The kingdom of Liones is thrown into turmoil when the king's Holy Knights are corrupted by a distinctly unholy demonic power. The land's only hope is a band of powerful warriors known as The Seven Deadly Sins - an exiled group of oddballs who seem to spend as much time fighting each other as they do fighting their enemies. Princess Elizabeth desperately seeks their aid, but the leader of her would-be saviors turns out to be an undersized pervert with a broken blade and a talking pig! They are soon joined by a jealous giant, a fussy fairy, and an immortal bandit pining over his lost love. Can these people really be the legendary heroes she's looking for?

we have the Seven Deadly Sins in Nanatsu no Taizai, then we have Night Raid in Akame ga Kill! Both sets of main characters are seen as the villains of the world, when in fact, they are the ones who are keeping the peace and balance in the world. In which case, both of these anime implies that the real threat is that which we think is the most trustworthy. There's no such thing as absolute good or absolute evil, there's always more than one side to everything. The Holy Knights of Nanatsu no Taizai and the Capital Government of Akame ga Kill are supposed to be the ones enforcing the law and safekeeping the peace, but, it turns out they're actually the root and source of all problems.
Both have very smilar stories, characters and include a bromance. The beginning starts out about the same with some minor differences but the stories get more similar as you move along.
Both shows have a giant cast with lots of fighting and violence. Good guys, bad guys they are all awesome! The story for both shows start out slow but eventually get super interesting and you'll be glued to your seat wanting more. You should enjoy one if you enjoyed the other for sure.
Both shows are a "Not what it seems" type of anime, where the government is good, and the rebels are the bad guys. But in fact, the rebels are the good guys, and it is the government that is evil. Both anime also start out with a 7 theme, Seven Deadly Sins has 7 legendary heroes and Akame Ga Kill starts out with 7 main characters. They also start off with the main characters already being very strong from the start, and there only being one weak character, that gets stronger as the series progresses.
Both anime are about a group of vigilantes fighting against the corrupt governement. It is set in a midieval setting with knights and the use of magic.
Same setting of ex-communied heroes who use their powers to restore justice. Akame ga Kill! is more on the gory side while The Seven Deadly Sins is more ecchi but you'll not be disappointed either ways.
they both have comedic and uplifting tones but focus heavily of magic/supernatural abilities to fight the dark powers ruling there nations
In both anime a group has made black and everyone thinks that they are the bad guys but in fact they are the good guys fighting against a corupt capital.
So so similar. Tons of bloody awesome violence and action, at odd points characters become romantically driven. The characters are very well developed and intense. They have super powers and abilities and the fighting scenes are spectacular and keep you at the edge of your seat. All of the characters become very likable even the villains.
Corrupt governments are the worst, aren't they? It's always up to some rag-tag bunch of misfits to bring them down, at least, that's what these anime think. The main protagonists are also equipped with special weapons that give them more power, but so is the enemy. Both anime also feature some pretty similar character types, so you may find yourself comparing character A to character B.
Similar storys in the sense that an allegedly evil group is wanted from treason/murder, however that group is compossed of the biggest badass good guys ever ... :P
YOu will like the story of both the anime an d the character dovelopment is damm awesome in both
So, let's say you have walked out of Akame ga Kill feeling deeply depressed and generally annoyed by the almost anticlimatic ending. Well, there's this amazing show called the Seven Deadly Sins which follows roughly the same ideas of having a small specialised team fighting against the government which happens to be corrupt. It also doesn't make you feel like total and udder crap by the end. Still kicks you in the feels a few times though.
It's awesome, they both have many similar qualities in the genre and it's just worth watching in general.
I just want to agree on this recommendation to help out. Now I'm just filling up hundred characters.
Missmatched indivduals in a fantasy setting fighting a vuge but menecing ruler. Sounds like the same show to me! I will addmit Akame ga Kill! is much more mature but that is about the only difference.
I watched Akame Ga Kill! a few months ago (it actually left me depressed lmao) and I started watching The Seven Deadly sins just a few days ago, but immediatly it make me think of Akame Ga Kill!
In Akame Ga Kill!, Tatsumi joined Night Raid after a few incidents. In which, they have extraordinary weapons and physical abilites, just like in The Seven Deadly Sins.
Both Night Raid and Seven Deadly Sins work against a faulty government, fighting against knights with extraordinary weapons and abilites. The only really big difference I see between Akame Ga Kill! and The Seven Deadly Sins, is that the latter has a lighter, more humorous tone than Akame Ga Kill!
In either way, both of them are great animes, I try do recommend y'all watch em both.
both feature a group of people wronguflly accused of rebelling against a utopic society, when said society is the corrupt.
Both Akame ga Kill! and The Seven Deadly Sins' first season tell the similar story of a misunderstood group of outlaws fighting to overthrow a corrupt government in place. Both shows do a good job of showing solid fight scenes with powerful weapons, and show the journey of an innocent character grow stronger upon joining the outlawed good guys fighting to bring justice to the corrupt and restore hope to the people.
Aside from the obvious "rebel group fighting tha corrupt government" theme. What really got me in both series are the character interactions, the entire cast is a joy to watch bouncing on each other, there are no boring or annoying (IMO) characters in either Night Raid or the Sins.
PD: if you are on the market for a waifu there is a nice catalog of girls with actual personality to choose from in any of these. not the typical helpless dumb girl waiting for the hero (aside for certain princess)
The two is very closely related actually. And I am dissappointed in both. It starts like a promising lore of death or life battles, but at the end it just becomes filled with ecchi stuff directed at newly adolescent pubescent boys.
Many years ago, a Great Civil War ravaged Japan, leaving the country fragmented between two regions: Kansai and Kanto. In Kansai, a group of six Akudama carry out missions given to them by a mysterious black cat, while evading the police. But a dangerous journey is about to unfold when a civilian girl becomes twisted into the Akudama's way of life and witnesses their criminal drives.

The reason is pretty obvious. Both have some political themes that matter to the plot. Also both follow the story of 'criminals' despite them being the protagonists or main team. And iykyk...
These Animes Are Quite Similar , a similarity is that the endings are both sad And honestly i am pretty sure that if you like Akame ga kill you will like this anime
i think these animes are so similiar. they have nice plot a yall must watch it,because its not long, have nice characters, nice emotions and nice action
I watched both and they feel the same to me maybe the implementation of the stories in both sides is a bit different but I can say that these 2 are pretty much the same 1- you are not a fan of government in this anime 2-the criminals in the eye of government are the heroes of the story 3-they end up in kind of a revolution against the government 4-there is spoilers if I say this one but if you watch the anime until the end it is obvious that these 2 are pretty similar in this one. let's say sacrifices ought to be made! anyways long story short I think if you've liked akame ga kill there is a good chance you would like akudama drive as well because they are basically the same
Both stories main cast is made of up criminals in the eye of the goverment though were they different lies in the motives and reasons why they are criminals. But it still gives you the feeling of cheering for what technially the "bad guys". As for the characters in both seiers they have a simlair progresstions to the end.
no reviving of main characters and different people assembled together for a main goal. Really enjoyed it, second time watching an anime like this (AGK was first). I watch more revivy stuff so it is always a shock.
Wanted fugitives(including MC) go up against a militia group set up by the state. The main difference between these two anime is that Akudama Drive is set in a futuristic era while Akama ga Kill is the exact opposite. The goals and motivation of the MC's group are different but in both anime they are goind againts the state so...
A street kid tries to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner — a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.

Very similar in the fact that a harmless kid joins a band of gangsters and they do some shenanigans. The heroines are also very similar in both. Different because of their time periods.
Both are gory and dark anime where are young main character joins a gang of mercenaries/assassins. Thoughtful both nobody is safe almost every member of these groups is kill, both also end in the same way where only one member of the group is left standing.
Both similar in terms of young male protagonist joining band of underdogs who go around completing requests. In terms of the overall plot and other characters, there are also similarities, although I must say that each character in Akame Ga Kill has more emphasised backstory than that of Edgerunners.
They both have the same feel and do not hold back on the gore. I would say the only difference is the era they were both set in. You will enjoy watching both.

(I copied one of the other comments beacuse i was to lazy to write my own
I found that they both had heart wrenching and comedic values with extremely well done writing to top it off
The only difference between these 2 is the time period, but personaly I found the feels to be a little bit more grapling in Cyberpunk.
Oboro, a naive, love-struck girl, is pledged to Gennosuke, an idealist. Both are successors to opposing ninja clans with a long history of hatred kept barely in check by a covenant of peace. Just as the two vow to reconcile the clans with their marriage, the shogun orders the feud to resume in order to resolve an internal struggle that threatens to tear the Tokugawa shogunate apart. Even worse, Oboro and Gennosuke themselves are forced to lead their clans in battle. Can the star-crossed lovers resist the brutal circumstances and remain true to their love as the death toll rises?

both stories revolve around two gangs and there is alot of blood and deaths between them two. animations are good on both and stories are good aswell. though basilisk is maybe much sadder and more violent, akame has it`s moments too.
Basilisk is slighty more dark, with equally as stellar animation. The storyline is a little more robust than Akame, a definite must watch.
As the others said; both are about two sides trying to wipe ech other out.And while the violence is entertaining, it's not completely glorified - In AGK they even say that while they consider themselves to be the 'good guys' they are still committing heinous acts to achieve their goals. The animation and sound are fantastic... Especially in Basilisk, I think it was quite ahead of its time. And while AGK has a bit of fan service (NOT a good thing in my opinion), panty shots and the like, both of them still have a dark atmosphere with lots of emotions. These are two of the few animes (or any tv shows/movies for that matter) that have actually caused me to feel emotional. Two of my favourite animes... Two of the BEST animes as far as I'm concerned... K (K-Project) is another... if you haven't seen any of the three, I highly recommend you watch them ASAP!!
Both stories are about opposing factions that must fight each other to the death, the fights are brutal and you never know who is going to win and who will die next.
Both anime feature a large scale death match between 2 groups that use a great variety of exotic weapons and fighting styles. While Akame has a focus on assassins and Basilisk focuses on Ninjas, both have strict disciplines that they follow.
Over a century ago, mankind was devoured by giant beings of unknown intelligence and origin known as Titans – creatures that eat humans alive indiscriminately and for no apparent reason. The remaining population has managed to survive the last hundred years only by building a multi-walled city capable of keeping the Titans at bay, training military recruits to patrol the perimeter and gather intelligence about their mysterious foe. Eren and Mikasa have lived a relatively peaceful life behind the city's walls, but when a massive Titan appears, smashing the outer barrier and unleashing a wave of terror, their lives are brutally changed forever...

The Medieval period, the assasionations, the "dont get attatched to the characters" rule, (because a few of them end up dying.) It's emotional drama, violence and action.
I watched them both, and I have to say. They're both amazing.
The main character wants to become a guard for basically the same reason: To protect the ones they hold most dear.
If you like Akame ga Kill! you will definately like Attack on Titan, believe me!
Hey, heard you like poop.
Both are pretty bad, both have plastic characters and a whole load of ridiculous hype behind them. If you like one, try the other.
Both are violent, story thats cringy and non existent as it goes on, and has ridiculously childish techniques to try keeping you on your toes.
Both stories take place in rather dark fictional worlds were survival is a struggle and a group of people are trying to change it all while getting to the heart of the real problem. Also there is plenty of gore in both series and neather one is afraid of killing off characters so procede with caution.
Bassicaly Akame ga kill and Attack on Titan has a very good mutual thing: side characters (and mains too) die, well Tatsumi and Eren (Season 1,2) are pretty much the same, both want to protect their relatives/friends and enlists in the army.
Legend says, when the Evil God awakens from the deepest of darkness, the god of fate will summon Six Braves and grant them with the power to save the world. Adlet, who claims to be the strongest on the face of this earth, is chosen as one of the “Brave Six Flowers,” and sets out on a battle to prevent the resurrection of the Evil God. However, it turns out that there are Seven Braves who gathered at the promised land...

It has same "feel" to it. I believe if you'll like Rokka no Yuusha/Akame ga Kill, you'll also like the other one too.
Both series have amazing characters that are very likeable and very strong, both shows have strong protaganists that always have a new trick up their sleeve; and are both also kind of narcissistic and arrogant about themselves.
Both have the same amount of Mistery, Action, Martial arts, Fantasy, Gore, etc.
You'll love and feel the caracters equal.
Also excelent animations and characters.
I liked both of them. They shared a similar vibe and if you enjoyed one, you will likely enjoy the other.
i quite like about the story and how they fix the problem to guess who is the true flower. So, i think this story is so interesting. Mostly the one who like action, adventure, and mystery genres must like this anime. And now i'm still waiting about the season 2 of this movie whether i'm not sure when it will publish. So,come on watch this movie !!!
Rokuro Okajima is a small-time salaryman who is carrying documents for his company, when the ship he's traveling on is attacked by pirates. Kidnapped, he discovers to his dismay that his employers' main concern is to ensure the documents don't get into the wrong hands, even if it means sending the carrier to the bottom of the sea. Now, with his former life ruined and his kidnappers seeming comparatively friendly, "Rock" decides to join their merry band of mercenaries, and sets out with a new career to the shadier corners of the South China Sea.

From what iv've seen from Akame ga Kill and Black Lagoon so far, they share some similarities, such as first off being hostile to the Mercs/ assassins, then after some thought, winds up joining them instead of leaving
Both Black Lagoon and Akame ga Kill! follow a group of assassins and each has a character that is really not the norm. They stumble on to something (or in to!) situations that pull them into the world of hired guns/swords for kill. There are great moments of levity and humor that work very well to offset the darker aspects of the assassinations. Both series are serious in the handling of death, as it is not a game but a very 'real' event and your own death can be found around the next corner.
Black Lagoon offers boobs, much better villians and characters. A storyline full of vice and constant all rediculous action. If you thought the dialogue and characters of Akame ga kill was intelligent then you'll be happy to know that 90 percent of the rest of the anime out there do it better. So it's only up from here! People die in awesome ways and the animation is sexy. Normally I'd never recommend an watching an anime dubbed... but this anime's dub is amazing.
To a certain extent I think that both of these animes have similarities. Whilst the plots differ, there is the same level of gore and violence in both Akame ga Kill! and Black Lagoon. Both series feature very physically strong characters with the same 'anti-hero' attitudes. There is also a mix of assassins and mercenaries, as well as protagonists with very colourful histories. The lead in both is, by comparision, a fairly 'moral' person whom decides to join the groups after much deliberation. I personally prefur Akame ga Kill! becasue of the dramatic plot and the awesome character art.
In 2010, the Britannian Empire enslaved Japan using powerful mecha known as Knightmares; in the aftermath Japan was renamed Area 11, and its people began a hard and terrible existence. Lelouch, a Britannian student living in Area 11, has grown up hating the Empire and everything it stands for. One day, in the middle of a terrorist attack, Lelouch meets a mysterious girl who grants him the ability to control minds. Can he use his new power to fight for freedom, or will his hatred twist his good intentions into mindless acts of vengeance?
If you like rebels, Code Geass is also suited for you. Though this is less assassin and more frontal attacks, Lelouch too hides in the shadows pondering over his next course to action. Also great fighting scenes, good animation and interesting character development.
Like Akame ga Kill, Code Geass is about a group of terrorists rebelling against the wrongs and laws of a country after it took over their country and changed everything for them.
In both shows the protagonists are given extraordinary powers and spearhead the revolution to overthrow the unjust emperor. In either of them there is an often brought up argument of whether one should take arms against oppresion or work along with the system and change it from the inside. Also I should mention that both series have a large cast of diverse and memorable characters each with their own set of skills, ideals and ambitions, the kind we love to love as well as those we love to hate.
Both shows blur the line of morals and lay out good and evil as not so black and white. Call it the moral grey area if you will. Both shows are about a rebel group trying to overthrow the governtment of some sort. Without spoiling either show, they do have their differences. Code Geass has a bit more fan service and is considerably less gory than Akame ga kill. However Akame ga kill is a lot more brutal and is incredibly sad, not for the faint of hearts. Both shows are great and worth your time if you like destroying evil governments.
Hope’s Peak Private Academy is a super-exclusive institute that gathers the best and the brightest, provides them with a world-class education, and propels them into any career they wish. At least, that’s what the average student Naegi used to think. Having been accepted into a class of 15 students through a lottery system, the boy quickly comes to learn that Hope’s Peak is no ordinary school. In reality, he and the group find themselves trapped inside and learn that the only way to "graduate" is to murder a fellow student and fool everyone in a trial that determines life or death! Led by the whimsically-cruel, teddy-bear-like Monobear, Naegi and the others must do whatever it takes to escape this bizarre, deadly game.

Both of these shows start off in a similar fashion. The protagonist heads to what looks like a bright new location, but as the episode progresses finds out he's in a life or death situation. Neither of these shows hold anything back when it comes to killing off main characters and sometimes the deaths can be outright cruel. What I find that Danganronpa: The Animation and Akame ga Kill! have most in common is a similar sense of tension. In Danganronpa, the characters are placed in a high school where they must kill someone to "graduate". The tension comes from seeing what will motivate the characters to turn on one another and when they'll break. In Akame ga Kill! the protagonists and villains fight with weapons known as Imperial Arms, in which battles between two people using those weapons will end with one of the combatanats dying. The tension comes from the frequency of Imperial Arms battles and how each character will fight for their survival. Despite being primarily dark series they also both have a slight sense of humor and the characters are mostly your typical anime streotypes.
Both include a relatively wide cast of characters, some mental struggles and lots of deaths. Different settings and basic premise but if you enjoy wondering who is going to die next these will probably float yer boat.
Both seem lighthearted and colorful at first glance, but immediately turn violent. They both kill off main characters, quickly and in grotesque ways.
It's really funny, because I had just watched Danganronpa and I wanted to watch something more fantasy like.. so I started watching Akame Ga Kill.. What I've noticed is they both have it where no one is safe and main characters start to get killed off.
Kicked out of his orphanage and on the verge of starving to death, Nakajima Atsushi meets some strange men. One of them, Dazai Osamu, is a suicidal man attempting to drown himself in broad daylight. The other, bespectacled Kunikida Doppo, nervously stands by flipping through a notepad. Both are members of the "Armed Detective Agency" said to solve incidents that even the military and police won't touch. Atsushi ends up accompanying them on a mission to eliminate a man-eating tiger that's been terrorizing the population... In the virtual city of Yokohama are individuals bearing the name of Bungo, "literary masters," who possess unusual powers likened to that name. Now begins the battle between the mysterious Bungo powers!
Both animes are about a group who either has a special ability or a special weapon that makes them different from others. The characters fight others who also have these weapons or abilities. The main character is a young male who has left his "home" for various reasons and is now in a new city without any place to go. He ends up in the organization almost by force after being involved in an incident with said organization.
Both of these anime involve groups with super-human abilities, although how they obtain the abilities differs from anime to anime. Both groups have an enemy with similarly powered people, and the frequent action scenes can be a little over the top because of all the abilities.
The main difference is that Stray dogs work with the government, while Akame Ga Kill work against the government. But, in the end, both groups are working to help the general public.
With a lot of the episodes showcasing the abilities of the members, you're sure to find some you like in both anime, so give it a shot!
A secret group of superpowered dudes trying to take out evil dudes with their weapons and stuff. Same thing in both.
