Cross Ange: Rondo of Angels and Dragons

on

lets introduce mature themes as rape, discrimination and gene-manipulation and resolve these problems with shounen style "power of love" and "anything can be fixed if you hit it hard enough" then, add insane amounts of ecchi. also, very shaky characters (mood swings all over the place, trauma's apear and disapear at random)  tl;dr; cross ange: tenshi to ryuu no rondo: where rape and atempted murder gets resolved by saying sorry during a panty shot.

what happens when your pit happy go lucky "all ages"(one-piece-esque become friends after a fistfight) against dark 18+ villains... the heroes get trashed furiously, which is frustrating and boring to watch. the three things more frustrating than these are constant "just as planned" scenes, a random nonsensical "full" comedy episode, and fixing bad script by adding a foreign nonsense element.    for instance:  villain uses nuke, hero convient has an anti-nuke (whatever that is) in the end i still have no clue what they where thinking or looking for when... Samurai Champloo

on

Story 7/10 the story starts off with a big fight, resulting in destruction and the three main characters fleeing the scene going on a journey trough edo era Japan trying to find the samurai that smells like sunflowers. this hip hop inspired story is clean, nicely worked out ,but nothing that touches my heart or makes me say wow and at some points the connection to the main story becomes so small to the point that you wonder what it is adding to the story, it becomes more of a monster of the week genre. (saying that a random samurai or police army counts as a monster) although this doesn't happen too... See full review
