Angelic Layer: Be My Angel is a PV (promotional video) that was made for the 10th anniversary of Angelic Layer. It's 4mins long and uses the song from the opening theme of the anime, Be My Angel by Atsuko Enomoto. You would think that hitting the decade milestone would resault in a well made MV that showcases and celebrates everything that Angelic Layer was. But only the second half does... The thing is, the first half of the MV is just the opening theme, which means that very little effort was put into editing. Not only that, but the song is not even in sync with the visuals. Yes, it is true that the music and visuals don't have to match up with the original opening, but they edited it in a way that feels...off - like someone singing a little bit behind or ahead of the music kind of off. And then there's the second half, which was a little better. It's a combination of the different characters who had major roles in the anime, a tiny handful of major plot moments, and the important fight scenes. While it's not as bad as the first half, it's also not the greatest. Most of it shows the angel fights and a lot of the clips come and go at a fast rate and doesn't mold all that well with the song, which is a happy and upbeat tune - This could just be personal taste though. A song that would have went well with the visuals a lot more - in my opinion - would have been the first end theme, ☆the starry sky☆ by HAL, which has a faster pace and would have fit the tone a lot more. So to sum it all up: it could have been a lot better, considering that it was meant to be for Angelic Layer's 10th anniversary. Instead, it feels like an average MV that anyone with average video editing skills could have made. Oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
