Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos

on Jan 21, 2012

Story The storyline for "Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos" disappointed me on several levels. It felt cheesy, overly-political, and hackneyed. The whole story felt incredibly rushed, with horrificly bad dialogue. The wrong turn they made with this effort, was straying from the series country, and own characters. Whereas the first film "CoS" had used a few new characters to add to the plot and closure of the first series, "Milos" just made it more convoluted, and added a slew of characters we could barely care about.  Animation Let's just say that it... Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

on Sep 28, 2011

Story In a few words, the story of FMA is original, captivating, heart-wrenching, beautiful, inspiring, and breathtaking. The story of two brothers, who lost everything, yet they carry on, and venture forth into an incredible journey. Now, FMA: Brotherhood begins just like the original anime, however, it eventually diverges and follows the path of the original manga. Needless to say, this is one hell of a story, and it is quite possibly even better then the first anime's divergence.   Animation The animation here is more crisp, with darker lines, high-def richer colors, and incredible action... Story In a few words, the story of FMA is original, captivating, heart-wrenching, beautiful, inspiring, and breathtaking. The story of two brothers, who lost everything, yet they carry on, and venture forth into an incredible journey. Animation The animation uses soft coloring, portraying the "turn of the century" industrial - steampunk era very nicely throughout the series. Fight scenes are of epic proportions, especially the one between Greed and Ed. Ed and Al's metallic parts glisten and shine. The animation is fluid, beautiful, and will keep your eyes glued to the screen. Sound Oh... See full review

Nodame Cantabile

on Sep 28, 2011

Story "Nodame Cantabile" takes place in a conservatory, and follows some of it's very talented and passionate students. Similar to "Honey & Clover", yet extremely different in tone and structure. The story mainly revolves around sloppy musical prodigy Noda Megumi (Nodame) and clean cut musical genius Shinichi Chiaki. I would like to let everyone know that many comparisons have been made between "Nodame Cantabile" and "Honey & Clover"While having been an art design college student myself, who once played the flute and trombone in an orchestra, I can relate to... Honey and Clover

on Sep 28, 2011

Story Honey & Clover is about a group of young art college students, essentially finding their places in the world, and learning the meaning of growing up. In a nutshell it is a romantic dramedy filled with some of the corniest "poetic" dialogue I have ever heard in an anime.   Animation If H&C has anything, it's got to be it's "style". I mean hey! It is an anime about art college isn't it? Therefore the soft colors, and whimsical almost "indie" feel of it is necessary to set this anime apart from the pack. I enjoyed the animation, the shading, and the soft... See full review
