Right, so a while back you asked me for my opinion on Record of Agarest War. I had picked it back up a month ago, then dropped it once again two weeks ago. Guess how it is? >D

The game plays through five generations of characters (the previous main character's offspring). While this idea looks good on paper (I mean, why WOULDN'T you want to play through five generations?!), you're left with five horrible and undeveloped stories as a result. Record of Agarest War would of been a much game if there was only two or three generations. When I beat the first generation, I felt like I still didn't even know the main character and main heroines at all, nor did it feel like the heroines had developed enough to actually fall in love with the main hero (at the end of each generation, you choose one of three girls to have a child with, then the game skips ahead about twenty years and you play as their child). It was so awkward when they confessed their feelings for each, I was even laughing at the dialogue with a "LOL wut? Really?". If you have any interest in playing this series, buy Zero first, because it has only two generations; and with that, I have faith it's what the game COULD of been - good. I play games for story first, gameplay secondary.

I would give the story an F (which I've almost NEVER given to JRPGs before) and the gameplay a B- (interesting but nothing extraordinary), with an overall score of D+, which is almost unplayable. Dude, I really do not recommend this if you enjoy a solid story. I MIGHT buy Zero, but I need time to get over how bad the first game is. >_<

Right, out all of all systems I have and want, the PSP has the most games I desire to play. Plus considering it's also the cheapest system I need, that'll be the next system I get. The first games I plan on buying are the Persona games; I'm really interested in playing the first Personas, in addition to seeing what Persona 3 is like as a female character.

Black Rock Shooter's RPG for the PSP got an English license yesterday. I haven't seen the anime, but I might buy the game...once I have a PSP. XD
