All they must do is sign a contract with Kyubey and agree to fight witches that spread despair to the human world, and in return they will be granted a single wish.  Almost akin to Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica. You could even say it pulls a lot from the show Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica, but no ware near as good.

Death Parade

Death Parade

When two people die at the same time, they're sent to a place that's neither heaven nor hell: a lavish bar between worlds where the stakes are high and the rules are simple: if you win you live again, if you die you're gone for good. Decim is the bartender charged with serving the souls who enter Quindecim. He may make a mean cocktail, but his true profession is to play the role of arbiter: a judge who determines whether or not a soul is worthy of reincarnation. To aid in his judgment, the bar's patrons are forced to play simple games laced with sadistic twists designed to bring their true natures to light. To Decim, judgment has always been black and white - that is until he meets a mysterious young woman whose fate seems impossible to decide. His indecision shakes the very foundation of the games and raises the biggest question of all: who is fit to judge the dead?

Both shows have a main character exploring a strange, sometimes trippy world. Both have a somewhat confusing way of telling the story and are kinda out there.

Both shows have a male protagonist who solves problems of different girls in a sort of episodic fashion. Both narratives don't really follow a linear fashion but have a semblance of a plot within them.

Also both of shows handle a variety of different art styles, with Bakemonogatari having more art styles than 18if.

Bungo and Alchemist: Gears of Judgement

Bungo and Alchemist: Gears of Judgement

The series follows a group of historic writers (all based on real people) who use their special abilities to rescue books that have been cursed by the “Taints,” an evil force. While its premise is fantastical, the series’ core focus will be on its characters, some of whom you may recognize, including Ryunosuke Akutagawa and H.P. Lovecraft.
