An Introduction to "vulpecularing"
I am "vulpecularing" (which comes from the word vulpine- meaning fox-like). Call me Tori though, it is much simpler. I have a life outside of anime, it includes reading, fashion, psychology, friends, family, movies, music, sewing, drawing, school work, and cooking. I am pretty awkward when it comes to social gatherings in general, but still lovable.
Myself and Anime/Manga
My affair with anime started when I was eight and I first watched Pokémon. I. Was. Hooked. I quit ballet because I always had practice when Pokémon was on. A few years later I was up past my bedtime and stumbled upon InuYasha. That was my gateway anime. I watched it every night and discovered the vast world of anime because of it. It will always hold a special spot in my heart.
I prefer subbed to dubbed, as I'm sure most of you do. I think the dialogue and voices are better, with a few exceptions. I love adventure, comedy, drama, fantasy, horror, mecha, mystery, and romance (unless the anime is centered around that) animes. I can't stand ecchi (in excessive amounts), magical girl (too cute for me), and sports (booring).
I like to buy rather than read manga online because I feel I am supporting the artist/writer more that way. (I do this with music as well; you won’t find any illegal songs on my iPod) My favorite manga of all time is NANA with Magical x Miracle (my first manga ever) close behind.
5 Stars- Five stars mean I loved every second of that anime. Thinking about it makes me smile and my heart beat extra fast (is it just me or am I personifying anime to much?). I would suggest it to everyone. Five starts also means it is one of my favorites.
4 Stars- If I gave an anime four stars it means I enjoyed it, but there were times I was bored. Or when I compared it to my five star animes it did not even come close. I would suggest these animes to people who like the genre or animes with similar elements.
3 Stars- Average. That is what three stars means. The anime was not bad, but it was not good either. It had its moments where I was glad I was watching it, but there were times were I wanted to pull me hair out. I'd recommend it to people who like the genre.
2 Stars- Waste of time, that is what two stars mean. If I could go back in time and warn my past self not to watch that anime, I would. Most likely, I found the characters annoying and the plot lacking. I would not suggest the anime to anyone.
1 Star- These are the worst of the worst. I can't complain enough. If you were to ask me one good thing about the anime it would be that it ended. I do not have many one stars because I try to avoid animes that suck.
