Shoyo Hinata isn't a large guy, but he's got huge ambitions. Ever since seeing a small player score in a National Championship, he's been determined to become the next big thing in High School Volleyball. Unfortunately, the one time he was able to pull enough players together to form a team in junior high, they were completely trashed in their first and only match against a team led by up-and-coming setter Tobio Kageyama. Now, enrolled at the same high school where his idol once played, Shoyo's finally going to get his shot to join and play with a top team. There's just one problem: Tobio Kageyama's decided to attend the same school, and he's already considered one of the best players in the game. Can a kid out of nowhere hold his own against the King of the Court? Or could the rivalry and competition actually be the best thing for both of them?
Both are shounen anime's about similar sports (basketball/volleyball) and the struggles/team building that take place in their respective schools.
The main characters struggle with their height, making it difficult to play their favorite sport. Despite that, they make up for it with other amazing skills and friends.
Both sports need height and they both are small It that doesn’t mean they can’t play And the character development is great
I love Haikyuu. A friend recomended it to me and It was hilarius. The main charecter is alays so determined ot make his dreams come true.
They were known as the 'Generation of Miracles' – five basketball prodigies who helped lead Teiko Middle School's basketball team to glory, defeating anyone who got in their way. But a mysterious rumor tells of a sixth, a phantom player who the five prodigies respected greatly. That boy is Tetsuya Kuroko, a freshman at Seirin High and the newest member of the basketball club. Alongside strong teammates such as Taiga Kagami, Kuroko will use his unique skills on the court to help the team defeat old rivals and make their way to the championships.
1) Basketball, 2) Shorthaired Trainer, also both have that one girl that can't cook, 3) Small quick MC and tall deliquient looking guy in a team.
I like Ahiru no Sora and Kuroko's Basketball because the concept in Basketball is AWESOME!
Pretty much ITS WORTH THE HYPE!
HOPE YOU WOULD LIKE IT!
A "small" new student, Ushio Hinomaru, appears before the weak little sumo club of Oodachi High School. The words "big" and "heavy" are the rules to this sport, which does not fit this newbie one bit, but Ushio surprises everyone. Ushio and the small sumo club climbs its way to the top with a goal to reach the highest rank, Hinoshita Kaisan.
One of the animes is a sumo and other is a basketball but at the start of them at the high schools, the club is taken over by deliquents when the main character first get to their school but the clubs soon start training to become the best.
One Main Male character lacks the physique typically required for a sport they love. Their “inferior” physical stature doesn’t hold them back from putting everything + into their respective sport. Both short-statued m.m.c’s build a team that aids and riles them up. Both dream of getting better and seek to find others enthusiastic about their respective sport.
Both anime’s delve into talent vs hard work and the ways in which varying degrees of the two combined aid or hinder not just the m.c.s but secondary and minor characters as well.
Both animes also start off with delinquents who pose a threat to the team and the m.m.c. has to show them how to put their abilities towards something productive rather than destructive.
