Well, just like the forums said, this was a total copy-pasta of the anime series, much like a Windows Movie Maker edit-job. The transition between scenes was terrible, even AMVs do a better job of conveying a coherent story. If someone tried to watch this as an intro to the franchise, im sure it would've killed the story for them entirely. The most awesome scenes are shown, but without proper pacing and set-up (which was already a bit of a problem in the 24ep anime) these scenes lose their impact.
However, not all is bad about this TV reproduction. Really, if we consider it as a refresher/recap of what happened in the anime verison, say, 3 years after having seen it on tv, then it's perfect to view before the movie UBW. Which, quite evidently, is what the studio intended it to be, seeing as this TV repro was released a day before the UBW movie. So in this aspect, as a recap, it's fine. All the best scenes were there, and it certainly reminded me of the key points in the storyline, making it easier for me to compare it to the UBW story (which i'll watch after writing this).
Saying that, the studio was very lazy. They really could've put some effort and remade these 2 hours, rather than just copy and paste. Had they rewritten the script, maybe the plot wouldnt feel as jumpy hell as it did, and would actually work as an intro to FSN.
Well, all in all, it was a good recap but ONLY after you've seen the anime AND have forgotten what had happened AND intend to watch the UBW movie very soon. Saying that, this actually includes a fairly decent amount of people, seeing as there was 3 years (?) hiatus between the tv and the movie, so i guess this adaptation served its purpose to bridge the series and movie, but it fails to exist as a standalone work.
Now, onto the Unlimited Blade Works movie i go!! ^.^
