Spoiler Free Inspection
Big Tits, Comedy, Drama, Random References to other anime, and the quiet pain of solitude. The events of the world are linked to the source of fortune each individual has. One individual seems to have far too much and the gods see fit to recalibrate the balance. Beautiful animation, pumped up jams, and variation make this anime enjoyable visually and musically with what seems like no effort. The story hindges on the characters, which could be more fleshed out, but still develop in their own manner. Bottom line, this anime is funny. However, it does get touchy feely... See full review

5 Centimeters per Second

on Nov 14, 2013

Life is hard. Life is not fair. Life still has moments of undying beauty that can change your life even if the ending doesn't go as you intend. This anime is a bit of a niche for a number of reasons. One being it is a collection of short stories, most anime don't operate that may. Two being the theme of the short stories, Distance. Many shows deal with distance but usually not in a manner as focused as this anime. Three being it is a slow paced show, one without action that says a lot with setting and music.
The stories presented here are touching. Spoilers, they are also hard to handle for some... See full review

Paranoia Agent

on Oct 24, 2013

Introduction Warning, this anime is different. It is very different. It is not for everybody. It is slow and thought out and complex. It may be a bumpy ride if you are prepared to zone out and not use your brain. This anime is best to not watch alone, talking it out can help plus this is so crazy you'll want to share the experience with a friend. That being said, The real review begins now. Animation It looks pretty good, it really does. It is terribly honest in its style and has older folks actually looking wrinkly and saggy. Sometimes the animation shows some flaws but... Omae Umasou da na Movie

on Aug 28, 2013

Oh man. Really didn't know what to expect going into this. I had no idea I was walking into a dinosaur anime movie. What a great surpise. This story is really touching to all ages, it has a tone about it that is easy to relate to. If you have two hours and some friends (or not, that's cool too) you shouldn't be reading this review, you should be watching that movie. This movie is super delightful! Give it a chance sometime, you may be pleasantly surpised.

Death Billiards

on Aug 28, 2013

Death Billiards is only one episode long, but that one episode does a pretty good job of defining itself. Two individuals find themselves in an odd situtation with odd consequnces. Ladies and Gentleman, the game is billiards. This show looks great at every moment. Sound and music work well and overall the presentation is great. The characters are a little bit bleak but it is to be expected when characters only have one episode be explored. I think this show would work better an a one episode experience over a whole show but that is because the premise is a bit hard to work with. Overall this is short, but... See full review

Black Cat

on Aug 28, 2013

Black Cat is a bit of a ridiculous story. At times it feels like it could or should end but instead becomes more complex and cotinues. Some of the characters go through some rather impacting changes. The show looks okay. Battles don't usually last very long but are still enjoyable. The characters in this show have a lot of potential. One character specifically changes dramatically. Personally, I think Sven has an aura about him that is hard to beat.  Overall, this show is pretty solid. It may mix things up in a negative way but at least it goes all out in the process. This show is pretty episodic... See full review

From the New World

on Jul 11, 2013

WARNING: Do not watch this if you do not like to think while watching anime. This show has so much going on and has so much to teach that it can get confusing. Thinking and or reflection may be required. To begin with, this is not your ordinary anime, do not expect something you've seen a hundred times. This story is colossal, brutal, and sensative in meaningful ways. This review may have minor spoilers but that is due to the pacing of the show. Since each new development in the show is so important and constantly building off of a central plot line, in order for you to hear about anything past the... See full review

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai

on Jun 3, 2013

This season continues after the last one with confusion. It starts off trying to confuse the viewer with misinformation. That being said, most of this season is informative, clearing up questions from the last season. (minor spoilers) Ultimately it seems to wrap everything up yet there are more seasons after this! Characters get more two-dimensional in this season and rarely step out of their expected range. The main character is different from the first season and tries to play like it was always that way. The opening is the old one played backwards and the rest of the music is as expected. Even though... See full review

Mushishi

on Jun 3, 2013

Good old fashioned story telling. Mushishi is something not everybody will like, it is slow, doesn’t have a lot of action, and no panty shots; it is different from a lot of anime out there. That being said, Mushishi spends its time in the moment, building a story, ending a story, and doing it all over again. This show can be watched out of order if necessary. Each episode is something special to be enjoyed. The characters are not the flamboyant characters you usually see in anime however; there are some really unique characters here, primarily Ginko, the stories protagonist. Our hero sticks to his... Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

on May 9, 2013

Higurashi season one (the first 26 episodes) may seem like kind of an a$$hole of a season. I say that because nobody is trust worthy, it feels as though the only point of the show is to watch seriously messed up scenarios that continue even though logically they are conflicting. This will be cleared up as you continue to watch season two. How about the characters? Well, they change from arc to arc which feels insulting to me considering the consistency of the characters is so vapid. This too becomes a bit more cleared up in later episodes. Animation-wise it looks fine, and actually only gets better... See full review

on Feb 17, 2013

This show is exceptional! The story/ environment is so much fun. It is a strange world full of questions and new ways of living. This anime is short and that is good! This anime does what it needs to and closes itself without going on forever and ever. I don't want to ruin anything for you so I'll say that this show is well thought out and legitamate, it looks, sounds, and feels great! Watch this. 9/10 for a great experience all the way/

Neon Genesis Evangelion - The End of Evangelion

on Nov 23, 2012

Masterpiece. Must watch the series first. The end of the show was a bit confusing. The movie is a bit confusing as well and creates new questions but it answers many bigger questions. This makes really wants you to look at yourself and think HARD. Thank Jebus for that! If you've seen the show, it is pretty much a better and more thought out ending. I essentially consider this a part of the show, not a standalone movie thingy. Keep that is mind and enjoy!

Daughter of Twenty Faces

on Nov 23, 2012

Lighthearted and full of adventure. Reminds me of my childhood imagination. This anime could've turned into something crappy quickly but managed to grab a hold of the reins and keep entertaining. Change happens, and this show knows it. I expected the same thing every episode and was happily surprised when that did not happen. Worth watching.

Neon Genesis Evangelion

on Nov 23, 2012

The real quality that makes this anime an instant favorite of mine is the way in which it asks questions; questions about trust, questions about who we are, questions about what made us the way we are. These questions are not something most shows push for. The anime starts out pretty slow and the English voice acting may be bad but somehow becomes more comfortable in time. The animation is a little dated but still surprisingly good in some parts (especially later on). The music is soft, lots of piano and violins. Later in the series classical music is incorporated and it is a gloriously majestic... See full review

Sengoku Basara

on Aug 26, 2012

This anime is very exaggerated and over the top in most ways. It is  still fairly entertaining but at times you may question why you are watching it or why these characters  are the way they are. Not much going on with the story, there is constant strife and everyone will be fighting pretty much at all times, that is also the good news, it looks good. Overall it is okay.

Kuragehime

on Aug 26, 2012

This anime contucts itself the way an anime should. It introduces you to the characters present but allows them to be apart of something bigger while maintaining their quarky roles. The story actually has a progession to it, there isn't a moment of epiphany where everything makes since, everything happens over the time, just like in real life. The story places itself around the characters and the two develop in unison pushing each other forward with baby steps. The characters all look fastly different and you'll rarly mix characters up. Everything is smooth and looks excellent, this works with the... See full review

Howl's Moving Castle

on Aug 22, 2012

The story develops and changes as the movie goes on. I won't spoil anything but the stroy progresses along with the characters through a sense of harmonization that binds the two aspects together. It looks a tiny bit old but with the style of the castle and the environments around them you can't complain. The theme is so unforgettable and moving. It feels as though it comes from the characters themselves and matches with them exactly as a song should. The characters grow quickly and always have more to them than meets the eye. Learning more about each character shows the depth hidden within them... See full review

Ga-Rei -Zero-

on Aug 22, 2012

The animation looks really good except for some weird angles from swords and things. If you pay close attention you can see that it is slightly flawed but aside from that it looks great and combat when it is around, is entertaining and pretty legit. The sound and music is solid. The characters get along really well and are pretty well thought out. The story starts out confusing because it starts near the end and then backtracks which is really the best way to handle what happens. It is done well. There are a few moments that make no sense. At one point a character comments on the unnecessary... See full review

Baccano!

on Aug 6, 2012

Complex, elaborate, and legit. Baccano throws you around and around and expects you to eventually follow. Expect lots of characters and lots of time changes. The animation looks good and the english voices are just about all fantastic. The characters are always consistant and react great when put near each other. The music is a lot of fun. Just about everything about this is great. It would easily thrive in just about any form of media.  9.3/10

Ristorante Paradiso

on May 30, 2012

A quaint story about a girl who moves to rome and is romanced by a little resturant hidden in rome. Charming, calm, sophisticated. Very different from normal anime. Not for everyone, not really geared for the younger kids.

The animation looks great and occationaly incorperates some 3D animation. Some of the textures look different and look really interesting. The music always fits as they intend. The characters are delightful and their own, some will even surprise. If you love wine, rome, or other cultures you will enjoy this! It is however a tiny bit slow. Very twisted and bloody. Bold, in what it attempts to do, this anime is not afraid to jump forwatd 40 years without warning. Solid music. It fits really well and even stands alone as a great soundtrack. Animation looks great. A mix of action and drama/investigation. Story can get odd and a little confusing. Episodes are longer than normal episodes. Worth watching if you are curious what animes are capable of but be wary of how bloody and messed up this will get. 8/10 worth watching but be ready for it!

Motto To Love-Ru

on May 26, 2012

This is a sequel to "To Love Ru" which is about a boy that ends up having a pink haired hotty from another planet live with him. This sequel continues with his life and all the chicks around him. They're gonna get naked... a lot. This season in pretty "Shameless" and will show you boobs all the time. It really isn't necessary to see nearly every females chest parts.

Each episode has 3 parts to it so they are all short and hold almost no significance or continued plot. It gets pretty old quick. Some of the characters are neat, most are the exact same in every situation. The... See full review

To Love-Ru

on May 14, 2012

This will be one quick review. Basically, this anime is pretty terrible however, it is kinda sweet and totally silly at the same time. Main character somehow gets himself married to a chick from another planet and if he doesn't marry her the planet will be destroyed but he likes this quiet chick at his school. Yeah, very ecchi. Boobs in face/ boob jokes/ random reason to look at girls boobs events happen all the time. Somehow I still like this show. The intro song is fun and great.  But really, this anime is super wacky and fun and somehow better than a lot of other ecchi. It is surprisingly sweet... See full review

This anime is fun. Period. I missed it when growing up and decided I needed to go back and see what all the fuss was about. Turns out this anime is great. It captures that sense of heroic glory every kid wants growing up. The story is basically a man comes into possession of a ship and is for searching goes on a huge treasure hunt. The animation is kinda old (it is currently 2012) but it still looks good and gets a little better after episode 13. The music is a lot of. It fits the feel of the anime very well. Valkyria Chronicles

on Feb 7, 2012

I played a fair amount of this game before I started the anime so I already knew what I was getting myself into. The story can be referenced as similar to true experiences throughout history. In a nutshell you follow Squad 7 as they fight to defend Gallia in a war set environment. The animation has a unique stlye to it. It looks kind of scratched or rubbed, after a while you won't notice it. I really like it, everyone in a while you'll re-notice it and that is pretty neat. I really enjoy the 2nd opening. The sound is spot on and solid. I watched this subbed and the voices were all really great. Welkin... See full review

Story=ninja's except it's not terrible and chilidish and isn't afraid to have people die. Enough said. I really liked the style of animation this show incorperates. If you pay attention to the backgrounds you'll understand what I mean, some look like still frames of painting, very pretty. Besides that The animtion looks really good and so does the combat, no crappy suspended pictures, the fights actually look like fights and not still shots of special moves. on Jan 17, 2012

I didn't hate it. Lets start there. Story is okay, (minor spoilers) you've got a pcincess who accidentally switches bodies with a bad ass mercinary, that's the majority of it.  The animation looks good actually but action isn't very long, they spend most of the battles with still frame shots that show someone doing some sort of attack.  I watched this in english and the voices weren't terrible. In fact I really liked Dominikov. Most of the music was guitar riff's and the like. They all fit the setting pretty well. Characters... See full review

Cowboy Bebop

on Nov 27, 2011

Cowboy Bebop has been around for a long time but I only just got around to watching it. I remember a little bit of it playing on cartoon network when I was little but it didn't really make much sense to me at the time. Now that I've watched it all the way through I think it is spectacular. The Story follows a group of characters around the universe as they hunt bountys. Remnants of the characters past get mixed in from time to time and sort of take over the story. One thing that is strange about this anime is that it really shines in the epidoes that aren't connected, which many many animes try to do and... See full review

The basic story of Angel Beats is that a guy dies and finds himself in a sort of replica of normal life however he can not die. There he meets a group of teens who are fighting against a girl named angel. Story doesn't progress from there until quite a while, when it does eventually its pretty cool. The animation looks solid. Nothing jittery or wrong with it, they even dabble with some slow-mo and fun neat tricks. The sound is great. (minor spoilers?) Part 2 of the Clannad lifetime, if you've made it this far you should live happily knowing something as special as Clannad exists.See my review for Clannad, not much in the terms of technical aspects has changed however the story has a lot. Prepare for an anime that actually continues outside of high school and travels through the real world. Story is similar to the first Clannad however it spends more time on stories of minor characters, these are totally awesome, outside experiences that wouldn't have made their way into the anime otherwise.
