Gokinjo Monogatari
Jan 2, 2011I couldnt get past the first episode. It was just so boring to me.
I usually dont like it when people only compare animes, instead of giving me strait up information... since i usually havnt seen the anime that they are comparing it to.
But, I am about to do it... (since there are no other reviews)
this anime is very similar to paradise kiss. the animation(art style). The characters. The voices. The atmosphere. the story. The music, or lack of... (I kind of wish i wouldnt have watched paradise kiss, but i thought it was going to get better or w/e, but it didnt really)
the male main, has the voice of usopp off of one peice. thats kind of wierd too.
Anyways... watch the first episode if you dont believe me.

I think this anime is really unique and good. Really good. As far as I can tell (haven't watched it all yet), it is a surprisingly good adaption of the manga, which I have read. Of course it has some quirks, since it is made in 90's style, but if you can overlook that, this is a very cute anime that many females will love.
I don't expect you to like it, since you're in no way part of the target group for this anime. But what bothers me is that you just say that you don't like it. Why do you not like it? What I extract from this review is; 1. you didn't like Paradise Kiss, 2. you find the music in this show lacking and 3. you hate Tsutomu's voice since it's the same as Usopp from One Piece.
From these three dull observations you give it the rating 2? I've also rated a show from watching one episode, and I think that's fine - and I like when people have an opinion, but when they lack arguments it's worth nothing.
I realize its from the same group. I watched paradise kiss all the way through, and kind of wished I had not. I felt the same feeling with this show, except worse, so i didnt want to take a chance. If there was anyone else in my shoes (either has seen paradise kiss, or doesnt want to watch the whole thing just to see if they like it, then this review is for them.)
Yeah, i dont expect a miracle (im not critisizing the maker's style. Im just giving my opinion). Im glad you commented aircommondore, since its a conflicting view. It gives people another perspective different from mine without writing a whole review yourself.

The reason it's so similar to ParaKiss is 'cause they have the same mangaka, and she has a very distinctive style/niche.
I'm watching this now, and adore it, though it is really slow (but what can you expect from a slice-of-life?).
Well, im not going to disagree with you; however, there are no other reviews on this anime. Even if you dont like me, since i gave a "bad" review on this anime, maybe that encourages you to watch it or give a good review. If there are others that continually do not like my reviews, i will take them down and quit posting.
