Sunrise pretty much took the cult VOTOMS series, butchered it, and then repackaged the raw material into a millenial Gundam clone. Presumably to see if Votoms has any current generation appeal; if this is their best attempt to get youngsters into Votoms, they won't be cashing in anytime soon!

They somehow made Votoms as banal and teen oriented as the flashy eye candy 2000s Gundams. This trash is not worth the watch for this feat alone; even diehard Votoms fans shouldn't watch this.
