid really, though she isn't that bad for a tsundere character since she isn't hot-headed, thus she doesn't beat up her supposed-to-be first man, Naoya. Nothing to great or interesting really.

Naoya Touhara is a 23 year old man slave of Lotte, who looks like a girly teenager and is also a father. Legitimately. At first I thought he was a big brother, but it turns out he is a legit father to a 10 year old daughter. At the age of 13 he was seduced by a certain succubus and his kid was dropped off with him when he was 16. HOW FUCKING MESSED UP?!?! For some reason he seems to be okay with it and when he confronts the mother of his child, he actually thanks her for giving him his daughter and doesn't give a fuck about her. You'd think he'd be in love with the mother of his child or hate her for seducing him and ruining his life? WHAT THE FUCK?!?! And he's supposed to be the source of man milk for Lotte, who is SPOILER< his step-daughter technically speaking >SPOILER. WHAT A LOAD OF BOLLOCKS!

Asuha (Asuhariet) Touhara is Naoya's daughter and is a ten year old elementary school student who is Lotte's best friend. Of course, neither of them know SPOILER< that they are half-sisters and therefore there is a plothole, since she is supposed to inherit succubus genes from her mother >SPOILER. She is an extrovert, unlike her sister and is very adventurous in the wrong kind of way, as she lacks modesty and decency. How? She doesn't like to wear panties. Shit parenting IMO, so it's Naoya's fault. She makes friends quickly and likes to doodle in her diary.

The big bitch herself, the succubus queen Mercelida Ygvar and the mother to Lotte and SPOILER< Asuha >SPOILER. The thing about succubi in this anime, is that their offspring are always succubi, no matter what creature they mate with. This makes for a plothole. Of course, SPOILER< she seduced and fucked Naoya when he was just 13, had his kid and dropped her off with him when he was just 16 >SPOILER. She rarely appears and doesn't appear to give much care to her kids or her 'lover'. She also has a harem of over 1000 guys, apparently had massive tits when she was 10 and was also giving BJs at that age too.

Other characters are equally messed up. There is a cow-girl, complete with horns, cow ears, a tail and big breasts. And if you're thinkning certain things because your mind is in the gutter, you're right. Cow-girl is actually the dairy in this anime and she makes milk for the other characters, especially Lotte, to drink.

Story

There is no story here. All that you need to know is that Lotta hates men cos she walked in on her mother giving a guy a BJ. And that succubi need to suck d*** and drink c** to survive. And that Mercelida is the mother of both Lotte and Asuha. Er... it think that's all that really happens. No need to watch the anime now. It doesn't take anything seriously, heck a friggin 23 year old is the father of a ten year old kid. It's just predictable and terrible. It's obvious from the start that Mercelida is Asuha's mother and it's obvious that there would be no dodgyness in this anime. But the shit implied... come on. The romance is bullshit too, how the fuck can a 23YO man love a 10 year old child? This anime is pretty much about pedophilia.

Conclusion

This isn't the worst anime I've seen, honestly the fan service isn't as bad as other anime. This is just a pedophiles dream, featuring panty shots of mere children. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone, unless you do what I did and drunk marathon through this one.

Family-friendliness Rating: 5/5 This would be a 3, but there is a lot of reference to fucked up shit, like children giving BJs (lower is better)

Overall Rating: 2.5/10 (higher is better)

Despite the obvious flaws of this series, it's genuinely one of my favorites. Most people are immediately turned off once they read the words "ten year old succubus must drink semen to live." Which they should be. But if you actually give it a chance - which it seems most people don't, judging by other reviews I've read - it has a far more cohesive story than most ecchi. I actually forgot this was an ecchi, as there was barely any nudity.

The story is clearly something out of a hentai manga but that the powers that be decided could be given more depth and less sexuality. Astarotte is a ten year old succubus, and as she is nearing puberty, she must prepare to start engaging in sex acts in order to keep herself alive. However, she is afraid of men, as she witnessed her mother having relations with one of the men in her royal harem as a child, thus ruining her previously happy and loving relationship with her mother. One day, she decides she wants a human for her harem, as humans are something of a myth in her world. In comes Naoya and Asuha Touhara, a 23 year old father and his 10 year old daughter. As you can probably tell, whoever came up with this premise probably either didn't bother to do the math or just didn't care. Naoya fathered Asuha at age 13. It's completely uncomfortable and improbable, but nobody else seems to take notice. Beyond this, it's essenitally a fantasy/slice of life. Astarotte has a crush on Naoya, which causes her fear of men to dissipate almost immediately. Another thing that tends to bother people is that Naoya is billed as Astarotte's love interest, but if you actually keep an open mind you can clearly see that Naoya has no romantic feelings for Astarotte. He wants to help her have a happy childhood despite the traumas she faces in relation to her mother. I see Naoya as more of an adoptive father for Astarotte. It bothers me that the series often tries to sell them as a couple, but it's easy to see past if taken with a grain of salt.

I really enjoyed the animation in this series, especially the way the eyes were drawn and the way Astarotte's hair was drawn with individual loose hairs. It wasn't revolutionary or anything, but I've always liked the way it looks.

Most characters in this series were fairly flat. Astarotte really resonated with me as a character, but that may be because I too have a strained relationship with my mother and face frequent turmoil over the clash between my dislike of sex and my physical needs. To people who can't relate to Astarotte, she probably just seems like your standard tsundere. I also happen to have a soft spot for Sigurd. From what I've seen, most people just think Sigurd is a weird pedophile stalker, but there are scenes that show that Sigurd genuinely cares for Astarotte and doesn't just want to get in her teddy bear boy briefs. Plus it's a little less creepy of a relationship than if Astarotte were to date Naoya because Sigurd is a teenager instead of a grown man with a ten year old daughter of his own.

Honestly, I think this anime would have been a lot more popular if somebody had done the math on how old the characters would have to be for it not to be extremely uncomfortable. I wouldn't even mind if the age gap between Astarotte and Naoya had been the same size, had Astarotte been 18 and Naoya been 31. It would also help if Asuha were younger than Asarotte, considering the two of them are both ten and have the same mother, meaning they would have to be twins despite having two different fathers. I really wish this series were more popular, so that I could do a parody where the characters go on Maury. But it's not, so I'll just go try to make fun of something else I love.

A pedophilic show, dressing as a romantic comedy. The reason is clear if you see Rie Kugimiya in the voice acting cast; she is voicing nothing else but loli tsunderes in romcoms. And it’s not like the similarities end just with her name; the entire show is basically a rehash of the anime she gained her fame in the past. “Meek boy summoned to a magic world to serve as butler a rich spoiled loli tsundere” is basically a fusion of Familiar of Zero with Hayate no Gotoku. And just like those aforementioned anime, Astarotte no Omocha has very little plot and lots n’ lots of jail-bait. To be completely honest, this anime is far better than the other two, no matter if you hate or like such shows. If you hate them, it lasts only 12 episodes thus your suffering ends much faster. If you love them, it is far more perverse and bold thus you are going to have much harder boners out of it.

Allow me to describe the story to you. Please be warned that I am not joking; this REALLY is the story. The setting is a magic land based on the Nordic mythology. It doesn’t look like a place full of brute Vikings and scary frost giants; it just borrows the names and basic functions of the Yggdrasil, the world tree which connects all different realms. In fact, it looks more like a fairy tale with four leaf flowers endlessly falling from the sky on a land filled with furry cosplayers. Meaning, it looks like a virtual brothel for otakus. In this land, the princess of the land is Astarotte, a 10 year old rich spoiled tsundere loli succubus. Since she is a succubus, she reaches an age where she needs male life seed to survive. And by life seed, I mean semen… Seriously; I am not making this up; the loli princess needs to suck semen in order to survive from the age of 10. For this reason her assistant brings a young boy from our world to be her butler. Meaning, her sex toy and regular semen provider. Said boy is 23 years old and already is the father of a 10 year old girl who loves to run around without pantsu. The mother of the girl is the same one as the succubus’, meaning the boy impregnated her mother when he was 12 and now came to “do” her too.

And if you expect some really sick incestuous lolicon hentai from all this I’m afraid you will be disappointed; the plot “sucks” harder than the semen-craving loli. Everything that follows is just plain old random gag and slapstick romcom, usually centering on the words “milk” and “suck”. Well, you can imagine what type of jokes they are… The last two episodes attempt to provide a sort of crisis and resolution with the worlds being in peril because of the sudden interaction of the realms; a thing which I feel was ripped off from Ah! My Goddess. Yet the resolution is the usual open ended finale where nothing much has changed. In fact, nothing did since episode 1.

So there you have it, an incestuous lolicon hentai premise that heads nowhere, with its cast being caricatures defined by their erotic fetishes. If you are willing to be content with that instead of reading some ACTUAL lolicon manga, then be my guest and fire away (your life seed). As I said it is far bolder than the other two anime and has Rie Kugimiya voicing a tsundere loli; what else is there to expect? Yeah, the score is low and that will make you think it’s bad, but it’s also so bad it is good (if you are a lolicon). I guess the rehash of such stories got boring and Kugimiya-based anime are now pitted against Toradora, the best romcom she has been in so far (she voices Taiga there).

The production values are not good in overall since the animation is jerky and heavy on SD characters and simplistic backgrounds. Heck, even the world tree looks like a crude 3D cone with a dry scalp that flakes all the time. And the characters are all drawn simplistically moe and sexy with outfits from some nekomimi maid café. But who cares if the fan service is good; right? There are lots of nude scenes, as well as pantsu and nopan ones, most cleverly censored with passing by items. That is almost a talent! As for the soundtrack it is full of silly songs I have already forgotten, and voice acting with expectably high pitched voices, since Japanese people believe squeaking squirrels are sexy. Heck, even the main male is voiced by a girl.

In all, I liked the bold humor and disliked the absence of EVERYTHING ELSE. There is of course no value in this anime, the characters are just ephemeral fapping material, the story goes nowhere and the production values are cheap. But hell, chances are you only care about the first thing I said; so be my guest and allow yourselves to be entertained by a 10 year old “suck”ubus. You can also allow the anime industry to “milk” your wallet or just look for a torrent with lots of “seeders”.

So starting into this anime you get the sense of oh here we go a love story of an adult and child pedo alert. But its not  that, you see the story of 10 yr old Succubus princess Astarotte (Lotte) and her first attempt at letting a guy really into her life after the "trauma" of seeing her mother the Succubus queen and a man "doing it" at a very young age. But she needs to form a harem of men so she can suck out their "life seed" to maintain her beatuy for when she takes over as queen later in life. She decides it best to leave the main castle and live in an estate on the edge of the kingdom untill she must take over the kingdoms ruler. Naoya must be her stepping stone to adulthood and the start of her non distrust of men. While ill be the first to admit it is on the pedo side but its japan they do many things american would see as inapporpriat.

Enter Naoya a 23 yr old from the realm of man and his 10 yr old daughter Asuha. Thats right people he a had a kid at age 13. He is contacted in the realm of man by Judit the princess' i want to say chief advisor and he's is offered a job with great pay but no real job description, untill he travels through the life tree to the magical land. He is to be the first man in the harem of the succubus princess who refuses to start a harem unless she has a human male for it. Thinking this was an impossible task to complete from her servants so she wouldnt have to start a harem.

Obviously she doesn't really trust or accept Naoya at first due to the mental scaring from her earlier childhood. Little by little though she begins to accept and even fall for Naoya through small actions he does for her because he notices how lonely and sad she is from not being able to see her mother from all her duties as queen and them being more estranged after seing her mother in bed with a man. Eventually Naoya starts to fall for the princess as well. NO MORE SPOLIERS!

This Anime was actually kinda sweet at times and you feel like Naoya is more of a father figure to Lotte as she is growing up, more mentally than physically. Asuha joins Lotte in school and helps her make friends furthering her development etc. Though the story leaves much to be desired as there isnt a whole lot of one. The premis of the anime is very adult oriented with the goal of Naoya coming to the kingdom is so Lotte can and i am quoting this "suck him off"...sigh. Though to all the perverts out there this doesn't happen and small amounts of magic can be taken from men in the form of kissing and it doesn't have to be on the lips either. Charactars arn't very memorable and dont really have any depth wih the exception of Naoya and Lotte getting some back story on them in the anime.

Don't dismiss this as some perverted loli anime with the only goal being child porn, it isn't. Most of the bad reviews are either Feminazis or people who didnt watch it all the way through. The comdey is there but alot of slap stick stuff. I wont say this is a great anime by any means but its a decent one time watch through there is certainly much worse things to watch out there.

it's like Lolita minus the controversial parts, unless you count the implied stuff. This anime is overall nothing special but the voice acting is reasonably decent. On the plus side there's lots of fanservice that inevitably boosted the score on my part otherwise. This is one of the few times where I will give it an anime a higher score for fanservice.
