Well i've got to say, this season disappointed me.
At first, it was quite interesting (much like DCSS), with the sudden time jump of 53 years, and some very familiar family names and jokes thrown round the place (like the banana stuff, and Shirakawa school idols), but after all the inside-jokes have settled, it turned out to be just another generic harem school rom com. I mean, it was different that they had the main pairing from ep 1 - but nothing happened!! There was absolutely no progression between the couple, and in the end, they went back to square one.
Then there was the overbearing robot storyline. That was weird and frankly, annoying to watch. Though i have to admit, that last ep did get me a bit emotional, so i have to give them credit there. But the story was just too unbelievable to really make me care enough about the robot character.
Also, i felt trolled that the Asakura twins (bearing the name of their ancestral protagonists from the original Da Capo), didnt play much any real role in this season at all!!! And so much is left unexplained. Like why are Sakurai and the Asakura sisters "siblings"? Why are they staying in Sakura's house, but sometimes in their own house next door? Why is Sakura even still around, AND still loli at the age of something like 60???!!?!??? DX (not that im complaining though, Sakura <333) lol
Oh and Suginami's still around?!?! - i had to read a character profile on MAL to know "it's his grandson", but seriously, there was NOTHING in the show to explain it.
Heck, i even fricken forgot this: WHY THE HELL ARE THE SAKURA TREES BACK!??!?!?!?
This better all be explained in the Second Season, which better not just be epic, but EPIC
And even if THE ENTIRE SECOND SEASON is pure win, that's still wasting 13eps to set up for 13 eps that's worth watching. That's almost just as bad as Da Capo 1, with its 17eps of garbage filler before 6 eps of good dorama. Heck, i dont even know whether i should complain about DC1 anymore - at least those 6 eps were really good, unlike THIS season of 13 eps of "meh" :\
