This anime is fantastic. Okay, for those still reading lets dive into this review! There are certain patterns I see in a lot of anime's that I am sick of seeing, and I get sad when an anime falls into these patterns but somethimes they manage to break free, which makes me oh so happy. Pattern number 1: guy accidentally wanders into a bad place, gets killed, resurrected, and then joins forces with who ever saved him. Pattern number 2: Girl moves in with guy, que sexual tension Pattern number 3: Give protagonist awesome powers, make each episode stand alone and have him always with with these powers These... To Love Ru

May 14, 2012

This will be one quick review. Basically, this anime is pretty terrible however, it is kinda sweet and totally silly at the same time. Main character somehow gets himself married to a chick from another planet and if he doesn't marry her the planet will be destroyed but he likes this quiet chick at his school. Yeah, very ecchi. Boobs in face/ boob jokes/ random reason to look at girls boobs events happen all the time. Somehow I still like this show. The intro song is fun and great.  But really, this anime is super wacky and fun and somehow better than a lot of other ecchi. It is surprisingly sweet... See full review

Fire Emblem

May 19, 2011

Lets start off with the biggest issue here, it's two episodes long, and is really the start of something that never was given a true opportunity, SO, we take the game Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon and make a two-part anime series about it, which means you must cram all the introductions and endings of whats happening into two episodes, and because that can't be accomplished with something as colossal as Fire Emblem, it just...kinda sits there... I watched this as of 2011, and it was born in 1996, so its pretty dated, the animation is a little shotty but that is to be expected from that time, I do however think... See full review

This Ugly Yet Beautiful World

Jan 25, 2011

Its alright...and that about sums it up. It feels a bit nostalgic, like an anime from they 90's, which includes all of the cliches and problems of back then. The sound and animation is standard I suppose. Most the characters I can't stand, the main character has nothing going for him, and when something shows up for him to protect, he suddenly gains the motivation to spend every once of energy forever protecting her, because she most obvious needs it. Its mostly drama, with some action between huge monsters and the hyper powered main character. Anyways, its okay, feel free to skip.

Shining Tears X Wind

Jan 25, 2011

Before we start... one of the worst titles I have ever encountered. OK, characters, paper thin, no depth no emotion, its like this for our main character, "I'm a good guy and don't do bad things." Actually at one point the main character changes and trys to show everyone they can be mature and solve problems when working together, this is good, but he kinda shows it off like, "look at me, i'm better, so hurry up and change." The person most relatible was a robot (however they did her relationship really well!)

When i started this i had high expectations, the first half of the... See full review

Neon Genesis Evangelion

Nov 23, 2012

The real quality that makes this anime an instant favorite of mine is the way in which it asks questions; questions about trust, questions about who we are, questions about what made us the way we are. These questions are not something most shows push for. The anime starts out pretty slow and the English voice acting may be bad but somehow becomes more comfortable in time. The animation is a little dated but still surprisingly good in some parts (especially later on). The music is soft, lots of piano and violins. Later in the series classical music is incorporated and it is a gloriously majestic... See full review

Princess Jellyfish

Aug 27, 2012

This anime contucts itself the way an anime should. It introduces you to the characters present but allows them to be apart of something bigger while maintaining their quarky roles. The story actually has a progession to it, there isn't a moment of epiphany where everything makes since, everything happens over the time, just like in real life. The story places itself around the characters and the two develop in unison pushing each other forward with baby steps. The characters all look fastly different and you'll rarly mix characters up. Everything is smooth and looks excellent, this works with the... See full review

Motto To Love Ru

May 26, 2012

This is a sequel to "To Love Ru" which is about a boy that ends up having a pink haired hotty from another planet live with him. This sequel continues with his life and all the chicks around him. They're gonna get naked... a lot. This season in pretty "Shameless" and will show you boobs all the time. It really isn't necessary to see nearly every females chest parts.

Each episode has 3 parts to it so they are all short and hold almost no significance or continued plot. It gets pretty old quick. Some of the characters are neat, most are the exact same in every situation. The... See full review

Murder Princess

Jan 17, 2012

I didn't hate it. Lets start there. Story is okay, (minor spoilers) you've got a pcincess who accidentally switches bodies with a bad ass mercinary, that's the majority of it.  The animation looks good actually but action isn't very long, they spend most of the battles with still frame shots that show someone doing some sort of attack.  I watched this in english and the voices weren't terrible. In fact I really liked Dominikov. Most of the music was guitar riff's and the like. They all fit the setting pretty well. Characters... See full review

HAM! Story: Interesting. Yeah, interesting is the correct word. Pretty different, and odd but cool! It's intriguing and you may be a little confused at times but you still want to keep watching and find out. Animation: Looks good, no complaints here. Sound: Nothing super fantastic.  Characters: Most of the main characters and character development are within children, so make of that what you will Overall: It is a good watch, in my opinion not worth buying but intesting and creative, innovative and artisitc, a pretty fun watch. Ninja Nonsense

Delightful. Story: Practically zero story, this is a comedy, you don't watch it for the story. Animation: No blatent flaws, anime always uses the it to its strengths for wacky funny reasons. Sound: I can still hear the menu screen bouncing around in my head. Pretty neat, nothing much past that in terms of music design, however the sounds are always spot on. Characters: They are the real Comedy. They always work off of each other and use one another for jokes, this works really well. Overall: Its Delightful plain and simple. A good o'l wacky anime filled with some cute moments and comedy to... See full review

Gungrave

Jan 26, 2011

One of my personal favorites. I do reccomend skipping the first episode, its makes things a little confusing and gives away some of the story. This anime has a mobster, type of feel for probably 2 3rds of the anime. The characters are great, the story is great, the character development, at times can feel jarring! Towards the end it has more of a supernatural feel. Please please watch, great action, great great great character relationships and development, and drama included. 9/5/10

GANTZ

Jan 25, 2011

Let me explain a little, my friend threw this on my harddrive, I knew nothing about it, other than it had some noteriety. My other friend and I were hanging out and he wanted to watch some anime, we started it, and finished all of it that night and the next day, we couldn't stop watching. Also, note, this anime is for more mature audiences, has nudity and lots of blood/gore. Gantz...is... amazing. Let me start with praise, this anime does things animes (and every other media) are afraid to do. Without giving away spoilers, it takes an interesting approach that other medians of media are afraid to do... See full review

Good Luck Girl!

Spoiler Free Inspection
Big Tits, Comedy, Drama, Random References to other anime, and the quiet pain of solitude. The events of the world are linked to the source of fortune each individual has. One individual seems to have far too much and the gods see fit to recalibrate the balance. Beautiful animation, pumped up jams, and variation make this anime enjoyable visually and musically with what seems like no effort. The story hindges on the characters, which could be more fleshed out, but still develop in their own manner. Bottom line, this anime is funny. However, it does get touchy feely... See full review

5 Centimeters per Second

Nov 15, 2013

Life is hard. Life is not fair. Life still has moments of undying beauty that can change your life even if the ending doesn't go as you intend. This anime is a bit of a niche for a number of reasons. One being it is a collection of short stories, most anime don't operate that may. Two being the theme of the short stories, Distance. Many shows deal with distance but usually not in a manner as focused as this anime. Three being it is a slow paced show, one without action that says a lot with setting and music.
The stories presented here are touching. Spoilers, they are also hard to handle for some... See full review

Introduction Warning, this anime is different. It is very different. It is not for everybody. It is slow and thought out and complex. It may be a bumpy ride if you are prepared to zone out and not use your brain. This anime is best to not watch alone, talking it out can help plus this is so crazy you'll want to share the experience with a friend. That being said, The real review begins now. Animation It looks pretty good, it really does. It is terribly honest in its style and has older folks actually looking wrinkly and saggy. Sometimes the animation shows some flaws but... Oh man. Really didn't know what to expect going into this. I had no idea I was walking into a dinosaur anime movie. What a great surpise. This story is really touching to all ages, it has a tone about it that is easy to relate to. If you have two hours and some friends (or not, that's cool too) you shouldn't be reading this review, you should be watching that movie. This movie is super delightful! Give it a chance sometime, you may be pleasantly surpised.

Death Billiards

Aug 28, 2013

Death Billiards is only one episode long, but that one episode does a pretty good job of defining itself. Two individuals find themselves in an odd situtation with odd consequnces. Ladies and Gentleman, the game is billiards. This show looks great at every moment. Sound and music work well and overall the presentation is great. The characters are a little bit bleak but it is to be expected when characters only have one episode be explored. I think this show would work better an a one episode experience over a whole show but that is because the premise is a bit hard to work with. Overall this is short, but... See full review

Black Cat

Aug 28, 2013

Black Cat is a bit of a ridiculous story. At times it feels like it could or should end but instead becomes more complex and cotinues. Some of the characters go through some rather impacting changes. The show looks okay. Battles don't usually last very long but are still enjoyable. The characters in this show have a lot of potential. One character specifically changes dramatically. Personally, I think Sven has an aura about him that is hard to beat.  Overall, this show is pretty solid. It may mix things up in a negative way but at least it goes all out in the process. This show is pretty episodic... See full review

From the New World

Jul 11, 2013

WARNING: Do not watch this if you do not like to think while watching anime. This show has so much going on and has so much to teach that it can get confusing. Thinking and or reflection may be required. To begin with, this is not your ordinary anime, do not expect something you've seen a hundred times. This story is colossal, brutal, and sensative in meaningful ways. This review may have minor spoilers but that is due to the pacing of the show. When They Cry: Kai

Jun 3, 2013

This season continues after the last one with confusion. It starts off trying to confuse the viewer with misinformation. That being said, most of this season is informative, clearing up questions from the last season. (minor spoilers) Ultimately it seems to wrap everything up yet there are more seasons after this! Characters get more two-dimensional in this season and rarely step out of their expected range. The main character is different from the first season and tries to play like it was always that way. The opening is the old one played backwards and the rest of the music is as expected. Even though... See full review

Mushishi

Jun 3, 2013

Good old fashioned story telling. Mushishi is something not everybody will like, it is slow, doesn’t have a lot of action, and no panty shots; it is different from a lot of anime out there. That being said, Mushishi spends its time in the moment, building a story, ending a story, and doing it all over again. This show can be watched out of order if necessary. Each episode is something special to be enjoyed. The characters are not the flamboyant characters you usually see in anime however; there are some really unique characters here, primarily Ginko, the stories protagonist. Our hero sticks to his... When They Cry: Higurashi

May 9, 2013

Higurashi season one (the first 26 episodes) may seem like kind of an a$$hole of a season. I say that because nobody is trust worthy, it feels as though the only point of the show is to watch seriously messed up scenarios that continue even though logically they are conflicting. This will be cleared up as you continue to watch season two. How about the characters? Well, they change from arc to arc which feels insulting to me considering the consistency of the characters is so vapid. This too becomes a bit more cleared up in later episodes. Animation-wise it looks fine, and actually only gets better... See full review

This show is exceptional! The story/ environment is so much fun. It is a strange world full of questions and new ways of living. This anime is short and that is good! This anime does what it needs to and closes itself without going on forever and ever. I don't want to ruin anything for you so I'll say that this show is well thought out and legitamate, it looks, sounds, and feels great! Watch this. 9/10 for a great experience all the way/

Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion

Masterpiece. Must watch the series first. The end of the show was a bit confusing. The movie is a bit confusing as well and creates new questions but it answers many bigger questions. This makes really wants you to look at yourself and think HARD. Thank Jebus for that! If you've seen the show, it is pretty much a better and more thought out ending. I essentially consider this a part of the show, not a standalone movie thingy. Keep that is mind and enjoy!

Lighthearted and full of adventure. Reminds me of my childhood imagination. This anime could've turned into something crappy quickly but managed to grab a hold of the reins and keep entertaining. This anime is very exaggerated and over the top in most ways. It is  still fairly entertaining but at times you may question why you are watching it or why these characters  are the way they are. Not much going on with the story, there is constant strife and everyone will be fighting pretty much at all times, that is also the good news, it looks good. Overall it is okay.

Howl's Moving Castle

Aug 23, 2012

The story develops and changes as the movie goes on. I won't spoil anything but the stroy progresses along with the characters through a sense of harmonization that binds the two aspects together. It looks a tiny bit old but with the style of the castle and the environments around them you can't complain. The theme is so unforgettable and moving. It feels as though it comes from the characters themselves and matches with them exactly as a song should. The characters grow quickly and always have more to them than meets the eye. The animation looks really good except for some weird angles from swords and things. If you pay close attention you can see that it is slightly flawed but aside from that it looks great and combat when it is around, is entertaining and pretty legit. The sound and music is solid. The characters get along really well and are pretty well thought out. The story starts out confusing because it starts near the end and then backtracks which is really the best way to handle what happens. It is done well. There are a few moments that make no sense.
