I'm a recently graduated physics/math major who writes anime reviews for some reason. As I finished up my physics major, I realized that I just wasn't interested in pursuing the field as a career, so instead I kicked some ass at my GRE's and got an assistantship to study at the department of statistics at Colorado State University. Why statistics? Well, WHY NOT?
Besides anime, my main interests are writing, strategic gaming (poker, magic: the gathering, go, chess, etc), and internet piracy.
As far as my reviews/star ratings go: In general, a 6 (***) is watchable, a 7 (***1/2) is good and an 8 (****) is a must-see.

"I'm not sure where you really got the impression that I was butthurt". A couple reasons why I got the impression. The big one is this. You responded to me because you thought I was insulting you (I wasnt, so Idk why you keep grading my effort to do so) which means you took some personal issue with what I said. Thats usually what "butthurt" means. The opposite feeling would of been you not giving a shit and going about your business.
Anyways you want me to present you with some real arguments as to why I felt your review was wrong? Sure why not. Your review, especially your review of the story was simply a facetious rant full of big words, big words that signified nothing. Take a look at your review of the MF story. If I were to scratch out the word Macross Frontier, no one would have any freaking clue about what anime your were talking about. When people review a story, they usually, idk, talk about the story. You do no such thing, its 300 words or so of you saying nothing. Actually I could plug in what your wrote into any review of an anime I didnt like and pass it off as a good opinion. Its that generic.
Heres the thing, I've read your other reviews, and compared them to the one you wrote about MF and one could easily see you didnt give two shits about putting forth a decent effort. Your review was sloppy, half-assed, totally biased and inaccurate to a fucking T. Anybody whos watched MF would utterly disagree on everything that was said. Look brah, if MF wasnt your cup of tea, then it wasnt your cup of tea, but just because you didnt like it doesnt mean it was a shitty anime. If your gonna write a review about an anime that you didnt like, then at least write an unbiased one thats not misleading. as opposed to a half assed rant about how pissed you were that you had to sit through 25 ep. of stupidity. That kind of shit is amateurish and not befitting of a "veteran" reviewer. That sir, is my argument as to why your review was wrong.
I'm thinking about writing a community review for Only Yesterday and I know you are a veteran reviewer. Do you have any tips or links for writing reviews? And, I am by no means an eloquent writer. I asked VivisQueen to write a review but it seems she is no longer active.

You know how when everyone goes on and on about this great show that you think was more so-so and it just makes you want to bash it harder than it deserves? It's a bit like that, although I didn't think I was ragging on Toradora that much. I just find it average and don't know what all the fuss is about. I couldn't warm to the characters, I found the content unoriginal, and I never quite got how the romance was supposed to work. I did like the animation and the plot overall wasn't bad - heck, had its moments of giggles. For me it was like a wishy-washy Haruhi. But I appreciate it's one of the most popular things on earth right now, so maybe I just wasn't paying attention *<--- actually thinks everyone's just blind*.
Incidentally, it was a good idea to drop RotLW at ep 3. It only get worse. I'm on episode five and there was a ball where Deedlit runs around being admired by all the ladies. Wow. Just wow.
