Chivalry of a Failed Knight

Chivalry of a Failed Knight

Ikki Kurogane may have come from a long line of Blazers, people with the ability to create weapons or devices manifested from their souls, but as far as the Hagun Academy is concerned, he's been a major disappointment in the magical powers department. He is so disappointing, in fact, that he's earned the unfortunate nickname of the "Worst One". However, things change for Ikki in the most surprising way when Princess Stella Vermillion, the most promising Rank-A Blazer to come along in many years, decides to transfer to Hagun. When she challenges him to a duel where the loser must obey the winner for the rest of their life, the last thing anyone expects is that the Worst One might prove to be a match for the Crimson Princess… and the unforeseen consequences will push the boundaries of society itself!

Before I've seen the first episode of 'Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry' I never knew that people actually use the 'Copy & Paste' technique in anime.

They both have the same concept and are very similar a guy and girl are paired up as roomates and they must overcome a tournament of sorts together and in the middle of it all they start to "like" eachother.

Gundaroes Gundaroes says...

They both have a similar setting - a school where people are taught to use their weapons

The main character seems to be similar - He is the owner of the one different weapon, but he finds ways to adapt to his situation, in order to be the best.(Lilith Bristol's weapon, from Absolute Duo, does not count as, personally, I view her gun as an offensive weapon)

Although both these points are true, I would not say that one is a ripoff of the other. They both have their own well thought out enviroment/world and thier own share of problematic encounters.

TheDevilToufu TheDevilToufu says...

Both anime are almost the same but both have their own way to be interesting. They both uses the same idea of "Blaze", a weapon from your soul. So why not watch both?

lindapearl lindapearl says...

Both anime consist of magical weapons called Blazers and take place in a school. Both anime also consist of a male and female sharing a dorm together. The main female characters, Stella from Chivalry of a Failed Knight and Julie from Absolute Duo, are both view as one of the strongest students in their school. Whereas, the main male characters, Tooru and Ikki, are both considered weak but aim to become stronger and stand on equal grounds with the main female character. There’s also bits of romance between the main female and male characters. If you like one you might like the other.

They may essentially be the same, with a little bit of chage to the "plot" (pun definitely intended), but in this case, it is not necessarily a bad thing. Both of them are excelent anime that I would highly recomend watching, and are both currently the only anime I have rated at a full five stars (which is very difficult as I am a very judgemental person, and while many have gotten 4/5 or 4.5/5, these two really got me interested, and the phrase "hook, line, and sinker" accurately sums up these two for me. The only regret I have is that (as it is for most anime I watch) there is no second season or movie continuation, but I have pretty much gotten used to that (although the thing I hate most is the cliffhangers they leave at the end of a series, I'm looking at you GATE and The Familiar of Zero), and this one did a pretty good job of not leaving a massive cliffhanger at the end that makes you search for that nonexistent continuation, and then crushes you when you find out there is none, and there will never be one.

These two animes are both harems. Plus, they are both centered around supernatural fighting. The bond the characters make in t hem are very similar which gives a similar vibe off both of them.

They both are magic school themed, they both have a group of friends, so and so forth. I really enjoyed both.

mesanator mesanator says...

While watching the first episode, I thought both took place in the same universe as in both the characters use their spirit to summon blazers aka weapons.

JustInCaseD JustInCaseD says...

School based fighting anime that revolves around a boy and a girl sharing a room together. Both also summon weapons called Blazers that are essentially the embodiment of the soul of each person.

Chivalry is basically Absolute Duo - but made better in almost every shared aspect. Romance, character development, main character, fight scenes, etc.

I think this anime is in a way similar to Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance.  This story line is awesome and the way they did the character's profiles are awesome.  I highly recomend this anime show, since it shows real potential.

They arent too similar but they are seriosly both extremely good to watch. They both have aFantacy sense to it and a lot of comedy. This anime will keep many viewers at the end of their seat during battles.

i agree because both are soul powers and i think they both are like each other

so you watch it and romance is very good in both of these anime

minoriakabe minoriakabe says...

Both animes have their m/c as swordsmen. Their weapons exists thanks to the power that comes from their souls. In short, they use a kind of magic to fight.

There are not a lot of differences between the two. Both animes have a special school especially for those kind of students, there's a lot of competitions between the students and unexplainable powers of the m/c.

Fantasy/superpower/school-life genre lovers should watch this.

saffydog461 saffydog461 says...

There not entirely the same but definitely have the same sort of feel about them. The whole fantasy world and the back story for both are quite good. Definitely a good match if you like to watch these sorts of things.

Kind of similar plot about Magic users (or sort of power), tho Blade dance for me was more like Zero no tsukaima. But i really recommend this show if you loved Absolute duo... its funny, cute, well made! :)

JoshuaAmadeus210400 JoshuaAmadeus210400 says...

Both anime have male protagonists who are considered unique. In Absolute Duo, the protagonist has an irregular weapon crested with his powers while in Blade Dance, the protagonist is the only man with special power that most girls does. Not only that, both protagonists have bad luck with women, always getting into troubles due to accidents related to their female friends.

-Hinted Romance

hamletsmage hamletsmage says...

Both of these schools rely on the fighting ability of its students. To gauge this ability, the students form pairs that must find harmony together in order to advance their skills. Also, the weaponry is based on the individuality of each stident, their soul if you will. Humor and action are also pretty intertwined in these anime. If you liked those aspects, give the other anime a shot.

This is my favorite anime out of every anime show that I have ever watched.  I mean whoever created this show is a genius.  The two main characters are so raw that I wish that they were real, and if they were real I woud keep playing against them even though I would know that I would always lose.  And the world that they are in, amazing.  I wish I can go there.  I would definitely recommend this anime.

Tge romance aspect is kind of different but its there in both. Both anime also have great comedy to say the least and a really good storyline.

Both of these animes revolve around a group of students that can manifest weapons from their bodies, either mechs or weapons. While My Hime's weapon-producing power is limited to only females, Absolute Duo doesn't skimp on the ladies either. Both anime have some comedy, plenty of action and danger, and hints of romance thrown in. Why not make these two a duo?

Both of these anime are about school-age warriors that use a variety of weapons to fight their foes. Both are centered around a young man whose power is a bit different from everyone else. There's at least: 1 white-haired foreign student, 1 person obsessed with senpai, 1 badass senpai, several side chracters for comedy, and just the teensiest, tiniest... rather large side of ecchi.

If you like one, try out the other.
