If you like survival anime where the characters are constantly bombarded with various conflicts (both internal and external) and obstacles on their journeys, then these anime would be perfect for you.  Both Japan Sinks 2020 and 7 Seeds contain a cast of various ages who must go through different adventures in order to stay alive.

Watching Japan Sinks really reminded me of 7 Seeds. You're following a team of survivors as they face unthinkable events and heartbreaking circumstances. There's also a sense of not being able to go back to the way things have always been.

Both shows follow a group of young people trying to start from scratch to rebuild society after a worldwide calamity level event. Both also focus on the scientific and realistic struggles people would face in rebuilding society from scratch.

Jaimefm Jaimefm says...

Both of these anime involve people waking up in the distant future. They are forced to think creatively and solve problems. Though Dr. Stone focuses more on the scientific side of things, there is plenty of critical thinking and a big focus on survival and the future of humanity.

MyNeighm MyNeighm says...

they both are set in a post-disaster/apocalyptic scenario where there are a few people from before it that are trying to fix things, but they're just different enough that the other is still interesting.

The main characters in these animes wake up to an unfamilar world after an apocalyptic event after being in a comatose state for many years.

TempestAethel TempestAethel says...

Talentless Nana and 7 Seeds are both intriguing anime series, but they have distinct themes and narratives. Here are some similarities and differences between the two:

Similarities:

  1. Survival Theme: Both series revolve around survival in challenging circumstances.
  2. Group Dynamics: The characters in both series are part of a group and their interactions and relationships significantly impact the storyline.

Differences:

  1. Setting: While 7 Seeds is set in a post-apocalyptic world where a group of young people are trying to survive after a meteorite collision, Talentless Nana is set in a school on a deserted island where students with superpowers are trained to fight the “Enemies of Humanity”.
  2. Protagonists: The protagonists in the two series have different roles. In 7 Seeds, the characters are survivors trying to navigate through the new world. In contrast, Nana Hiiragi, the protagonist in Talentless Nana, is a government assassin sent to eliminate her superpowered classmates.
  3. Tone: 7 Seeds has a more serious and somber tone as it deals with survival in a post-apocalyptic world. On the other hand, Talentless Nana, despite its dark theme, has elements of suspense and psychological thriller.
