It's based around a male protagonist, then there's a girl who he befriends, whom is also a tsundere, it's also based around a school.

daysie1234 daysie1234 says...

Same voice actor for main female and male character, same tsundere genre, strong female lead, love triangles. Toradora has more of a school setting, but the main characters living together/next door is present.

PlushiexLover PlushiexLover says...

Toradora would probably be a likable anime for thoes of you who like Hidan no Aria because the seiyu of Aria and Keiichi are the same voice actresses of Taiga and Ryuuji from Toradora! Both feature a Tsundere main character followed by a Male that often gets beaten by their "Master."

TotalCode TotalCode says...

wonderful tsundere romances with kick-ass heroines. Also a plus for seiyuu followers, both share the same male and female lead actors

Doomoo Doomoo says...

Both anime are very similar in so many ways. While one focuses on normal highschool teens (relatively) the Hidan No Aria is more extreme with actions and explosions and shit. However though it does have action it does not have the same level of story depth, character development or complex realistic interpersonal relationships that Toradora has. Basically Toradora focused on what I mentioned above intensely while Hidan no Aria focused a bit on that, a bit on harem and a bit on action. If they dont' sound similar don't worry, just watch them and you'll see. Oh and also the Aria is a Tsundere voiced by the same VA as Taiga.

Gougou354 Gougou354 says...

It's the same main actor than Toradora. Ryuji and taiga from toradora :) Actually i didn't finished the anime but Hidan No Aria looks a lot like Toradora, which is my fav anime in romance category.

sothis sothis says...

A bitchy, abrasive tsundere main character who bosses around a boy, with comedy and school life as a backdrop? If you liked one, you'd like the other.

TheDarkOnyx TheDarkOnyx says...

On Hidan no Aria, it's Toradora redone with guns.

On Toradora, it's similar because in both, the female (main) protagonist secretly starts to like the male protagonist, and with comedy along the way as well.

AnimeSpaceBR AnimeSpaceBR says...

  • There is no way I can not recommend Toradora!, because besides being two animes very similar thematically, they are still two animes that I loved and surely recommend to all the fans of romantic comedy 🌸😉💞😍 !!

Shakugan no Shana

Shakugan no Shana

Sakai Yuuji thought he was a normal high school student, until one fateful day when time stopped. Watching in horror, he witnesses a monster devouring the "frozen" people around him; but luckily for Yuuji, he is saved by a sword-wielding red-headed girl that calls herself a "Flame Haze". The girl informs him that he has been dead for some time now and that his current self is merely a replacement for the human that he used be while alive. He is, she says, merely a torch whose life will come to an end when the blue flame in his chest ceases to burn. After this rude awakening, Yuuji realizes that he is able to see the flames of life in other "torches"; and after discovering that a friend of his is also a torch -- and her life is burning out faster than his – he gains the courage to live out the rest of his life with meaning. Will Yuuji be able to find his place in the world before he ceases to exist?

Both of these contain a tsundere character which fight togather with the main charcter. The main female chracters in both are voiced by the same person

daysie1234 daysie1234 says...

Same studio did the animation, same voice actor for the main character, same tsundere type of girl that is strong, but ultimately in need of assistance from the leading male. Same concept of fighting, except Hidan no Aria has guns + katanas, and SnS is mainly sword/magic based. Romance love triangles, and action! :)

Justaway Justaway says...

Both have a female tsundere lead and a male lead that ends up helping them.

Both have fantasy elements, action and romance.

Kisaragi Kisaragi says...

Both series share  a similar "boy meets girl" plot. The lead female characters, Shana and Aria, are your typical violent tsundere, with painfully similar personalities, and even the same seiyuu. Both series have a similar feel and are action oriented. Both are done by J.C. Staff.

Very similar, so definitely check out one if you like the other.

Icemer Icemer says...

"Hidan no Aria" and "Shakugan no Shana" are about a guy who wanted to live a normal live, but one day they get into trouble and saved by tsundere girls. After which they becoming partners.

Cululush Cululush says...

These two animes share several similar themes - A Tsundere main love interest, semi-fantasy, action, and a main prontagonist with a "special power". The main differences being that Hidan no Aria is much more humoristic and generous on the fan-service, and Shakugan no Shana has a deeper storyline with more focus on drama and character progression.

Darkjolly Darkjolly says...

Both female leaders are voiced by the same person and both share the same head strong, violent nature that as the series progress, softens.

While Shakugan is longer and darker somehwhat, Aria still offers a lot of fast paced action but with guns and bombs instead of swords and magic.

If you like Shana or Aria then I recommend you watch the other since they both are good, cute animes.

Jumaka Jumaka says...

I found Shakugan no Shana and Hidan no Aria very similar, because both had (in my point of wiew) very powerful and a little mysterious tsundere heroines. Both have some action going on throughout the story. Shana and Aria are both small for their age, but extremely skilled. Yuuji and Kinji seem to be normal, but as the story goes on it's clear that they aren't. Also similar in these anime are the main characters "love life", there's the tsundere girl who's a little bit shy and the boy who gets attention from one or more other girls.

For me both of them had a very similar feel.

The Familiar of Zero

The Familiar of Zero

In a world where magic is a reality, the young Louise is at the bottom of her class. Dubbed "Zero" by her classmates at Tristein Academy (due to her zero success rate for magic), Louise (along with all first year students) was charged with summoning a familiar; and instead of a cute magical creature, the familiar arrived in the form of... Saito Hiraga, a normal Japanese boy who was abruptly teleported from his own world?! Can both Louise and Saito come to terms with their new and complicated "relationship" and (more importantly) help Saito find a way home?

Same leading female voice actor. Same tsundere main character, and same studio doing the animation. Romance, love triangles, and action! :) Main characters live together in both.

kjmerlinz kjmerlinz says...

The main character Aria has the same voice actor as Loise and both have similar personalities. Overpowering, demanding nobility treating others as slaves. Although the plot is very different the tsundere theme is the same.

PlushiexLover PlushiexLover says...

Both include a Tsundere main character and share the same voice actress. The two anime's seem to include a very interesting, comical love plot, in which the "Master" often beats her "Familiar".

Joyous Joyous says...

If you liked one, chances are you'll like the other.  The main difference being Zero is much longer and has more resolution than Hidan no Aria (more seasons to come?).  Also Zero is fantasy based while Hidan is centered around spies.  Same rediculous girls and cookie-cutter protagonists, which people like me like.

Exanna Exanna says...

Both a tsunderes, action, romance, harem, magic and so on. The characters are almost the same, Aria and Louise really look like each other, so do Siesta and Shirayuki, and Reki and Tabitha.

Both anime have a Tsundere charcter that may develope feelings for the male charcter which has special abilities.

Doomoo Doomoo says...

They are both done by the same studio and share many interpersonal relationship traits. Hidan no Aria is more actiony and has a much stronger focus on both action and your typical Tsundere relationship while Ookami-san spends more time on animation and comedy. If you like one you will probably like the other. Both are great and I highly recommend them.

However I would like to mention that both leave a very open ending and have manga that are still behind the anime. So if there is a second season of either it is likely not going to be soon and the manga are not going to catch up for around another year for each.

Yes. Definitely a great way to follow up either anime, as each demonstrates fantastic action scenes, out-of-the-ordinary highschool students, and (who could forget) the ecchi element. If you watch one, watch the other.

Both animes have a certain quirky feel to them; it makes the stories flow and the characters mesh together.  As in C³, Haiden no Aria boasts many exciting fights (this time with guns) as well as a similar level of romance (definitely not too much; after all, our title heroine is a Tsundere).  Definate must watch!

Boy meets girl and then girl lives with boy. This is sort of a stretch, but they still have the same aspects of completing missions together, though there is quite more action in Aria.

In both, a strange girl meets a dorky guy and ends up needing his help. In order to keep tabs on him, she decides it's best if they live together.
